It is another rough Monday. When I arrive home from a long, exhausting day at work, I get wistful about those leisure months abroad where all I did was travel, blog and watch lakorns. Good times.
So have you seen the upcoming lakorns list? My reaction after sifting through them was ‘wowzers we got ourselves some exciting ones!’ You can see the full list on inwlakorn‘s site, but some of the top ones I’m looking forward to is Torrannee Nee Nee Krai Krong, Rak Ork Okard, Buang (more excited about Rome, not so much Rita), Rak Prakasit and finally, Khun Seuk (featuring Aum, my fave!)

I absolutely adore this picture that inuu posted on her site, it just shows how fresh and beautiful this lakorn will be! (Yes, I am very much Yadech bias!)
What are you excited about? What are you planning on watching? Any updates on eng sub for MLP? I know that it came to an end.. will catch up with it some time this week and write up a review. If no one is subbing it, I was planning on at least doing cuts of Mook and Petch.
I can’t wait for Rak Prakasit; I know it’s a remake and there is a crazy sister and is one of the love stories with a bunch of misunderstanding but I’ve been waiting forever for a good lakorn with Por. I miss watching him so much; i think his most recent lakorns weren’t as good as his old lakorns. Hope it’s good.
I can’t wait till MLP gets dubbed so I can watch it!
I’m excited for Rak Prakasit too! I love Por, he’s one of my top favorite actors and like you, I am looking forward to his ‘better’ projects. Him and Aff’s going to be delicious! I’ll definitely write a first impression on this when it airs!
You’re back! I’m interested in checking out Rak Prakasit, wonder if anyone is subbing it? As far as I know, no one is subbing MLP yet. D:
welcome back!! can’t wait TNNKK!! 😀 Haven’t seen any good new eng subbed lakorn yet..so i will wait patiently…hehe!!
Hi J and suzsuz! Thanks for the warm welcome. It has been awhile, so unlike me (wink wink). I’m not sure if anyone is subbing Rak Prakasit but I’ll def write a first impression.. As for MLP, hopefully Fun can get that going.
How are you guys doing otherwise??
Hello !
Long time no see ! Me too I can’t wait for Rak Prakasit because I love Aff and I anticipate her pairing with Por (An actor I like too). Besides the scenery looks great and it airs today !
Is that so? I’ll check it out some time after work! Thanks for the heads up!
I need a lakorn fix but no one seems to be subbing the recent airing lakorns. I think I may check out Mueh Dok Rak Ban (old lakorn with Mart/Aff/Ploy) if I can’t find anything new. Or maybe I should continue on my Sawan Biang recaps which got stuck at ep2! :p
Sorry dearie.. the subbers must have been stung by the busy bees. Summer seems to be a flurry of activities but hopefully some of the newer lakorns will be subbed sooner rather than later. So you can enjoy too!
I can barely keep up! I guess at this point I’m just going to pick and choose what I’m going to watch. Unfortunately Rak Prakasit hasn’t hooked me on Ep 1, maybe I’ll give it another Ep before I stop hehe.
Yes, you should continue with SB, I love reading your favorite snippets of the script!
Alright I checked episode 1 and I hope it will be subbed to give my final view.
Anyway, based on what I saw I can say that unlike you I like it so far. When I read your first impression I was afraid of finding it too boring and the acting too exxagerated. Besides I am not a fan of rom-com especially thai ones. But here I liked it. Pat crying, barking and yelling annoyed me to some point but I guess this is what the director wanted from her and her character is the most difficult to act. I give her props. The acting from the lead doesn’t sound bad at all. I like the heroine festy attitude but at the same time Aff manages to not fall into the overacting department especially during her bickering scenes with Por. That shows that she has improved since her JLR days. As usual she is beautiful, she conveys this classy attitude that make other girls besides her pale and she is convincing at playing a character 10 years younger than she is.
So far I like it.
Glad to hear you liked it! I’m just not feeling it 🙁 I’ll give it another episode before I throw in the towel, hehe. Por and Aff are certainly compatible though! Nothing against the actors, I’m just not hooked.
Maybe you need some “action” or epic drama lakorns again, hehe ? I finished episode 2 raw again [I know poor me] and the tone felt more serious and less light comedy and that’s good. Anyway after a long “hiatus” from lakorns maybe I found my new “crack” in it ? *cross fingers it won’t go down*.
I just need a lakorn that will consume me. Make me feel. Take my breath away. Is that too much to ask? Or at least make me spazz like crazy, haha.
Enjoy Rak Prakasit! I may be bailing out of this one =(
fia…we are on the same boat.. i loved how u described it! that’s exactly how i feel…is it too much to ask for a lakorn (eng subbed please) to sweep me off my feet and go a little crazy.. sigh~ i am watching roy marn though..about to get to the interesting part..i’ve been really patient lately..
I have yet to see Roy Marn, be sure to let me know how you like it!
Deff excited for Torrannee Nee Nee Krai Krong ! im a Yadech-er too ^^
im kinda a newbie in the lakorn world so im only fond of the new generation of actors&actresses; thus nt familiar with the older generation . (except for Anne and Ken of course)
Glad to see more updates from u Fia 🙂
Hi Cheny how are you? What Lakorns are you currently watching?
Im good 🙂 Im nt watching anything right now, just waiting for ‘TNNK’ to air. Plus im in school now so im only going to watch the ones i really want to.
Oh I might watch Mario & Margie in ‘Rak Kerd Nai Talai Sood’ too. And the latter half of the year i will be waiting for Mteam in ‘Neur Mek 2’.
Hahahh thats my plan for the year 🙂
I’m excited for:
Torranee Nee Krai Krong – I love me some YADECH! <3 Super love this couple and I think the lakorn will be good. I can't stand noisy lakorn, and I think the scenery and location is beautiful.
Khon Seuk – Love period drama! Beautiful cast. I can only hope that because of the time period, Ploy's speaking voice will somehow be less annoying to listen to. LOL No offense to Ploy. Beautiful face, but when she opens her mouth & her voice comes out, just makes me cringe.
The Sixth Sense – Louis! <3
Ruk Koon Tow Fah – Ken & Chompoo <3 Don't care too much about Cherry or other people in the lakorn, but excited that I get to see another Chompoo lakorn.
Anne's new lakorn (not excited about Mart though – I think he's a horrible actor). It's weird because back in the days, I thought he was really good looking and I loved watching him take on the mean pek role. But now a days, it's just too much. Like in Ruk Pattiharn, he just seem like a hardass jerk all the time. No redeeming quality. Too much extreme. He's either really an ass or too sweet… LOL WTF? (Reminded me so much of Rome's role in Mia Tang).
Chompoo's new lakorn… I can't remember the title.
I watched the first episode of Rak Prakasit, but I won't be continuing with it. I hated how rude n'ek was in the bookstore. That sort of behavior just doesn't work for me. And the sister is too much. Her acting is hard to digest.
Hmmm… I can't remember the other ones coming out. I was watching SSBT earlier too.
And I am sad that MLP ended. That was such a good drama. Jason Young totally rocks this lakorn. <3
Haha. Whoops. I wrote up a whole bunch. Just needed a place to share. 🙂 Thanks.
Thanks for sharing, I love exchanging thoughts and ideas with fellow lakorn fans.
I’m not a big Chompoo fan, since she hasn’t been all that engaging to me, but at least I’ll watch one episode to see if it is an interesting storyline.
A fickle lakorn fan, I am.
Mostly, I’m looking forward to Tnnkk and khun seuk. It’ll be awhile before those Lakorns are released though..
Are you still talking to any of the older lakorn/fanfic writers like back in the day?
I’m a pretty fickle fan too. Actually, I’m more picky.
Though I’m a Chompoo fan, I didn’t watch “Dok Som See Tong”. Too much for me. I like happy endings for my lakorn.
I’m currently watching (the ones on air right now) Tom Yum Lum Sing. It’s a pretty good lakorn, but the story line is getting super ridiculous right now. LOL And Zeal 5… I love supernatural type genre. So I can’t wait for Torranee Nee Krai Krong to come out. I’ve been waiting since last year. T_T
The only writer from back then that I’m still talking to is Sopha. How about you?
I’m not familiar with Sopha… maybe she had an alias back in the day? I’m still in touch with dear Lina.
I’m sure TNNKK will live up to our expectations =)
I agree with you that Rak Prakasit that it isn’t as catchy and kind of slow, especially after watching MLP. Still trying to stick to it because I miss Por soooo much; hopefully, it gets better when there starts to be more sweet scenes 🙂
Hopefully the lakorn improves as the storyline progresses =) I’m a fan of both Por and Aff and wish them well in this endeavor.
What else are you watching, R Tan?
Somehow I find myself enjoying and laughing with Rak Ork Okard. I know everything is sort of exaggerated in the lakorn, but I guess that is what makes it funny. There are quite a few new faces that I don’t recognize, and their acting are not so up to par but for some reason I just got into it.
I started watching Rak Prakasit first but I couldn’t get myself to pay attention to it, but I actually sat and watched every minute of Rak Ork Okard (maybe because ROO was eng. sub. and I could actually understand it). Hopefully, it continues well.
Great to have you back Fia!
I’m most excited for TNNKK. Aside from Yadech, the scenery is breath-taking and the story feels so fresh, even though it’s a remake. I can already anticipate all the adorableness that’s going to attack my weak heart lol.
xoxo
jjinxx
Ah, and I’m enjoying Rak Ork Okard immensely. English subs are on youtube, thank goodness, and I love this type of laid back, not overly dramatic lakorn with bits of comedy everywhere. Om has me glued to the screen.
My oh my that’s more than one comment regarding ROO, I may have to check it out!
Thanks jjinxx! I’m waiting very patiently for TNNKK.. Maybe we’ll be awarded for our good behavior?
lol Do try it out, you might like it. I find that I have to ignore my hatred for Om’s character’s so-called “friends” because they’re quite horrible, but aside from that, I’ll give them credit for getting him to go out into the world and meeting better people and learning to live something different from his spoiled life (he has his manservant scrub his back while taking bubble baths!); but even if some of it is exaggerated, it’s not in the annoying way. It’s light and fun to watch.
I’ve only watched 4 parts of ep1 and I find Om on par with Mart with his stiff acting. It’s the first time I’m watching Om so is this how he usually is? Granted he hasn’t had that many scenes in the parts I’ve watched so hopefully his acting gets better later.
Ditto on his annoying friends. The KingKong (what a name) couple appears to be sincere friends but I don’t know why he lets Matt (I think that’s his name?) hang around since it’s obvious Matt doesn’t like him.
Cherry is on the ball as usual but her character here kinda reminds me of Pai in Mae Ka Khanom Wan.
Ahahaha… I would have to agree that Om’s acting is not much better than Mart (as much as I like Mr. Dimples), but people are still in love with them.
I think you can grow to like ROO if you ignore the annoying friends and just watch Om & Cherry and some of the countryside scenes.
lol, I shall keep my expectations low with regards to Om’s acting. Hey, Mart grew on me after a while despite the stiff acting so I keep an open mind. XD
I have only seen Om in Saochai and I have noticed that he is somewhat stiff… but he makes up nicely for his good looks, lol. For some reason, I can’t say the same for Mart, hehe, even though he makes the rest of the female population’s heart go pitter patter =)
Actually I feel Om best acting remains “Wayu” in Prajun Lai Payak. I felt his pain when he knew that Aum didn’t like him and would never like him, I loved how he displayed his authority over his men and his fear and love concerning Aum. Om was great there and he looked strong and charming acting this grey character. He was the revelation of the year to me. But it saddens me to see how his acting has gone down since then ! Man is so stiff as if his features just won’t move. In the meanwhile an actor as Son is improving. I need to see the Om-on-fire I saw in PLP.
I am just worried that the Lakorn w/ Rome/Rita/Noon is going to be hard for me to watch. I know who I am suppose to get behind, but I just finished watching Rome and Noon together so it is going to be hard to let go of that. (I even wrote a story about those two characters).
Hm.. I’m not a big Rita fan, so I’m a bit skeptical with the pairing of sweet Rome with her. I haven’t seen Rome-Noon pairing either, however based on your reaction, I presume it was good?
Oh please share your story with me! Love fanfics! Send it to my email address pretty please or you can share with friends here =)
It is racy 🙂 It is posted on my LJ here http://craxycat-76.livejournal.com/ my mom reads my stories…racy or not so that is the way I post them for her. 😉 It was from Yuthakarn Huk Karn Thong that I watched about a week ago. Now if you see don’t feel bad if you point and laugh since I can take it, but try to keep it all laughter to less than a few minutes 😉
Thanks for the link! I’ll definitely give it a read when I have some time =) I’m sure it’s great stuff!
I’m a fan of aff love her work so if anyone out there is willing to sub her larkon please let me know will watch no matter what the story line become i know she has one out now that is new please kept me posted if someone is subbing it thank u
I’ll keep you posted if Rak Prakasit gets subbed =)
