You’re so good with the romantic drama part of this show, why don’t you just do away with the action or plot or whatever you’re trying to convince that you’re good at? Those words that are coming out of Sama’s mouth- professing how much he cares about Waree- daaang, those are some good words. Keep it up! *Swoon*

Waree tries to tag along with Khun Sama on his retaliation against Nai Dij for ambushing him and hurting his right hand man, Pipat. She wants to tag along not to get a scoop and not because she’s a reporter- but because she is worried about Khun Sama’s safety. Heh, the first sign of genuine concern for our hero. But his left hand man assures her that he’s got his boss’ back and she would only distract them. At the gambling house Nai Dij is unsettled at how difficult it is to eliminate Khun Sama. A gunshot is heard nearby and the sound petrifies the gamblers as they scramble. It is Sama and his bodyguard, penetrating the exit crowd with guns in the air.…

Khun Chai Ratchanon – The Gentleman and his Warrior Princess

lovefia

Posted on May 27, 2013

The three previous sweet installments of Supaburoot Juthathep series paved their way for Khun Chai Ratchanon, a romantic adventure lakorn centering on the fourth Aristocratic brother, Mom Rajawong Ratchanon Juthathep (aka Khun Chai Lek), a civil engineer who opts to station in Nong Khai to avoid matrimony with Sineenuch. He is second to the last chance that his noble grandmother could fulfill her son’s sacred promise to his friend. This time around she is more determined to see it through, and thus evoking a higher stake (and much desperation) for this story. But Khun Chai Lek is a man who prefers to create his own path in life, thank you very much. Even though he is an easy going, flirtatious (the notorious rake) and…

Mon Jantra Ep 3

Posted on May 24, 2013

The Interview Outside, the rain is pouring against the window pane, but the inside offers a cozy, intimate environment for the interview. Waree is in a state of excitement, for she has been waiting for a few days now, cooped up on the island, waiting for the right time to interview Khun Sama. After all, to him, it’s all about timing. But Sama is in a different state of mind, anxious and not at ease, he is about to reveal his life to a young reporter whom he found a connection with since she was a child. It’s not easy divulging the past filled with pain and rejection. “Let’s go ahead and start,” Waree encourages him with a smile, clasping her hands together. “I…

Mon Jantra Ep 2

Posted on May 22, 2013

Ep 2.1 Mon Jantra: Khun Sama is such a tease The smooth boat ride brings Sarawaree to the shores of Koh Yanok, a quiet and private island belonging to Khun Sama. Her first experience with the inhabitants of said island is the opposite of warm, the assistant Pipat and housekeeper Lampang are aloof and uncaring, not to mention highly protective of their boss. But who needs a large welcoming party when you got Khun Sama’s attention all to yourself? Where do I sign up? Waree peers around the spacious living room of the island’s mansion, she had questioned Pipat earlier if Khun Sama had accepted any proposition to film lakorns on the island, but Pipat snidely tells her that his Khun Sama values his…

Simply Irresistible – Khun Chai Puttipat

lovefia

Posted on May 20, 2013

In hindsight, the powers that be (channel 3 elders that is) are probably kicking themselves right now. They knew that the weekend prime time lakorn, Khun Chai Puttipat, is in the hands of Paajaew, a more than capable director. They also knew that the storyline and script will appeal to the general public; it is after all based off of a book series, and had been received pretty successfully. But they had no idea that the combination of the aforementioned, along with a budding actor and his chemistry with his costar, could culminate into something so irresistible. It is too late to request an extension, too late to supply the demand. But that is one of the reasons why I like Channel 3, and…

“I will build this casino if it kills me. It is my dream.” – Khun Sama “This dream of yours, it is a sinful business that will encompass your life causing infinite pain and death to others.” – Sarawaree The title song only intensifies the conflicted relationship between Sarawaree and Khun Sama. How do you expect me to love you? When in my head, I can never forget The problems that keeps me up at night I fear it will be the same How could I love you? When the past will only worsen if we remain like this If you really love me, prove to me that you are confident. Wow, if this intro is any indication, we are about to have us…

2013 Semi-Half Yearly Lakorns in Review

lovefia

Posted on May 14, 2013

This year thus far has been an incredible year for lakorns. I’ve decided to compile a semi half year review as oppose to attempting to review an entire year’s worth of lakorns in one post. What is surprising to me though, is that in looking at the list of lakorns that I’ve personally watched, there aren’t many. The ones that I did end up tuning into however, are oh so good. Quality over quantity, no? The diverse and variety of lakorns released on the small screen this year are rather refreshing. We have controversies surrounding Neua Mek2– which is actually a really good lakorn emphasizing more on good overcoming evil- but apparently the government didn’t like the comparison so much- resulting in the first…

What we need in our lives

lovefia

Posted on May 13, 2013

Maybe even in society. Khun Chai Puttipat, our latest weekend installment, is serving to remind me that in a world with bad, bad men, there are also very good men too. The gentlemen; specifically Khun Chai Mor (doctor) who inspires doctors and nurses to do their best, champions the frail and underdogs, and ultimately, always chooses to do the right thing despite how difficult the opposition. I was at first blinded by his youthful flare, but after this weekend’s episodes, I am sold. So on board this James Jirayu train, as he takes us on a journey to more than fairytale conception- because he suffers from human tendencies too- but his character brings us the hope of good men. Speaking of those human tendencies,…
