Tying this week’s episodes for Game Rai Game Rak

lovefia

Posted on October 31, 2011

I’d love to tell you so far what “Evil Game, Love Game” does so well. It’s easy to believe that people tune in because of Yaya and Nadech. That is partly true, but what keeps me in my seat is the journey of their love, coupled with tension and conflicts. If a lakorn has no substance, no matter how great the pair-up, it will cease to sustain my interest. What we have here my friends, is a serious drama- even during the island scenes- and only to gain exponential in the course of its life. The question we must consider here is, are we ready to see our koo kwans go through hurdles in order to be together? Can true love sustain obstacles and barriers? Not only are they tested, we as audiences are tested as well. I just hope that I will be rewarded with my good behavior and endurance.

Why do I like episode 3 and find it so important? Because it is the climax of their relationship in the island, the turning point, the buildup, whatever- it is the point in which the way they think about each other changes. Completely and perhaps can never go back and be the same again. Case in point, for episodes 1 and 2, Saichon is exasperated by Nang Fah because she is annoying, childish, troublesome, stubborn and doesn’t listen to him. But he adores her and takes care of her- almost like a brother does to a sister. Yet slowly, he starts to get angry when he thinks Yia-Sah is interested in her (he didn’t attribute that to jealousy at the time) and Saichon finds himself constantly smiling and looking at her. He has made a lot of mistakes due to his jealousy and hot temper. By scolding her, he doesn’t realize that he is pushing her away. He starts to see the true side of Yia-Sa- in that he’s not a good person after all, he is merely being nice so he can get close to Nang Fah. Episode 3 turned sinister when Yia-Sah tries to rape Nang Fah but Saichon was able to help her in time. At that point, he realizes that he doesn’t want to lose her- especially he doesn’t want anyone else to be her husband. Where does that leave him? We can feel the confirmation in his heart.

P’Mor (Dr) in GRGR

lovefia

Posted on October 29, 2011

Pope has got to be the cutest looking doctor in the lakorn world, haah.

He shows up in episode 2 of GRGR as the love interest of Chompoo Pae (Nang Fah/Fahlada’s sister.) He’s supportive, capable, patient and oh so handsome. I haven’t really noticed him in other lakorns but gee whiz he is a cutie here.

I’ve enjoyed episode 2 but just wanted to share our new resident Dr.Handsome!

Nang Fah and Saichon are hilarious and cute as ever- this episode doesn’t disappoint, it had me rolling so many times. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! Well, let’s enjoy it until the tone turns all serious anyway 🙂

First Thoughts on Game Rai Game Rak

lovefia

Posted on October 28, 2011

When you hear the term GRGR short for Game Rai Game Rak, you would immediately conjure up the exquisite Yaya and stunning Barry Nadech dressed up in island wear, you would immediately know the storyline and you would know exactly how much everyone has been talking about this- because you are either one of them or too busy telling them to shut up.  The hype and screams across Youtube, AsianFuse and various fan clubs is enough to scare a few people away. But maybe you’ll tune in anyway even if you’re skeptical because you want to see this train wrecking before your eyes.  In which case I would say, you will be sorely disappointed.

With the combination of Yaya and Barry’s chemistry, their acting, the breathtaking setting and the director’s smart moves, we have a wonderful start to a hopefully wonderful lakorn. Needless to say, I am surprised at how well it turned out but at the same time, will continue to worship the director that brought us Sawan Biang and several Ann-Ken collaborations. I recommend that you watch GRGR (if you haven’t already) or wait until Wishboniko completes her ep 1 subbing.

Since you’re probably aware of the synopsis- from reading it on either Wishy’s site or LakornGods headsup- so I won’t go into details. However, if you decide not to partake in this lakorn or at least this episode, this is what you’ll miss:

Yeah.. I’ve been occupied- with this :)

Call me obsessed, a nerd, whatever.. I cannot get enough of Alex and Mint in Rak Patihan so I decided to compile their scenes in episode one. Oh, and I’ve eng-subbed it too, so enjoy 🙂 Most may be yelling at me, why not sub the whole dang lakorn? And I would respond with.. subbing really isn’t my forte. My video quality sucks and I can’t figure out how to make my subtitles stick out (like the black background with white fonts..) so in other words, I am an amateur and I would hate for you to suffer such low quality videos for an entire lakorn. Besides, I enjoy doing things my way, and with this excerpt of scenes, you don’t have to use the FF button that has become an ally in so many lakorns these days.

That is my long, drawn out answer. Lol, this is like Plerng Toranong all over again heeh.

Rak Pathiharn Ep 1 Recap

lovefia

Posted on October 26, 2011

Lakorn Synopsis:

Rak Patiharn (Miracle of Love) wants you to know that a miracle of love is waiting for you to discover it. You can believe it. There truly is one.. The story is about a young lady named Nichamon Chutiman (Kimberly), who has lost her parents and is returning to Thailand (after living in Sydney all her life) to search for her remaining relatives. Along the way, she faces several events which makes this very difficult as she has lost her wallet. Under extenuating circumstances she finds herself pretending to be a maid/housekeeper of Baan Sorn (a widow, her two children and younger sister) and discovers a vicious feud between the two neighbors and farms, especially with Chaithut (Mart). Pimnareumon (Mint Chalida), the oldest daughter of the widow farm owner connects with Rawipaat (Alex) who probes into the secret from the inside. As Nichamon gets thrown into the mix, she soon realizes that everything hits too close to home.

Episode one:

..introduces us to Nichamon (Kimberly Voltemas), running away from thugs in Sydney. Luckily, she is helped by a handsome stranger who left her with only his scarf. She is jerked awake and realizes that she is on a flight to Thailand. She is safe, for now.

Her mind flashes back to a time she was strolling through the park with her sick mom- who tells her- when she dies, that she must return to Thailand to seek out her grandparents. First she must find her paternal grandfather because if he accepts her, then her maternal grandmother will follow suit. Her mom said that she has wronged her grandmother and wanted Nichamon to tell her how sorry she was.

In the airplane, a Thai man flirts with her but she nips it in the bud by telling him that she has a fiancé- he’s a cop and he’s pretty scary. The stranger leaves her alone.

Little did she know that the handsome stranger that helped her in Sydney is on the same flight as well, only in first class, with a younger brother that he can’t seem to get along with. Chaithut (Mart Krissada) hounds his brother Rawipaat (Alex Rendell) about going back to school. Irritated with his authoritative and meddlesome older brother Rawipaat finds a different seat.

Quick Feedback- Roy Mai’s Ending

lovefia

Posted on October 25, 2011

I have some mixed feelings about the ending. Have you seen it yet? Let’s just say that I’m not jumping up and down. Perhaps my expectations are too high. What did I expect from an ending when we have so much loose strings to tie? There’s just not enough time to cover everything and satisfy me. I just wish directors/producers realize that the ending is just as important as the beginning and middle. No excuses! It is their duty to tie everything together and package a nice, wonderful story.

If you want to know what happened, Asianfuse has a script from the book that is eerily accurate to the lakorn, you can check it out here to understand what they’re saying: http://asianfuse.net/discuzz/index.php/topic/31547-roy-mai-act-art/page__st__1800

A few things that irked me:

  • The beginning of the ending focused too much on Bua Ngern and Siriwattana, seriously, we are done with them. I don’t pity Bua Ngern at the least and her shenanigans are so silly. Her revenge and attitude 70 years later is unrealistic and I don’t feel for her.
  • So after Rerin finishes the loom, Siriwattana’s spirit is released/freed and he just goes back into the painting, and that’s it? I thought the whole idea was to stop her from finishing the loom?
  • I thought Thanin and Wongprajan would be bad guys with better back bones, but no. Bua Ngern and Mei schemes to possess Thanin so he can kill Rerin. I can’t take him seriously when he’s possessed because he appears more like a gay person then an angry ghost. It was actually pretty funny to watch Jason portray it. But it does take the drama out of the scene.
  • Rerin gets almost drowned and apparently the water leaked enough to her brains to cause major damage- she lost her memory!
  • I want to slap her mom. She is the most useless, stupid character in this lakorn.
  • What is the point in Wongprajan/Thanin’s lover in this lakorn again? They don’t create any conflict aside from annoying the hell out of me. In the end, they just go their separate ways and receive no consequences?
  • Poor Suriya gets put in the ringer over and over.
  • So since her brain is affected so severely- as she acts like a loony child in which everyone has to care for her- brings back the ending of Jai Rao- then why did she all of a sudden become normal when she saw the loom in the basement and heard him play the instrument? I guess we can credit this to the “patiharn” they keep talking about (miracle.) Even that type of miracle is hard to believe.

What think you, are you going to watch?

lovefia

Posted on October 24, 2011

Making this post sticky for now since Rak Pathiharn is airing today at 8:30pm. This is what happens when you’re bored and you watch every youtube video associated to a lakorn- you get psyched. What makes it absurdly awesome for me, is that as I am watching the t-ser below, they are playing my favorite song by Tata Young called “Prong Nee Mai Sai” (Tomorrow is not too late) but remade by Jetset’er. I am going down memory lane- the song was popular in the 90’s. Another bonus it appears, is that the OST female version is so sweet as well by Lula.I certainly am going to watch.

For the longest time, I knew Alex looked familiar. He was Pinky’s brother in Kadee Ded Hed Hang Rak. My how the boy has grown! I’ve always thought he was a talented actor, I am curious  to find out how he will fare with a bigger role- a much more mature role.

The Heartbreak in Roy Mai

lovefia

Posted on October 19, 2011

Episodes 13 and 14 brings Roy Mai closer to the climax of the lakorn, the end all. Unless the production has decided to change the duration of the lakorn, it should end next Monday at episode 15, which I don’t care to think about right now. Why can’t this lakorn go on and on? I will be happy to live vicariously through Siriwong and Maneerin’s world, for a long time to come.

By way of summary, episode 13 marks the end of Mei as she takes her own life to prove her boss’s innocence (Siriwattana suspects Bua Ngern for slowly poisoning his father.) You may wonder how she got her ugly face after her death, well, while trying to prove her innocence, Bua Ngern gets hold of a steaming iron and unceremoniously plastered it on her maids face.

Siriwong and Maneerin are madly in love, having secret rendezvous all over the royal palace. Their scenes never get old, it is as sweet as pie. I recall a scene where Siriwong hugs Maneerin from behind and rests his head nicely in the crook of her neck, and I thought to myself, they sure make a fine couple. It was decided then that Siriwong will be the one to confess to his brother about their relationship. Being the optimist, he says his brother will understand them. Maneerin however, is concerned. She asks him, “what if we’re torn apart?” He comforts her with “there is no way we will be apart. Except in death. You are my first love, true love and only love. Always.” When was the last time someone told you that?

But, his own comment is the impending foreshadow of his fate.

What are your sensational links?

lovefia

Posted on October 18, 2011

On a day hotter and more humid than normal, with the odd combination of strong wind, and a heavy dose of caffeine at an outdoor coffee shop, I began to think about other bloggers and fellow drama addicts out there (within the internet stratosphere…) I love visiting and discovering new blog links and was wondering if you could recommend some of your favorite website/blogs that you visit on a daily basis and without it, you cannot survive? I know, I’m dramatizing it but it seems for me, going to my favorite websites has become part of my daily routine. What about you?

The Magic in Roy Mai

lovefia

Posted on October 12, 2011

I have not gone viral or Selena Gomez on you, but I’m talking about the magic in Roy Mai, episode 12. The scream that was heard through twitter did not have to do with Siriwattana hiding behind a tree, crying at the scene before him. But I yelped, or screamed like a fangirl due to the beautiful, magical buildup of that very scene.

Keep in mind that in the last few episodes, Siriwong has made up his mind to stay away from Maneerin, it was the valiant thing to do, the right thing to do. But no matter how much he tries, Maneerin would come after him, stirring the boiling pot of frustration, want and need. His pent up emotion is like the rope between two opponents who are playing tug of war, and is at the breaking point.

So now he sees Maneerin, in the middle of the night, wandering the forest alone. From afar Siriwong’s voice is laced with anger, he tells her that she needs to leave and it was her last warning. But Maneerin is made of stern stuff, she drops her lantern and prods him further. Who does he think he is to command her?

Siriwong like an angry god descending, stomps his way towards her, at this point they are so far apart. The night sizzles with energy at his anger.
