Prosecutor Princess – A Review

lovefia

Posted on March 27, 2012

There should not be a shortage of water supply in my neighborhood after watching the entire sixteen episodes of Prosecutor Princess- I’ve shed enough tears to sustain the demand. Not that I was reduced to sobbing, uncontrollable tears, mind you. It was more that as the storyline progressed, my heartstrings and tear ducks were simply and unequivocally… pulled. Prosecutor Princess is a story about the transformation of Ma Hye Ri, who blossomed from an innocent, naïve and priority out-of-sorts girl into a savvy and competent prosecutor. The process of her transformation was nothing short of fancy; the cases she was responsible for were not exorbitant; and the events that occurred in order to create the transformation were not mind-blowing. Yet as I watched her…

“Luk Mai.. Klai Ton” – A Review

lovefia

Posted on March 23, 2012

There is an old Thai proverb “luuk mai lon mai glai dton” which means, “the fruit does not fall far from the tree” or the English expression “like father like son.” In this particular lakorn, the old proverb is used to indicate its opposite meaning: the child is very much unlike its predecessors. Which encompasses the characters and theme of this lakorn quite well, a story bound with family, relationship and social conflicts. We have Rasa (Suwanant Kongying) who grew up in a struggling family, her mother used to be a maid for a wealthy family and her brother is a no good for nothing son who pesters his family and wife. He also believed that she was adopted because they don’t share any…

A Development on Mr. Rich Guy

lovefia

Posted on March 21, 2012

He’s so mysterious. For reasons we are not aware of, Mr. Rich Guy is both wealthy and smart. He came from a wealthy family and from the United States (does that automatically make him awesome?) And as a successful lawyer who wins 90% of his cases, he can afford to pick and choose them. What makes him mysterious is his interest in our Prosecutor Princess. I sense there is something else beneath his on-set attraction. He follows both her work progression and life. Either he’s totally in love with her or a high class stalker. I’d rather think that he has something else up his sleeve.

A look at my second K drama

lovefia

Posted on March 20, 2012

I’m a typical professional who comes home from a crazy day at work and let the television fill the void. I have specific shows that I tune into on specific days, but today happened to be one of those days where that specific show came to an end (at least the season series anyway. Thanks so much Walking Dead..) So I had to find a replacement. Imagine my surprise when I query my Netflix and discover “Prosecutor Princess” available on stream. Can I request lakorns to be available on stream too? Wouldn’t that be nice? As much as I love YT (the free aspect of it..) I love being able to watch something crisp and clear more. You know, being able to see Nadech’s face…

And the winner is…

lovefia

Posted on March 13, 2012

Thank you for your vote! While Buang and Khun Seuk came close, and ‘in-depth review’ trailed by a few votes, it looks like my blog will be Yadech spasm central once again! Come April (or is it May..) join me in weekly recaps of Torrannee Nee Nee Krai Krong starring Nadech and Yaya, a remake of the ever popular Andrew Gregson and Pok Piyada’s version. Until then, what say you?

Mook Liam Petch – A Review

lovefia

Posted on February 29, 2012

Although the year has just begun, Mook Liam Petch is a lakorn to be reckoned with and has set the bar quite high for other lakorns yet to air. With its unique action genre and progressive plot, action weary fans or lakorn fans alike, should prepare to be blown away.. or at least be tickled by the pairing and chemistry of Rome (playing Petch) and Susie (playing Mookda). From the production team Pau Jing Jong, Mook Liam Petch (Pearl Sided Diamond) is a 14 episode lakorn surrounding Special Agent Mookda’s return to Thailand to uncover the case of the stolen Adorella, which threatens not only the number one diamond company in Thailand- Star Diamond- but also national security. She must return the powerful jewelry…

What’s up?

lovefia

Posted on February 20, 2012

It is another rough Monday. When I arrive home from a long, exhausting day at work, I get wistful about those leisure months abroad where all I did was travel, blog and watch lakorns. Good times. So have you seen the upcoming lakorns list? My reaction after sifting through them was ‘wowzers we got ourselves some exciting ones!’ You can see the full list on inwlakorn‘s site, but some of the top ones I’m looking forward to is Torrannee Nee Nee Krai Krong, Rak Ork Okard, Buang (more excited about Rome, not so much Rita), Rak Prakasit and finally, Khun Seuk (featuring Aum, my fave!) I absolutely adore this picture that inuu posted on her site, it just shows how fresh and beautiful this…

Migraine Inducing – Meur Prap Por Look Orn

lovefia

Posted on January 29, 2012

In between the corny and awful sound effects, the lame, useless undercover cops and the uninspiring characters, Meur Prap Por Look Orn is a migraine inducing lakorn in the making. From what I’ve gathered, in 48 minutes time, Num plays a failed undercover cop and he runs headlong into a conflict with our heroine who raises three of her niece/nephew. You can read LG’s heads up for a better idea of the plot, as I’m too annoyed by yet another lame lakorn to delve deeply into it. Aside from that, Vicky is gorgeous, Num is alright, and the rest of the cast is just bleh. Therefore I’m just going to stick to MLP for the time being, if a lakorn appears corny at first…

Another bites the dust – Duj Dao Din

lovefia

Posted on January 24, 2012

Let me start by saying that I like Stephan. I think he’s p’ek worthy and cute. I like the idea behind the story, I do. But in his latest lakorn Duj Dao Din with Jakjaan, I am completely thrown off course. I feel that first impressions are significant. And usually, if a lakorn manages to keep me interested long enough to watch the next episode, it’s typically good. In this case, I cannot seem to get pass part 3/7 of episode 1. The pictures above depict their first encounter. The problem is that it is so typical of lakorns first encounters that I had to control myself from laughing out loud and rolling my eyes. This is how it played out: during a party…
