Why ‘Leh Ratree’ Got It Right

lovefia

Posted on June 14, 2016

lehratree30

Among the many slap kiss lakorns and marriage contract genre who got it wrong, Leh Ratree (A Woman’s Trickery) from One HD and Exact production on the other hand, got it so, so right. This 12-episode lakorn not only dispels the standard social difference and debt repayment plot device, this show defies it by offering witty writing, compelling conflict and lovable (but developed) characters.

Channel One Found Their Hero for Romcom ‘Rak Fun Thalop’ (Chaotic Love)

This one sounds promising. Channel One has been looking for their next big star, so they decided to have an open audition advising all talents to apply. They want a fresh face to represent their channel, but they also are thinking outside of the box, they would need a compelling and appropriate show that will suit their new star. Thus, along came “Rak Fun Thalop” (Chaotic Love) which is a romantic comedy lakorn starring Vill Wannarot. They feel that it is a suitable lakorn for said star to jump right into it. Originally New Chaipon was slated for this lakorn, but he did not extend his contract with the channel, despite the channel’s reasoning that timing didn’t work out. Director Nok Jirasak is spearheading this endeavor, and they found their frontrunner in Kangsom Tanatat.

When a Man Loves a Woman – Episode 15 Final

It has been a long and rough road for our duo Dr. Satawat and Anusaniya, hasn’t it? Their love and marriage was challenging from the get-go, making us wonder whether they’ll survive their marriage from naysayers and especially Anusaniya’s prejudices. I am happy to report that I did not need to take a blood pressure medication, but I did panic, just a little bit, from the fear that we’ll get cut short of our happy ending. I’ll have champagne (or something stronger) waiting for you at the end of the recap and I’m here to process this lakorn with you (or just be a drinking buddy) if you need me. Without further ado…

When a Man Loves a Woman – Episode 14

It’s finale week and our good doctor is back! Which is not a moment too soon. Satawat shows people (and us) what he’s made of, but Anusaniya always manages to knock the wind out of his sail. Chayakorn makes it right by the people he loves and even Khun Lek follows suit. But when we start to feel assured that things may go well, shit always hits the fan. It ain’t over til it’s over. And Show still got one more episode to knock our socks off.

Meur Prab Sai Diew- Channel 3’s Charlie’s Angels

I’m just going to throw it out there, but where can I sign up to be one of Captain Chanin’s Charlie’s Angels? And where did Dream Natanop (yes his nickname is really Dream), the actor that plays Captain Chanin come from? Pardon my fangirling but Meur Prab Sai Diew – an evening lakorn at that – has really taken me by surprise. Of the best kind. I’m actually more surprised that this is not a primetime lakorn. So underrated, but highly addicting. For an evening drama, this show packs a lot of punch. Each hour goes by way too fast.

Channel 7’s 2016 Lakorn Lineup

Plerng Pranaang

As many of you may know, Channel 7 is the Big Dog in terms of receiving most audience and market share in the TV industry. They are by far the most popular and most commercially successful, due in part to its availability throughout the country. I want to preface that I am not an authority over Channel 7, and my experience and knowledge pretty much dates back to when I was still watching their shows, so pardon any erroneous errors.

But I do think that we can expect to see bigger and better projects from Channel 7 this year, as they recently won big in the Awards show, also sweeping in the Best Actor and Best Actress category. It is only natural to ramp up from this high and make more compelling and award-winning shows.

Aum Atichart Headlining Revenge Lakorn, Rang Tawan

lovefia

Does Aum Atichart do best in revengey lakorns? I think so. If you remember Jam Loey Rak, Aum plays the angry Harit who mistakenly kidnaps Soraya so he could punish her for what he felt was her part in killing his beloved brother. That lakorn was incredibly popular because Show managed to justify Harit’s actions and turn him into a loveable pr’ek despite his tough façade, especially when he found out he kidnapped the WRONG girl. Oops.

Demon’s Heiress: “Tayard Arsoon”- First Episode Impression

tayardarsoon

Tayard Arsoon (Demon’s Heiress) is bringing the spooky to this weekend’s primetime lakorn installment. Produced by D One TV, this is the third remake on the small screen, and just the mood, lighting and background music is enough to give you the willies. But when you have Benz Ponchita playing the venerable Grandma Woranat, the demon herself, you got yourself dimensional evil and a heck of a frightening ride.

Another big blow as we close out this week’s episodes, and lead into finale week next week. This episode will leave you gasping for air, crying for the higher power, and wondering if our characters will ever recover from this. Definitely it is not for the faint of heart. Are you ready? Brace yourself.

When a Man Loves a Woman – Episode 12

lovefia

Things can always get worse, right? In today’s episode, the frustration and angst gets built up and you have to wonder if Soamika’s shenanigans will best everyone and their mom again? Although she won’t win the award of ‘most creative villain’ nor ‘smartest villain’, the point is that we have a relationship as thin as a thread, and even the dumbest villain can tear it apart. Give me more of the cute, Show, we’ve already been dealt with a near blow in the last episode. This one may just make me throw something at you.
