Fah Krajang Dao Episode 2

lovefia

Posted on June 27, 2013

In our second episode, we get a better understanding on what or who inspired Mee to pursue news writing, as we glean more details in her lurid past. Not only is she battling against her bratty nephew, but she has to fend off our Sarawat Heran, whom despite her greatest intentions to steer clear, is getting ever too close to her. Perhaps this is a task for her partner in crime, Waree, who puts one of her theories to test. But embarrassing herself in the process, would be another matter entirely. We are also met with Muat Dao who from the onset, doesn’t care for Mee, and it’s too convenient to think that it’s merely a secondary character’s behavior. And on a crime case…

Posted on June 26, 2013

Taking over our Wednesday-Thursday timeslot for channel 3 is Fah Krajang Dao, the conclusion to Sarm Taharn Suea Sao series, aka The Three Musketeers Series, starring Matt Peeranee and Boy Pakorn. In this premier episode, we follow Meekana’s life, what makes her tick and how she became a crime reporter for Siam Sarn. Much to her chagrin, she gets assigned to write a charity fashion show column where she meets Chief Police Inspector Heran, who becomes quite smitten with her. On top of that, she gets a new, young visitor in town whom she must take under her wing. Lots of changes and new additions for our heroine, let’s see how she handles them all.

Coming Soon: Fah Krajang Dao

lovefia

Posted on June 18, 2013

We are closing out the 3 Musketeers Series with Fah Krajang Dao, starring Matt Peeranee and Boy Pakorn as Meekana and Sarawat Heran respectively. The series started out sweet and romantic with Maya Tawan, then action packed with Mon Jantra, and now, we have a serious drama on our hands. This final story tackles the grave and challenging issues affronting society, especially prostitution and human trafficking, which mirrors our heroine’s childhood struggles. Her painful upbringing propels Meekana to pursue crime reporting within Siam Sarn, and she meets chief police inspector (Sarawat) Heran who is not only someone she runs into and works closely with, but this Sarawat rekindles those human emotions that Mee worked so hard to keep locked up. “A man like you…

Fah Krajang Dao – Summary

lovefia

Posted on April 14, 2013

Fah Krajang Dao is the third part of the Three Musketeers series, following Mon Jan Tra (Margie and Chakrit.) This lakorn will be the third remake of its time (which is based off of a book)- but hopefully TV scene and the new pairing will offer a different perspective. J’s inquiry of a summary got me curious- and since there aren’t detailed English summaries of FKD out there- I decided to summarize the Thai one from Kapook. It is such an optimistic title for a lakorn with a dark backdrop, probably the most serious out of the three. The n’ek (Mee) has a pretty messed up past, she was raised by her aunt (her father wouldn’t take responsibility over her mother when she was…

The simple backstory – a misunderstanding- The Cunning Love

lovefia

Posted on April 10, 2013

He was the big man on campus, the alpha male that drew females to him like bees to honey. Naturally Kemmick, an ugly duckling, found herself falling head over heels for him, P’Suea (Tiger), a man with a ridiculous mane and swagger. So Kemmick was attending a frat party- and she has low tolerance for alcohol- but upon seeing P’Suea’s cameo, she downed a glass (for courage) and immediately got drunk. When she passed out, P’Suea carried her heavy body to his room (out of the kindness of his heart?) and settled her in his bed. Kemmick aka Pooklook, a pet name that P’Suea gave her when she refused to tell him her name, woke up in the middle of his bed, naked. As…

The Cunning Love (Paen Rai Phai Rak) – First Impressions

lovefia

Posted on March 21, 2013

Monday nights just got interesting again. Brought to us by Master One Production, Paen Rai Phai Rak (The Cunning Love) features the unassumingly beautiful Matt Peeranee together with the infamous Film Rattapoom in a rom-com lakorn that challenges love in the eyes of a flight attendant, Kemmik. She is jaded, anti-men, and the epitome of a hot mess. In her extracurricular activities, plus side job, Kemmik uses her beauty and talents to test the population of deceitful and amoral men. Essentially, ladies hire her to test if their man is faithful to them. Kemmik doesn’t mind it over much, because it serves to prove her point over and over again- the lesson that men are scums and that only lust exist in their cursed…

Mam Gam Dang- A Review

lovefia

Posted on July 17, 2012

Mam Gam Dang (Red-cheeked Madam) is a destination lakorn set in London where Anamika studies abroad with her three best friends, Metawee, Art and Napat. The drama introduces us to a Thai student’s life abroad, and how they remain in their familiar community: Ana works in a Thai restaurant and hangs out with her Thai friends- she even has Thai nemesis as well- creating a clear difference in social class even in a foreign country, yet indicating one’s need to connect with people of similar heritage. Since Ana and Mey are from the working class, they must work for a living while their wealthier counterparts peruse London’s expensive boutiques. One fine day, at the end of their term in London, Pat discovers that he…

And Life Goes On- Finale of MGD

lovefia

Posted on April 22, 2012

I was regretting that I didn’t watch the finale live this weekend. The sun was out, the flowers were blooming and it was the freakin’ weekend- as R. Kelly might point out. I had a great time sipping sangrias and throwing a BBQ. It’s how we roll in the Pacific Northwest when there is a semblance of sunshine. So when Sunday finally rolled around and I caught up with the finale of Mam Gam Dang, I was glad I opted to enjoy life. Because unfortunately, the ending was a total miss. It is almost as if Great Warinthorn (writer) or the director scratched their heads at the final fork in the road: I have all of these characters I’ve introduced, how will I finish…

My Reaction (Rantings) to Ep11 of MGD

lovefia

Posted on April 15, 2012

What had Ana hoped for? Did she really think that she could escape this debacle unscathed? When the plan commenced in London, she had nothing to lose. Why not help her friend out? Actually, she would be killing two birds with one stone. Pat wouldn’t have to marry Prae and May could have a chance with Pat. She also needed the money. It would be a shameless, totally wrong thing to do but she had her reasons. What she hadn’t planned on happening was to grow fond of Pat’s parents and crush on his brother so truly and deeply. Now that the truth came out, Ana has so much more to lose. Actions have consequences and this time around, I think that Ana has…

“Someone Like You”- Brief Thoughts on MGD Ep 10

lovefia

Posted on April 14, 2012

I find myself fangirling our main couple in Mam Gam Dang. When they’re together, spasm from yours truly inevitably follows. In today’s episode (10) we witness Nadol going through a riot of emotion. He feels guilty, confused, in love and then angry with himself. He is such a tormented individual. And I keep wondering and anticipating his reaction when he finds out the truth. If the preview is any indication, the truth will be revealed in episode 11. You must be wondering however, did the two schemes succeed? Meaning, did Pat-May succeed in bringing Nadol closer to Ana? Did Nina-Kate succeed in causing Ana to lose her pregnancy? Yes and no.
