A sweet kiss and a wedding proposal- it’s a happy ending! Love Scheme Evil Scheme

lovefia

Posted on April 3, 2013

The curtains have drawn in Love Scheme Evil Scheme. The evil scheme had a good run, Payia orchestrated her lies, killed off anyone who knows or suspects the truth, and was able to luckily get away until her evilness was punished by death in the finale. Besides showing us that evil people have bad endings, we also can see that from the writer’s perspective, one little girl can really wreak some havoc, as unbelievable as it sounds. But at the end of the day, good people win. There are a lot of “good” characters on this show, pretty much everyone is kind and forgiving in exception to Payia, Nop and Sukkuna. Which is why I am disinclined to believe that one singular character can do…

The end is near (but not quite there yet hah) – Ep 14 Summary Love Scheme Evil Scheme

Posted on March 28, 2013

The end is near, but we’re not quite there yet. Whoops, I’m sorry I lied. But that only means that we’ll have more Id-Korya scenes right? Well, we can always hope. And if this episode is any indication, it’s going to be a rough ride for Khun Id to the sunset. I’m a little indifferent to this episode, because I feel that they took an entire (precious hour) to rescue Korya and Khun Dara from Nop and Payia’s wrath. Obviously there are purposes behind spending that much time, one, to gain Korya’s memory back and two, to kill off Nop. Despite its rationale, I was disappointed. My favorite part is the last eight minutes of the episode. The pacing is still fast and it…

Revelations – Ep 13 Love Scheme Evil Scheme

lovefia

Posted on March 27, 2013

We are in our third act, an episode away from the climax, where Love Scheme Evil Scheme will come to a closure, ending our Exact series to fourteen episodes. Payia’s greed has pushed her to the point of no return, where she will do the last desperate act to gain all of the inheritance. Korya will do anything to protect the person she cares about, that’s Khun Dara, who soon discovers that Korya isn’t just “someone else” to her, but that she’s her own blood. As usual, this episode is intense, fast paced and keeps me excited for the grand finale. Oh, and Toomtam is really hot in this episode too, hah.

The highs and lows – on The Cunning Love (Paen Rai Phai Rak) and Khun Chai Tharatorn

lovefia

Posted on March 26, 2013

Is it better to live alone than to have someone who enters your life and possibly hurt you? A person with a wounded heart, like a bird with a broken wing, feels this way about love, and is wary of letting someone in to mend it. Film Rattapoom sings about this for the lakorn, The Cunning Love (Paen Rai Phai Rak), but I wonder if he is singing about the leading lady Kemmik, who has clearly been hurt several times over, or is he singing about his character Pisang, who hasn’t quite divulged his broken hearted history? In this week’s episodes, we learn that Kemmik has decided to pursue the new “job” for money, for the sake of saving her world in essence, and…

The Cunning Love (Paen Rai Phai Rak) – First Impressions

lovefia

Posted on March 21, 2013

Monday nights just got interesting again. Brought to us by Master One Production, Paen Rai Phai Rak (The Cunning Love) features the unassumingly beautiful Matt Peeranee together with the infamous Film Rattapoom in a rom-com lakorn that challenges love in the eyes of a flight attendant, Kemmik. She is jaded, anti-men, and the epitome of a hot mess. In her extracurricular activities, plus side job, Kemmik uses her beauty and talents to test the population of deceitful and amoral men. Essentially, ladies hire her to test if their man is faithful to them. Kemmik doesn’t mind it over much, because it serves to prove her point over and over again- the lesson that men are scums and that only lust exist in their cursed…

Death comes in threes – Ep 12 Love Scheme Evil Scheme

lovefia

Posted on March 21, 2013

What an excellent, revealing episode. I could not be more pleased with the turning in events. Despite losing Gramps, death does come in threes. Farewell, Khun Chai, may your death only propel us to unravel the true heir to your inheritance. Payia learns that after getting rid of Gramps, she will only encounter more obstacles, because the truth will inevitably prevail. Khun Dara is starting to suspect that maybe this daughter of hers, is not really hers. We also see Korya gaining more and more confident to stand up to Payia. Because if the three deaths taught her anything, it is that she needs to be her own champion. But it certainly doesn’t hurt to have the uber arrogant and uber sexy Khun Id…

“You’re mine, you can’t die” LOL! – Ep 11 Love Scheme Evil Scheme

lovefia

Posted on March 20, 2013

In a story where the audiences already know who the bad guy is, what the main girl’s true identity is, and understands how the pieces of the puzzle fit together, it is important for the director to create some suspense behind how the rest of the cast will come to their own conclusions. Although I prefer to watch a plot in which I’m not privy to, I think this particular lakorn still manages to accomplish a fast pace, somewhat suspenseful ride- with the question of, will they ever find the evidences to convict Payia? So to that end, we are kept in the dark, especially this new little development towards the end of the episode. As far as Id and Korya is concerned, we…

Khun Chai Tharatorn – First Impressions

lovefia

Posted on March 19, 2013

What do you get when Thai Indiana Jones meets royalty meets a striking student? Well, Khun Chai Tharatorn of course, story one of the Five Gentlemen Series. The premise of the story centers on Khun Chai Tharatorn Juthathep (aka Khun Chai Yai played by Grate Warintorn), eldest of five siblings, hailing from a long line of Mom Rajawongs (Thai Honorables) who is a professor and archaeologist. This is where the Indiana Jones comes in because our Khun Chai Yai goes on an archaeological excursion to a prasat (ancient castle) and finds himself having to protect the national treasures. Conflict number two comes in the form of an old age promise his noble father made to his friend: that one of his five sons must…

Another one bites the dust – Ep 10 Love Scheme Evil Scheme

lovefia

Posted on March 14, 2013

Yawn. Not due to the lack of sleep mind you, but due to the boredom of being shelled out more of the same things from Love Scheme Evil Scheme. We’re not getting any closer to the goal of gaining Korya’s memory back, nor any closer to the revelation (among the rest of the cast members) that she’s the real daughter. Anyone comes any closer to the truth gets axed, and then the director continues to regurgitate how bad Payia can be by killing off Mae Cheun. She’s capable of real evil, no surprise there. Haven’t you seen the first scene where she beat the crap out of Korya? Besides, I don’t anticipate her turning over a new leaf at all, so I am expecting…

A mother’s love? – Ep 9 Love Scheme Evil Scheme

lovefia

Posted on March 13, 2013

Is a mother’s love as wide as the ocean, and as deep as the sea? Khun Dara is faced with difficult decisions, should she do the right thing by turning in her child, or should she protect her child despite knowing the whole story- or part of the truth? This episode focuses on answering those questions, as well as finding the culprit who killed Grand Aunt, and uncovering the importance of the ring. The romance story between Korya and Khun Id however, is being shoved to the back burner, teasing us with only a single scene, making me wonder if pursuing this lakorn is even a good idea. Don’t they know that Toomtam and Charebelle is the only reason why I’m watching this? So…
