As Long as the Sky has the Sun – A Review

lovefia

Posted on January 10, 2021

Trab Fah Mee Tawan – As Long as the Sky has the Sun recently completed its airing on Channel 3, by Sonix Boom Production, the same production team that brought us Thong Ake and Game Sanaeha, and in a sense, brought the combination of excellent comedic timing of Thong Ake and the heavier drama aspect of Game Sanaeha to The Sky Has the Sun. As a result, this show is well-paced and well-scripted, with a great directorial hand. Don’t let the English title fool you, “My Forever Sunshine” is anything but a fluffy show, it’s a show about mistakes, loss, finding happiness, and the all-encompassing love (whether that is love directed to a person or self-love).

Check in & My Husband In Law 1st Impressions

lovefia

Posted on April 21, 2020

Hello to my dearest friends. Lakorn viewers. Good story enthusiasts. Fellow fangirls (fanboys). How are you faring in the midst of this pandemic? I hope this post finds you well in both body, mind and spirit. It will end, and we will all change because of it, but we are stronger and know what matters the most. For me, that is coffee, sleep, good company (with 6 feet distancing) and good entertainment (however you define the source of entertainment).

Waves of Life: Episode 1

lovefia

Posted on January 26, 2017

After a long wait, the premiere for Kluen Cheewit is finally here. It’s not the kind of show to watch lying down, nor is it one of rainbows and butterflies. This show, if anything, is a story about a girl against the world. I can see different sides to this story that will get people heated and argue over what’s right and what’s wrong, and what’s the truth. One thing is for sure, our girl isn’t perfect, but she can make you empathize with her plight. Drinking is a frowned upon hobby in this show, but with a life like that, what else could you do to make the world a little more livable? Pass the bottle please, but hide the car keys.

Kluen Cheewit to finally air on January 23rd!

lovefia

Posted on December 27, 2016

Woo and hoo! After a very long wait, Kluen Cheewit is slated to air on January 23rd (barring no other further preemptions), which means it will air after Kon Lah Khop Fah. According to the interview at Channel 3’s Entertainment Newsroom, Yaya indicates that Jeerawat, her character in Kluen Cheewit, is the most intense character that she has ever portrayed and she has put her everything into it. Yaya hopes that the viewers will like it and have empathy for her. While filming this show, Yaya has turned into an entirely different person, even her real life turned pretty dark for a moment in order to get into her character properly. Can Yaya pull it off? Please cheer her on as she takes on the most…

Buang Athitarn – How they first meet

lovefia

Posted on August 16, 2016

It’s so nice to see Mark’s face again. It feels like it’s been awhile. I think the last lakorn that I’ve seen of his is Punyachon Gon Grua, one of the most adorable lakorns. Mark Prin isn’t the best actor out there, but when he’s on screen, there is something compelling about him. I’m sure it’s the charm and charisma, not to mention great choices in character selection. And when you can’t have a swoony hero, at least there’s the goofy ones – and Mark’s character – Kritthon is such a goofball. He makes me smile.

Beyond Comparison II- First Impressions

lovefia

Posted on December 16, 2012

The show is not over until the fat lady sings. Airing in mid December, our new weekend primetime, Nuer Mek 2 (Beyond Comparison II) may just make it to my top 2012 lakorn list. From the production team, Metha Lae Mahaniyom- which brought us one of my favorite lakorns in 2011, Tawan Deard, a story about one man’s vendetta- Nuer Mek 2 examines the theme of good versus evil, amidst the political, philosophical and science fiction field. The story centers on Special Agent Sangkla, alongside his quirky employee, Sargeant Saming and they must stop Winyoo, the dark science (black magic) guru from finding the four divine weapons and reaching his full potential power. In the smaller scheme of things, Winyoo is the personal advisor…

Kitchen Scholar- A Review

lovefia

Posted on November 11, 2012

The girl group Olives got it right when they sang “Wow wow wow” for Panyachon Kon Krua, also known as the Kitchen Scholar. This twelve-episode lakorn creeped up the end of the year, surprising the critics and knocking the rest of the airing lakorn thus far, from its podium. Unexpected, pleasantly surprising and effortlessly beautiful, Thong production- namely Anne Thongprasom- and her beloved pair, Mark Prin and Kimberly Voltemas simply knock this one out of the park. The premise of the story surrounds Amika (Kimberly Voltemas) who is the daughter of a Governor of Chiang Mai in her last year of a performing arts university, trying to win a scriptwriting contest that will earn her a fellowship to study in New York. Our girl…

Kitchen Scholar Ep 12 Finale

lovefia

Posted on November 11, 2012

Amika is writing her script but is pensive. She asks Nong, “Have you ever loved anyone before? I’d like to know when you love someone, how does it feel?” Nong replies “Why are you asking me this?” “I’m a little confused at my character.” (so are we! Lol) “You should be the one who knows the answer better than I do! Well when you love Pong, how does that feel?” Nong asks her. Amika looks away. “Don’t tell me that you don’t love Pong!” Nong declares. “That’s not it-“ she evaded the finger pointing- “but the love I have with Pong is not the same kind of love that I’m currently writing about. My nang’ek (leading lady) already has a boyfriend but she is…

Kitchen Scholar Ep 11

lovefia

Posted on November 10, 2012

A little bit of angst and misunderstanding to make the heart stronger, at least that is the gist of this episode. And there’s the good ole, ever-present forgiveness message as well. Although we haven’t taken a full step forward- as far as Cha-aim revealing her true identity- there’s still plenty of fan service amid situations that threaten to tear the two apart, as well as a resolution to the robbery. And I’m sure clarity is reserved for our finale, which is just as well. Cha-aim decides that the only way to bail Pong out of his predicament is to find the real Ti Yai. She pretends to be Ti Yai’s pregnant wife and goes in search of Mutdang’s minion. Causing a scene by crying…
