Whoever said a gangster can’t be a gentleman? I think I might have found the gentleman story I was looking for. Oh Boss Daniel aka Mr. Dreamy, is as romantic as can be, sweeping Fahsai literally off her feet, and maybe mine too. I wonder if the powers that be in the lakorn industry secretly get together and discuss what themes they’ll be focusing on this year or next and organize the lakorn airings according to that theme- giving us gangsters, mafias, and Big Bosses of something or other all in one fell swoop. There’s really only so much Stockholm syndrome one can endure of the heroine falling in love with her kidnapper who uses her as hostage or bargaining chip. Then the heroine swoons over said hero when she realizes that he really has a good heart and in dire need of a woman’s warmth and affection. This week sure went by fast. This weekend I’ll be spending most of the time cleaning since new carpet will be installed next week. It’s great and it sucks at the same time. I also want to do some cleaning up in the Ch3-Ch7 lakorn list since a lot of them have already aired – time to go through them once again during this mid year review and evaluate what’s left and what is a feasible recap project. So, look forward to that. It’s going to be a nice sunny weekend – upper 7o’s – just the way I like my summers. I shouldn’t boast about nice things with those who are suffering from the heat, but I’m just realizing how the grass is…
It’s not you, it’s me. I am going to say it, Plerng Naree, and Tik-Mai combo, just isn’t doing it for me. The premier episode felt slow, languid, dazed and uninspiring. Some glaring issues for me lies in three areas: (1) the directing, which creates such a boring world; (2) the writing and characters; and (3) the actors, which may have to do with the characters they portray, and then, maybe not.

Our midweek lakorn has come to a close. It’s not so much a revenge lakorn as it touted itself to be, because it’s really a story about a beast’s journey into a prince (so to speak). From an abandoned, abused childhood, and tough façade in order to rule over Rai Phu Tupdao, Suriyen transformed into a person who could feel again due to the love of Tarntawan and his nephew. Will the finale help us determine whether this man has indeed changed from the burning sun into a hopeful sunrise? Is the ending everything we hoped for? How did the whole story fare? Let’s just get to it!

Whee it’s Fri-yay! I’m outta here. Portland bound that is. What are you guys doing/watching this weekend? Hope it’s a great and relaxing one.
Whoops, I guess we’re not saying goodbye to this show yet. I honestly thought we’re ending with 13, I don’t know how or why we’re going to drag this out, since there’s not a lot of conflict we don’t already know about, but I guess there’s always more room for some angst. I hope the finale finale will give us some fangirl moments, but for now, Show works on setting up the climax and putting us literally on the edge of the cliff. Note: I guess I have more time to finish this recap! All done ~ enjoy 🙂

It’s finale week! The truth comes out and another life is lost, however Show continues to explore trust as the central issue today. Even if evidence stares Tarntawan in the face, will she remain steadfast or buckle towards her bias? Should Suriyen act out like everyone anticipates him to or do something differently? You know what Einstein said: insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Shall we expect a crazy Beast or a changed man? Buckle your seatbelts everybody, it’s gonna be a rocky road before we close out this series.

And such a charming show it is. Show starts off with one of the strongest first impression in a long while, and maintains its charm, which is in turning a serious moment right into a laugh out loud moment. Then going from uproariously laughing to a fit of tears without losing its grip on the story. Reducing its viewers, at least me anyway, to an emotional mess. I think to myself, I am watching a funny show, but why am I crying?

If the recent revenge lakorns aren’t revengey enough for you, or perhaps you’re missing some lip action or R scenes (really, if that is your thing..) than the Weds-Thurs lakorn, Buang Rak Salak Kaen, might be just the show for you. Channel 8 allows their actors to experiment and test their comfort level, and if the smooches, physical force, and R scenes are any indication in this show, the actors are definitely game. I personally have not seen this, and will be passing on this since it isn’t my thing, BUT so far it has stimulated the interest of Thai fans. Well, not only because of the smooches and slap/kiss nature of this show, but for the complex storyline that centers around two neighboring…
