The Angry God Descends- Game Rai Game Rak Ep 12 Recap

The set up to mess with Fahlada’s head commenced. Chompoopae has all of the aces in her hands and is prepared to dish them out to her sister, one by one.

In the previous episode Charles had left for America due to his father’s illness. During this time, Yia Sah took the advantage to plant a seed in her head. He told her that he was her husband. Fahlada is scared and confused. He knew who she was and has broken into her home. There were months of unexplained absence prior to her being hospitalized. Too many uncertainties to rule out that Yia Sah was lying. Before Yia Sah was able to hurt her, Dr. Wattana came to her rescue.

He too is worried. He knew that Fah was married on the island with a man who lied and was evil to her. Yia Sah fits the bill. Dr. Wattana confided in Chompoopae who brushed it off, as if it was no concern. But deep down, Chompoopae is ecstatic. It was time to play another card.

Fahlada approached her sister one morning to find out what happened to her during those long months away.

While the Going is Good: Game Rai Game Rak Ep 10&11 Recap

I can see why they cut the island scenes shorter, the last few city scenes were really, quite sweet.

We are shown the development of Charles character, who is smart, understanding and reasonable. All the more reason to empathize and love him. I really have come to like this grown up, urbane and sophisticated hero.

What led to this conclusion- although not instantly since the director kept me guessing- is his determination to get his wife back, whether that means to rekindle her memories or to tenderly make her fall in love with him again. He is not angry at her for leaving him and breaking her promise, because he discovered that she lost her memory, it is not her own doing. Which propels him to execute a plan to bring her memory back, and since he cannot take her to Koh Min, the next best thing is to reenact their scenes together.

That’s why he made her his presenter. Last week he chose her to help market his airline and she has decided to use his poignant love story for the inspiration. As the whole crew head to film on location, it turns out he also has to be the presenter since the male actor was remiss. Donning on his island clothes and reenacting their island scenes together was absolutely sweet. Thus far, every screenshot of Charles is like a vision out of a magazine. He has blown me away with his good looks as well as his acting.

Thoughts on upcoming lakorns and dare I say it, remakes?

lovefia

Posted on November 17, 2011

After creating “Chronicle of Lakorns” subpage, I got to thinking, what upcoming lakorns has everyone in a snit? In reviewing the long list and discussion at AsianFuse– in which I really need to sign up because they seem to be having a lot of fun- I found myself neither enthusiastic nor unenthusiastic about the upcoming lakorns. What does that say about the new lakorns? Better yet, what does that say about me? (Although I must say I do enjoy watching the 4+1 Ch3 superstars together, severe cuteness and drool worthy.)

I try not to hype myself up with upcoming lakorns because I like the surprising factor, I was pleasantly surprised by Miracle of Love and Evil Game Love Game. And I’m not sure I would like them as much if I set high expectations, in a way setting myself up for failure. Having said that, a good lakorn, despite being hyped up, should remain wonderful if it has a good story and charismatic actors, right? Here are some upcoming lakorns (see full list on AF)

Handkerchief and Popsicle To Dry the Eyes

“If he doesn’t love you, don’t care about it. Mom always says that if someone makes us cry that means that person doesn’t love us. It means he dares to hurt us so we shouldn’t love him. That’s it,” advised Pansorn, Nammon’s younger brother as he consoled his sister with a handkerchief and popsicle.

Nammon had been crying and recalling her moments with Paat, when Pansorn appeared, offering a gesture so much sweeter than the popsicle itself. Nammon glances at her picture with Paat on her phone and contemplates deleting it. If only forgetting someone or not caring about someone was easy to do. I want to give Nammon a hug.

What led up to this scene was another sad matter altogether, really, just misunderstandings that has grown in proportion. Nammon always thought things may be possible between her and Paat, especially now that he has allowed her to join his club and he’s tolerant around her. However, when she discovers her friend Panom, someone she has taken under her wing and loves like a sister, has been lying to her all along and is secretly rendezvousing with her intended love interest, Nammon is devastated.

Together Again?

GRGR Overview of Ep8-9

Fate plays funny things to our hero and heroine in Evil Game, Love Game episode 8 and 9. After being apart for 1,000 days (Saichon cared to count) Mr. Charles, President of Seven Seas airline moves into the same neighborhood as Fahlada.

I don’t think it was meant to be funny, but I found the coincidence of Fahlada’s maid nicknaming Charles “heaven” is hysterical. We have Charles as “heaven” and Fahlada as “angel,” no wonder they are perfect for each other. Match made in heaven indeed.

One word to describe Charles is delicious. He exudes confidence, sophistication and so well put together. I don’t blame Chompoopae for crushing on him, especially since he is such a natural flirt. “Anyone who has you for a wife is one lucky man indeed,” gee Charles, let’s not give her any hope.

Happy Weekend Everyone- on GRGR and excerpt Tser for Rak Patihan

lovefia

Posted on November 11, 2011

So it’s Friday night. There’s life, then there’s lakorn.

Today I find myself choosing the latter.

Game Rai Game Rak Ep7 brings Nang Fah and Saichon face to face again, although this time, they are Fahlada and Charles.

Three years has changed much for them. After saving Michael’s life, who happens to be a big time airline owner, Saichon is given the opportunity to move to America- to better himself, toughen himself and to leave painful memories behind. Saichon knew he needed to leave everything that was familiar to the unfamiliar, to find his wife. Adopted and bred for sophistication, Saichon, now Charles, returns to Thailand.

Fahlada returns to Thailand as well- after studying abroad in America-  she is still carefree and doesn’t take anything seriously.

What we don’t have in time, we make up for in quality.

Posted on November 9, 2011

Which could be said for my favorite duo in Miracle of Love.

I felt deprived in episode 4 because Paat and Nammon were not together, however, their scenes in episode 5 made up nicely.

Thus far Nammon has finally admitted to her best friend that she likes Paat. An obvious (at least to us) acknowledgement, but a stride to the right direction. She can’t help but smile widely when she’s around him, act completely unlike herself and essentially, worship him. Which I don’t blame her. But she’s going to learn a few lessons of her own in this drama when it comes to poignant, one-sided love. As she told her best friend when asked if P’Paat returned her sentiments, Nammon says, “As long as he doesn’t hate me, that is good enough.”

Ah, but Paat doesn’t hate you.

He’s just not yet aware of his feelings. He can’t help but crack a smile when Nammon is not looking or end up doing everything she pleaded of him despite putting her through the ringer. And even though he lectures her on, “a woman in this day and age should learn to fend for herself,” he’ll go and do the exact opposite by rescuing her. I love me a little contradiction in our characters.
