Oh, “Secret Garden” (Korean Drama) – Review

lovefia

Posted on June 14, 2013

When it comes to drama watching, there is no such thing as watching it leisurely, slowly. When you have the beginning and ending in your hot little hands, marathon seems to be the only viable option, sleep be damn. So yeah, I finished Secret Garden in 3 days. I feel a tad guilty, as if I’m cheating on my lakorn world, but that feeling dissipates pretty quickly. Gotta spread the love, yunno. Won’t happen too frequently though, since I have pending lakorn projects on the horizon, and I do value my beauty sleep. But dang Secret Garden was so worth the lack of sleep. I went into this drama series with no expectations, no synopsis or clue what the story is about. Suzsuz thought…

City Hunter (K-drama): perspective from a lakorn girl

lovefia

Posted on June 3, 2013

I completely lucked out on my third jaunt in K-dramaland, sparing a brief diversion from lakorn land, my bread and butter. And when this journey turns out to be a gemstone find, I can pat myself on the back for a good choice and time well spent. Thanks to Netflix, for their crisp, clear and handy subtitles- as well as the director who brought Prosecutor Princess, my first foray into K-dramas- I am able to appreciate City Hunter for all its glory. When it comes to the action genre, I don’t necessarily look for them in lakorns, or expect its endeavor to leave any emotional or minding blowing impact within the lakorn world. It’s just not the nature of the beast per se, and…

Prosecutor Princess – A Review

lovefia

Posted on March 27, 2012

There should not be a shortage of water supply in my neighborhood after watching the entire sixteen episodes of Prosecutor Princess- I’ve shed enough tears to sustain the demand. Not that I was reduced to sobbing, uncontrollable tears, mind you. It was more that as the storyline progressed, my heartstrings and tear ducks were simply and unequivocally… pulled. Prosecutor Princess is a story about the transformation of Ma Hye Ri, who blossomed from an innocent, naïve and priority out-of-sorts girl into a savvy and competent prosecutor. The process of her transformation was nothing short of fancy; the cases she was responsible for were not exorbitant; and the events that occurred in order to create the transformation were not mind-blowing. Yet as I watched her…

A Development on Mr. Rich Guy

lovefia

Posted on March 21, 2012

He’s so mysterious. For reasons we are not aware of, Mr. Rich Guy is both wealthy and smart. He came from a wealthy family and from the United States (does that automatically make him awesome?) And as a successful lawyer who wins 90% of his cases, he can afford to pick and choose them. What makes him mysterious is his interest in our Prosecutor Princess. I sense there is something else beneath his on-set attraction. He follows both her work progression and life. Either he’s totally in love with her or a high class stalker. I’d rather think that he has something else up his sleeve.

A look at my second K drama

lovefia

Posted on March 20, 2012

I’m a typical professional who comes home from a crazy day at work and let the television fill the void. I have specific shows that I tune into on specific days, but today happened to be one of those days where that specific show came to an end (at least the season series anyway. Thanks so much Walking Dead..) So I had to find a replacement. Imagine my surprise when I query my Netflix and discover “Prosecutor Princess” available on stream. Can I request lakorns to be available on stream too? Wouldn’t that be nice? As much as I love YT (the free aspect of it..) I love being able to watch something crisp and clear more. You know, being able to see Nadech’s face…
