The death of Mona and Andre hits everyone, and it makes our princess realize what’s important in life before it’s too late. Unfortunately reality itself hits Dawin who decides it’s fine time he and the princess tend to their duties, since DUTY is of utmost importance to him (or so he says). Which results in a sad, sad day to be a commander and a princess. We make progress in unveiling the true culprit and each side take measures to protect what they care about the most.

I know we’re not ready to say goodbye to our current action lakorn lineup Likit Rak and Neung Dao Fah Diew, though thankfully we have a few more episodes left to indulge ourselves, while Matupoom Haeng Huajai ended today. However, the lakorn horizon is getting serious and we should be prepared for that, and I am here if you need me.
My first impressions of Neung Dao Fah Diew feel like a long time ago. In fact, it has been a long time ago, story wise. Since then Phor Kanthong has taken us on a journey of the literal fall of Ayutthaya, the most vibrant and flourishing era of the time. Not only is this a personal journey of a man who dedicates his life to uncovering the mystery of his parents’ death – by disguising as a eunuch no less – but this is a story of Ayutthaya as a character that dedicates her existence to protecting the Thai people but only to be destroyed by the very people she is protecting.
This show never shies away from giving us high stakes. Our princess is always presented with a situation where she has to make hard choices. I like that at the end of the day, she gets to make a choice, whether that results in living or dying, because there is nothing better than to be the boss/creator of your own fate. Because of these high stakes, our couple is always pitted in life and death situations, where they continue to save and be saved, and love and be loved despite the other’s knowledge. It’s like you don’t know when you start loving someone until you already do and then it’s too late because you’re taking a bullet for them. (Not speaking from experience).

Today’s a more somber tone as Chiang Rai time comes to a close, along with the husband and wife ruse. Dawin and Alice know they may have to say goodbye eventually, but they didn’t imagine it being bitter sweet and so soon. Now that we’ve seen the goodbyes and got that out of the way, maybe it’s not in our fate to do a repeat. Fingers crossed.

Matupoom Hang Hua Jai (Motherland of My Heart) is the first installment of My Hero Series, Channel 3’s latest project featuring heroes that start out in a youth disciplinary center and are honed, trained and molded by the skilled Teacher Chantra into the best patriotic examples they can be. The series is spearheaded by Cholumpi Productions. Our first one is Techat or Ben (Boy Pakorn) who lives in California but hangs out with the wrong crowd. Princess Alice is back! That was hot to see her kicking ass again, because the strength of the show isn’t when our princess is down and out, but kicking ass and taking names. confident and alluring at the same time. Doesn’t hurt to have one really fine, really capable Lieutenant Commander to back her up either. But more importantly, it’s an episode about how you treat the person closest to you, whether that is your best friend, your no good for nothing cousin, your father who doesn’t want you to gain power, or your fake wife who is as obstinate as they come, because how you treat them defines who you are as a person.
