The first gentlemen – M.R. Tharathorn

lovefia

Posted on March 13, 2013

Are you ready for some bromance? The next stretch of our weekend installments is the Gentlemen Jutathep Series (Supaburooot Jutathep), channel 3’s biggest project to date, where 5 producers and directors collaborate to create a period drama about 5 brothers. The first story of the series is Khunchai Tharathorn (M.R. Tharathorn) starring Grate Warintorn and Pream Ranida, directed by P’Num. Grate plays Khunchai Tharathorn Jutathep, a nobleman who is the eldest of the Juthatheps, and he decides to take on the burden of a promise made by his noble father, who wants one of his boys to marry the lady of Thewapob’s family. He’s a professor, the n’ek is one of his students. Although, about 60% of the storyline takes place in the forest,…

The Happy Ending – Ep 15 Pon Prom Onlaweng

Posted on March 12, 2013

Pon Prom Onlaweng or Chaotic Blessings, has brought us a wonderful story about a woman who learns about life through the body of a little girl, and with the help of fate and Dr. Pathawee, she is able to find her way. It’s been a pleasurable and heartfelt ride as a whole, but the conclusion of this lakorn, the method by which things came together, was a bit too contrived and not as genuine as the rest of the story. Yet, the final minutes of this drama makes me look at the drama as a whole, and consider it as a satisfied enough way to end things. Episode 15 END Nawin treks through the upcountry to visit his friend Dr. Pathawee. It is beyond…

To love or be loved – Ep 14 Pon Prom Onlaweng

lovefia

Posted on March 11, 2013

If you can’t be with the one you love, should you love the one you’re with? That seems to be the consensus for Tanyong and Dr. Pathawee. One would think that after everything they’ve been through; they would do away with the misunderstandings and insecurities. I mean, Nong May died so that everyone could have their happily ever after. And one episode away from the finale, we get people moping around, uncertain about their next steps. Give me back my Nong May then! At any rate.. In the previous episode, Tanyong is released from the hospital. She hasn’t seen Dr. Wee since her sweet dreams earlier, so the onset of this episode has Tanyong craning her neck looking for Dr. Wee, but to no…

The End of Chaos – Ep 13 Pon Prom Onlaweng

lovefia

Posted on March 9, 2013

We knew that in order for Tanyong to return to her body- sparing her life in essence- required ending Nong May’s. But we never knew that this tragic closure to this spiritual chaos could be so heartbreaking. A melancholy episode, wishing farewell to a girl who will never reach her seven years of age, but making peace with her necessary death. For that is the only way the family could move forward, and the only way that Uncle Wee could have a normal semblance of an adult life. Yet death never makes anything easier. The tragedy stems from Aunt Prang’s nature of envy. She had hired Khun Methee’s ex-mistress and brother to rob and scare her cousin, despite regretting it and trying to stop…

Goodbye Grand Aunt, it’s been a pleasure – Ep 8 Summary of Love Scheme Evil Scheme

lovefia

Posted on March 7, 2013

Checkmate. A match between Grand Aunt and Payia comes to an end, with a loss that can never be recovered. Although Grand Aunt declares that she would have the last laugh, that she would be the person to unveil Payia’s evil intentions, she ends up being another casualty to Payia’s selfish war. Love Scheme Evil Scheme wants to portray the lengths a greedy person would go to achieve what she wants, especially when she has nothing to lose (except for her life) and everything to gain. Ultimately the silver lining in this drama is the hope that someone would wise up to her manipulations and lies, and give her a taste of her own medicine. At this point, if Payia disappears from the face…

Declaring his love – Ep 7 Love Scheme Evil Scheme

lovefia

Posted on March 6, 2013

Oh Khun Id, what are we going to do with you? Men, you can’t live with them, you can’t live without them. I would call him “Nong Id” (someone you would refer to as a younger brother) but that would just take away his domineering appeal. I must say though, Toomtam is the perfect fit for the alpha, cave man, to hell with the world kind of main character. Watching his cocky reaction and sometimes sulky demeanor truly does make the lakorn better. Coupled with his chemistry with Charebelle, I don’t even mind that the plot is not all that exciting. I just want to watch Toomtam, oops Khun Id, learn a thing or two about love and that you can’t always control or…

Star-shaped ring and the plot for blood – Ep 6 Love Scheme Evil Scheme

lovefia

Posted on March 5, 2013

Is it bad to want to see Khun Id and Korya again and again? This episode didn’t do much in that department, except for the beginning and middle, while the rest of the time is spent learning clues and Payia determining that she needs to get rid of Korya for good, such as kill her or make her disappear forever, which is quite one and the same, really. So I’m just covering the good bits and key developments in this episode. Episode 6 When Korya notices Khun Id from across the courtyard, she is a little shock. Nothing surpasses him. She however failed to see the big smile he gave her the moment they made eye contact. She tries to evade him but he…

Of Love Schemes and Evil Schemes – Ep 5 He’ll Get Over It

lovefia

Posted on March 5, 2013

Excellent episode, moving our plot forward- X-Act certainly doesn’t waste any time. Although Chitsanu is an important character that drives the story- he’s actively grabbing the bulls by the horns and saying remember me! – while our boy Id sorta just wants her to move on with him and believes he’s all she needs, but there’s something to be said about the method in which you go about obtaining what you want. And in that regards, I’m on Id’s team all the way. Also, this episode is important in character (humble) building for Id, who needs to learn a thing or two about courting a woman and Korya, who believes her past is important but she also can’t just throw away her future. Bottom…

Of Love Schemes and Evil Schemes – What could go wrong? Ep 4

lovefia

Posted on March 4, 2013

Toomtam and Cherebelle. Their chemistry is off the walls. I’ve decided that the hottest kind of pr’eks are the ones with the brave, take no bullshit kind of attitude. He’s strong before everyone else yet weak when it comes to her. And Id, our hero from Love Scheme Evil Scheme, has it in spades. Episode 4 In this episode, Korya is attending a cooking class with Khun Ying and Payia. Id assigns his devoted employee to attend as well, as a means to protect Korya. Good call, because Chitsanu was summoned by the grand aunt to inquire about the mysterious two Korya’s. The story that Payia gave did not match up: she told the cops that Korya lost her way, and told Chitsanu that…
