James Ma and Margie in Arkom

lovefia

Posted on June 13, 2017

James Ma is back on screen since his portrayal of Dr. Sattawat in When a Man Loves a Woman– which made me want to pull my hair out no less – but I was still excited to see his face. Arkom (Magic) is a story about James Ma’s character that comes back to life after a deliberate bomb that hits the airplane containing his whole family. A mysterious sorcerer not only gives him a second chance in life but also teaches him magic in order to seek retribution on a group of rich men who are complicit in the murder of both their families. It’s very much similar to a superhero type storyline where the hero has another identity and hopes that friends and…

Nai Suan Kwan – First Impression

lovefia

Posted on January 6, 2014

Melodrama is the name of the game in this newest weekend installment, Nai Suan Kwan, which aired its premier episode this past Sunday. Headlining this new channel 3 lakorn is Boy Pakorn and Margie Rasri, produced by TV Scene. Two years and three lakorns respectively later, the pair ‘Bargie’, has reunited to bring more smiles to their shipping fans. And what’s better than to star in a romantic drama, all together with cutesy animal names and a story centering around family conflicts and.. a beautiful garden? The story opens with Peck-pook (Margie) driving her father to their newly acquired home. The cinematography is nothing shy of perfection, with clear and crisp HD quality, while the score hints of sadness that indicates even though this…

3 Days and 3 Nights: Nang Rai Sai Lub

lovefia

Posted on August 25, 2013

There are only three things that our leading girl, Soh Surikarn, the number one lakorn villainess, fears: tarnishing her squeaky clean image, being a bad friend, and ghosts. Definitely ghosts. It’s one of those deep-seated, real fears that haunt her. So when a deceased mom and daughter decide to come after her to repay her debt, we get ourselves a nice lakorn trope, accidental roommates. It never gets old. Soh packs up her bag(s) for a weekend getaway to Inspector Bate’s home, who’s overbearing housekeeper is conveniently out of town, and with her skilled acting, convinces his humane side to host her. She’s high maintenance, he doesn’t give an inch: their shacking up bids uproariously funny and cute scenes that will make you grin…

Undercover Villainesse – Margie and Peter – First Impressions

lovefia

Posted on August 6, 2013

“Just because I play a female villain on TV, doesn’t mean I’m a villain in real life,” Surikarn (aka Soh) says ruefully. This is the biggest misperception and a conundrum she faces daily in the show biz, but she takes it all in stride. Unlike many daras who play female villains, Soh has her own fanclub. In real life, she is a responsible, easy to work with and has an adorably funky attitude. Not the bad sort, well, only if it’s aptly deserved. Cat fights, stealing other people’s husband and being a true villain in the sense of action lakorns, Soh can play it all, and that is why she won Best Female Villain of the Year award. Despite the stigma against her, Soh…

Mon Jantra Episode 11 Final

lovefia

Posted on June 21, 2013

After all of the gunshots, explosions and car flips, we do get quite the cute ending. Waree will go down as being the most indecisive heroine, and Sama, well, he’s gotta be the sappiest, most sensitive mob leader ever, which is awesome. So go Sama! I hope this ending brings you much smiles and joy as we close out the first collaboration between the electric couple, Chakrit and Margie.

Mon Jantra Episode 10

Oh my dear heart, I don’t think it can handle seeing Sama’s tears. And I’m so sorry show, that I ever doubted that Sama wouldn’t learn, wouldn’t choose. He’s done it all, and yet the girl he loved couldn’t see past what she hates. Pfft. But there’s tremendous development (even if it appears we’re addressing the same issue) but each character is taking that next step towards the precipitance. I like. This episode is exciting yet emotional at the same time.

Mon Jantra Ep 9

The story is wrapping up nicely, Rampang goes down the deep end, her brother is out for blood. Waree and Sama get their “awaken” sweet reunion only to be presented with the final problem. Can they get pass the casino issue? We’ll have to wait and see how everything ties up for our finale next week. — After being distraught at Waree’s locked door, Sama leaves her yet again in the “capable” hands of Rampang while he gets a briefing from Pipat. Eh, will he ever learn? Rampang looks evilly at Waree’s sleeping form and the next thing we know, she must have succeeded because Sama enters the room again. I think it’s so sweet how he talks to her as if she’s conscious.…

Mon Jantra Ep 8

lovefia

These two have so much chemistry when they are together. We make leaps and bounds, placing feelings and confessions on the table. That in itself, is the best part of this episode. The others, well, are just fillers to await the big climax to come. — After their interview with an eyewitness to Dej’s death more than a decade ago, Waree and Sama discuss the gemstone business in Trat at a coffee shop. Waree shuffles through old pictures of the gemstone mining, and Sama tells her that the buildings in the pictures have turned into museums funded by different companies. She wonders about the location and Sama knew right off the bat what she was getting at, and he will not be taking her…

Mon Jantra Ep 7

It’s another fun episode. Pipat sees double. We get the backstory of Rampang. And well, Sama and Waree continue on their ever cute bantering while we watch how wonderful their relationship continues to develop amid threats on Sama’s casino. Waree understands the whole story behind the misunderstanding with Sama, and why Nai Dij thinks he killed his brother. Things are tying up very nicely. — Waree gets escorted home by Security Uncle, who is adamant he must peruse the premises to ensure her safety before she enters. Despite Waree balking at the idea. It’s a good thing he does because the lock pad had been picked, indicating that someone is waiting for her, and not the friendly variety. Two men came out of the…

Mon Jantra Ep 6

lovefia

Posted on June 5, 2013

I love our brilliant pr’ek. He can be my hero any day. This episode is unhealthy for me, too much swooning. — The bodyguards take the stairs and gossip about their boss, serving as our commentators in this Sama-Sopie relationship. One of them speculates that Sama is suspicious of Sopie- probably her hand in this latest shooting- but is unsure of his nagging suspicions, while Pipat believes the reporter is guilty of it because Sopie has been chasing Sama for so long, and why would she want to kill him? Hey dude, don’t let your prejudice cloud your judgment. Apparently, he doesn’t see eye to eye with Waree from the get-go, so he’ll place the blame on her any day.
