Handkerchief and Popsicle To Dry the Eyes

lovefia

Posted on November 15, 2011

“If he doesn’t love you, don’t care about it. Mom always says that if someone makes us cry that means that person doesn’t love us. It means he dares to hurt us so we shouldn’t love him. That’s it,” advised Pansorn, Nammon’s younger brother as he consoled his sister with a handkerchief and popsicle. Nammon had been crying and recalling her moments with Paat, when Pansorn appeared, offering a gesture so much sweeter than the popsicle itself. Nammon glances at her picture with Paat on her phone and contemplates deleting it. If only forgetting someone or not caring about someone was easy to do. I want to give Nammon a hug. What led up to this scene was another sad matter altogether, really, just…

Together Again?

GRGR Overview of Ep8-9 Fate plays funny things to our hero and heroine in Evil Game, Love Game episode 8 and 9. After being apart for 1,000 days (Saichon cared to count) Mr. Charles, President of Seven Seas airline moves into the same neighborhood as Fahlada. I don’t think it was meant to be funny, but I found the coincidence of Fahlada’s maid nicknaming Charles “heaven” is hysterical. We have Charles as “heaven” and Fahlada as “angel,” no wonder they are perfect for each other. Match made in heaven indeed. One word to describe Charles is delicious. He exudes confidence, sophistication and so well put together. I don’t blame Chompoopae for crushing on him, especially since he is such a natural flirt. “Anyone who…

Happy Weekend Everyone- on GRGR and excerpt Tser for Rak Patihan

Posted on November 11, 2011

So it’s Friday night. There’s life, then there’s lakorn. Today I find myself choosing the latter. Game Rai Game Rak Ep7 brings Nang Fah and Saichon face to face again, although this time, they are Fahlada and Charles. Three years has changed much for them. After saving Michael’s life, who happens to be a big time airline owner, Saichon is given the opportunity to move to America- to better himself, toughen himself and to leave painful memories behind. Saichon knew he needed to leave everything that was familiar to the unfamiliar, to find his wife. Adopted and bred for sophistication, Saichon, now Charles, returns to Thailand. Fahlada returns to Thailand as well- after studying abroad in America-  she is still carefree and doesn’t take anything…

What we don’t have in time, we make up for in quality.

Which could be said for my favorite duo in Miracle of Love. I felt deprived in episode 4 because Paat and Nammon were not together, however, their scenes in episode 5 made up nicely. Thus far Nammon has finally admitted to her best friend that she likes Paat. An obvious (at least to us) acknowledgement, but a stride to the right direction. She can’t help but smile widely when she’s around him, act completely unlike herself and essentially, worship him. Which I don’t blame her. But she’s going to learn a few lessons of her own in this drama when it comes to poignant, one-sided love. As she told her best friend when asked if P’Paat returned her sentiments, Nammon says, “As long as…

So where is the real Pranom?

lovefia

Posted on November 7, 2011

Rak Pathiharn (Miracle of Love) Ep4 Paat asks Nichamon this question upon catching her on her lies, and voicing the concern everyone must be curious about. From episode 1, this notorious Pranom has yet to surface and like Paat says, Nichamon better be careful because the real Pranom may decide that she wants her job back. Paat found Nichamon, whom he surmised as the person he met at the airport because of his photographic memory, and whisked her to his restaurant to quiz her on who she really is. As they sit on the outdoor patio, Nichamon divulged as much as she was willing to as no one else has caught her red handed as Paat did: she was born in Thailand, moved abroad…

Game Rai Game Rak and Superstition

lovefia

Posted on November 7, 2011

I’m not the most superstitious person you’ll ever meet, but growing up in a Buddhist family and culture, superstition is something I don’t underestimate or dally with. For instance when a monk told me not to go near the beach or water in 2007, I steered clear-I prefer not to tempt fate by doing things to spite it. Or to eat food prepared for the monks prior to them having eaten it. However when it comes to taboo things like Friday the 13th or black cats crossing my path, I take it in stride. So it doesn’t surprise me when superstitions or old wives tales appear more often than not in lakorns, as lakorns depict the culture and beliefs of the production team. In…

Rekindle An Old Friendship

lovefia

Posted on November 3, 2011

A speculation on Paat and Nammon’s relationship thus far in Miracle of Love Paat and Nammon grew up in the vast farming province of Chiang Rai. They played together since they were children but drifted apart after Paat’s father’s death, which ignited a feud between their two farms. Nammon, convinced that it was all a misunderstanding, still holds a soft spot for Paat as she reaches her young adolescent age. She finds herself determined to join his club for the simple fact that his rejection fueled her stubborn nature. Deep down she hopes that things can go back to the way they used to be when they were kids. Nammon does everything to get into his “good graces,” prove to him that she is worthwhile…

Here goes nothing..

lovefia

Posted on November 2, 2011

I have a confession. My heart is not in this lakorn- I’m only watching for Alex and Mint scenes and it wouldn’t be fair to fans of “Rak Patiharn” to have such a bias recap every week. Therefore, I will not be recapping each episode. I’m not in the mood for average actors and shaky plots at this point, I’m merely watching this because of the cuteness between Alex and Mint. Call me lame. Even their storyline is not what you would call stellar, but they make it up with uber cuteness and great chemistry. So there, I got it off my chest. I came to this realization when I wanted to FF a lot of the scenes (and I couldn’t because I was…

Miracle of Love Ep 2 Recap

lovefia

Posted on October 31, 2011

Conclusion for episode 2 of Rak Pathiharn: can we have more of Alex and Mint please? I know they’re not the main characters, but still… Ok I’ll stop pouting and give you the recap. Starting where episode one left off, episode two has Paat questioning Nicha (Thut’s ex) on whether the Nareusorn were actually responsible for his father’s death. We get a flashback to when their father was still alive. He signed a document with great reluctance, the neighbor (Nam-mon’s dad) said it was the only way out. Thut comes in time to see the older man leaving his house. When he questioned his father if anything was wrong, his father responded with Thut’s greatest fear. Thut has to come back to Thailand, look…

Tying this week’s episodes for Game Rai Game Rak

lovefia

Posted on October 31, 2011

I’d love to tell you so far what “Evil Game, Love Game” does so well. It’s easy to believe that people tune in because of Yaya and Nadech. That is partly true, but what keeps me in my seat is the journey of their love, coupled with tension and conflicts. If a lakorn has no substance, no matter how great the pair-up, it will cease to sustain my interest. What we have here my friends, is a serious drama- even during the island scenes- and only to gain exponential in the course of its life. The question we must consider here is, are we ready to see our koo kwans go through hurdles in order to be together? Can true love sustain obstacles and…
