Posted on November 4, 2012

Nong is in an awkward position. Her two best friends are supposedly dating each other, yet Amika is telling her that she is dreaming about another man while Nong witnesses Pong getting comfortably close with Khun Aon. As a friend, should she say something? Or should she watch this relationship unfold on its own? She stands by the corner of the catwalk stage observing how Amika cheers on Khun Tum while Pong cheers on Khun Aon. Suddenly Khun Tum is confused and doesn’t follow his queue so Nong prepares Amika for the stage to rescue the show. She hooks her arm around Khun Tum and walks him to each corner of the stage to strike a pose. In the middle of the stage Aim…

Kitchen Scholar Ep 5

In the prep room Khun Cheun tells Cha-aim that she has done a nice job with Tum’s make up, he looks handsome and natural. She asks Cha-aim to fix her makeup as well, which irritates Khun Aon, so she goes and gets herself a glass of water. Unfortunately the water went down the wrong tube and she starts choking vehemently. When she is able to speak, only a croak escapes her mouth. Her mother panics and starts to shake her, hoping it will bring back her voice. Their performance is only minutes away. Tum surmises that they might have to forego their duet. But Cha-aim has a bright idea as she tells Khun Aon to proceed as normal. Walking towards the stage, Khun Aon…

Kitchen Scholar Ep 4

Posted on November 2, 2012

It’s so funny to watch Tum try to find fault with Cha-aim. He’s clearly visiting his uncle so he could see her and he goes out of his way to find her, but when he is actually talking to her, he takes on his suspicious, accusatory tones instead. Such is the case in the onset of this episode, he sees her walking suspiciously in the garden, a pink something hiding behind her back. Earlier Aim discovers that her tablet would not turn on and panics because her entire research notes are stored there. After bringing it to Pong’s attention and he is able to fix it, she made her way back to the house to find that Khun Tum again, questioning her. She tries…

Kitchen Scholar Ep 3

lovefia

Posted on November 1, 2012

Witnessing Cha-aim holding hands with different guys is a recurring nuisance for Tum. Earlier she pretended to loose her wallet in front of the restaurant and now she is standing, hand in hand with the fat guy. Even he couldn’t steer away from her, how could he blame anyone else? Lol. Cha-aim consoles Waen that Tum is merely a friend. Apparently Waen has a crush on her too and he tells her that even though she is seeing Pong, he would always wait for her. Cha-aim is relieved that she could get rid of him, not knowing that Tum is watching them from across the mall. Meanwhile Pong is trying to steal Khun Aoy’s cell phone. But the little girl is possessive and smart…

Kitchen Scholar Ep 2

Tum braces Cha-aim’s fall, catching her around the waist. He notices her feet are still on the rung of the ladder and he devilishly smiles at her, roughly pulling her to the ground where she lands with a thud. He steps away and laughs at his handy work while she moans in pain and irritation. Picking a fight with her, Tum instigates that her fellow coyotes were on the news about getting arrested. Cha-aim indignantly tells him that she is not like one of them and tries to walk away. Tum still has a few things left to contend with her so he held her wrist to stop her from running away, but Khun Aon sees this and comes to his side. He does…

Kitchen Scholar Ep 1

Posted on October 30, 2012

Panyachon Kon Krua opens with a hustle and bustle. The collective students at the University are preparing to put on a show at the auditorium. The worst nightmare for any student is to wake up late for this special event. But such is the case for our leading lady, Amika, who rouses from a deep sleep at 8am, when she should have been at the school, preparing for her performance. Amika is great at thinking on her feet though, which is a resourceful skill to have, so she quickly hails a cab, changes in the back seat into her costume and when traffic deems impossible to get there in time for her show, she hops on the motor taxi and bypasses the gridlock. She…

Hong Sabat Lai: Finale + Review

lovefia

Posted on September 25, 2012

A bittersweet, no rocks left unturned finale- Hong Sabat Lai truly does not disappoint. From the onset of this drama, it is a mature story about revenge, political maneuvers and a love triangle. But what is even more apparent is that justice and karma catches up to you sooner or later. Each character has learned a lesson that changes them completely from the people they used to be and for that, we have a poignant story with such emotional investment and a worthwhile, touching journey to the end.

Hong Sabat Lai: Ep 12

lovefia

Posted on September 24, 2012

Showdowns and revelations would sum up this episode nicely. Oh and karma too, she’s a real bitch. Aor gets kidnapped and held for ransom- a one-way ticket out of Thailand for the Ponglert’s. She really should not have gone to that last fashion shoot. There were red flags everywhere, the manager was desperate and creepy, the “agency” belonged to Mr. It (that stands for Ittiharn) but Aor being naïve, couldn’t put one and one together, which resulted in her getting kidnapped and abused by the bad guys. And there was no going back for Ponglert now. He was always a bad guy, but back in the day, he had his minions commit the crime for him, however these days, desperate times call for desperate…

Hong Sabat Lai: Ep 11

lovefia

Posted on September 19, 2012

Excellent closure to this week’s episodes of Hong Sabat Lai- things really do fall apart before they could be built back up. We will see some character arc for both Nay and Siwat- and that finally, Nay and Rabin are reunited. Ah, so good. Episode 11 Recap The beginning of this episode brings Chulongorn to a junction of severe desperation. She’s getting screwed by two powerful men. While one is notoriously “bad,” the one that claims he is “good,” is not so valiant after all. Tamrong considers himself a business man first and foremost- which is an important trait we have to keep in mind- because this will carry on to everything he does. Chulongorn begs him to help her: she is willing to…

Hong Sabat Lai: Ep 10

lovefia

Posted on September 18, 2012

HSL just keeps getting better! Action packed, angsty and uber exciting. What an excellent ride through Monday’s episode. Episode 10 Recap Nay is irritated with her two new bodyguards. Not because they follow her everywhere or stand like statues, but they were simply not her bodyguard. Namely Rabin. She’s still fuming and muttering to herself that once she gets a hold of him, she will fire him. Aor kindly reminds her that Rabin had already quit, hah, which leaves Nay frowning once again. She ponders desperately to herself: where are you, Rabin? She misses him. Rabin could not stay too far away. He’s shacking up with Wichate, who is becoming the voice of reason. He tells Rabin that if he is unhappy about the…
