I must be turning into my son, with an attention span of 2 minutes, because now, 1 hr and 45 mins lakorns feel sooo long. Happy Fri-yay everybody! What’s everyone doing this weekend? I’m hoping the rainy day improves so I can go eat some yummy food. Otherwise I just want ramen and lay on the couch.

Mai’s First Lakorn for Channel 3 – Plerng Naree

lovefia

Posted on July 22, 2016

It’s another revenge drama for our W-Th timeslot! Plerng Naree will take over once Rang Tawan ends, introducing Mai Davika to Channel 3 viewers alongside the already revered Tik Jesadaporn. Guts Entertainment takes the revenge plot up a notch by involving royalty – Mai plays Princess Pririsa of Saijeet (a country on an island). She was born Thai but had to flee the country with her mom due to suffering and death threats by the hands of her father’s family. They seek refuge at Saijeet where her mother ends up marrying the King, so she became the Princess by default and her life as she knows it, becomes a fairytale. But she could never forget her past and upon seeing that the culprits are…

Rang Tawan – Episode 11

lovefia

Posted on July 21, 2016

Show is slated to end with 13 episodes, which means finale week is right around the corner. Conflict is heightened as we close out episode 11, taking us into the climax. This episode sure gives us the tension, but I am disappointed that it went in the direction we can predict. But nonetheless, it still left me with the feels, and the inevitable fighting in Suriyen’s corner. Don’t ask me why I always end up taking the hero’s side. Because this journey of watching Suriyen grow and change is about eventually overcoming his dark side, fall in love with him, and then go to bat for him. If only our heroine falls in line with us. If anyone needs a hug in this Show,…

Rang Tawan – Episode 10

lovefia

Posted on July 20, 2016

When I think Show is going to take us to familiar places, they do something that pleasantly surprises me. If last week’s episodes are about Suriyen’s heart unraveling, this week’s episodes mark the moment Suriyen let’s go and allow himself to love freely and unabashedly. The thing that gets me though is that Tarntawan chooses to trust Suriyen completely and by doing so, it allows Suriyen to let the softer, more human side of him to come out. If he cries over his past love, smiles openly at Nong Phit, and find ways to make up for his past discretions with Tarntawan, I may just die. This one is sweet and funny, but also moves our story forward, because several things come to light.…

When Show’s Got You Feeling the Emoji..

If I could use one emoji to express the first episode of Sai Lap Rak Puan, it would be the smiley face with heart shaped eyes.

TGIF! It’s been awhile for an open thread but it gives us the opportunity to talk about random things, lakorn related or not. And since we’re gonna be random, might as well stare into this adorable and perfect face. I do miss James Ji in a lakorn and can’t wait for Buang Hong! ANYWAY. Let the rambling begin – I’ll be the first to start! See below 🙂

Rang Tawan – Episode 9 – Unraveling of The Beast’s Heart

lovefia

Posted on July 14, 2016

Truly the best part of this show is in watching the Beast’s heart flutter and melt as he learns to love and be loved, while allowing our hearts to warm right along with him. And it’s not even about the romantic love that makes his heart flutter, because it does. But it’s the hard fought love from his own nephew that subsequently melts his heart completely. This is one of my most favorite episode yet, since Show is obviously listening to our wishes, and they are listening very well indeed. Be prepared to curse Visut, hug Suriyen and slap yourself, because you’ll realize it’s a dream come true that a Beast like Suriyen could morph into a Prince right before your eyes. It’s all…

Rang Tawan – Episode 8

lovefia

Posted on July 13, 2016

What’s a girl gotta do around here to get more screentime for Suriyen and Tarntawan? This episode is even slimmer picking than before. The tone feels slower and sleepier..  or maybe I just didn’t drink enough coffee today?

Ready or Not, Luk Mai Klai Ton Remake Is Here

lovefia

Posted on July 12, 2016

Luk Mai Klai Ton is a beloved lakorn to many, and good lakorns are always up for a remake. You would think that bad lakorns should be remade into good lakorns, because why remake something that is already great and still relevant today, into something good? I’ll be the first to admit that I was wary about watching this, because there are some golden lakorns that should not be touched, like Tawee Pope, and now Luk Mai Klai Ton. How is anyone going to top an already perfect lakorn? But my curiosity always gets the best of me, and I tune in, reminding myself to think of Luk Mai Klai Ton 2016 as a standalone lakorn. Let’s see how Show reinterprets the story, bring…

Lakorn Check-in: Ruk Fun Thalop and Kong Grapan Naree

lovefia

Posted on July 12, 2016

One HD finally released episode 3 of Ruk Fun Thalop on youtube, despite my waiting for it on Saturday, hoping to get the recaps done. However, I am noticing that this sitcom-like lakorn doesn’t really warrant a recap. It’s one of those mindless, funny lakorns that you can sit and watch with your brains checked out. The jokes are funny, but are best left to watch instead of reading, and the plot does not thicken. But that’s really the purpose of the lakorn anyway, it’s not here to make you think, it’s a sit-back-relax kind of show. Which would be fine, but there are so many lakorns airing right now that I’d rather focus on those and put this one aside- in terms of…
