Matupoom Hang Hua Jai (Motherland of My Heart) is the first installment of My Hero Series, Channel 3’s latest project featuring heroes that start out in a youth disciplinary center and are honed, trained and molded by the skilled Teacher Chantra into the best patriotic examples they can be. The series is spearheaded by Cholumpi Productions.
Our first one is Techat or Ben (Boy Pakorn) who lives in California but hangs out with the wrong crowd. He witnesses the leader of the gang shooting someone point blank, which made him grow up in a blink of an eye. His girlfriend, Hope (cameo by Taya Rogers) suggests that he get out of dodge because the gang leader will stop at nothing to kill him. But before they could run away, the leader ensnares them, with Hope taking the bullet that was meant for Ben. The loss of his girlfriend, and the reality of a life without her, prompt Ben to return to his motherland, Thailand, and enroll in a disciplinary school. He doesn’t get along with the boys at the school at first, but Teacher Chantra challenges them to think about their heroes – what that looks like and become a hero all their own.

Princess Alice is back! That was hot to see her kicking ass again, because the strength of the show isn’t when our princess is down and out, but kicking ass and taking names. confident and alluring at the same time. Doesn’t hurt to have one really fine, really capable Lieutenant Commander to back her up either.
But more importantly, it’s an episode about how you treat the person closest to you, whether that is your best friend, your no good for nothing cousin, your father who doesn’t want you to gain power, or your fake wife who is as obstinate as they come, because how you treat them defines who you are as a person. Dawin learns that if you loosen the reigns a little bit, they might just surprise you and show you what they’re made of.

Well, no one ever claimed protecting a princess is easy, especially with one as strong willed and busy body as Alice. This episode brings Dawin to the onset of duty and love, though duty is heavy at this point, I’m hoping love would kick in soon? We can have both, Show!

Hey guys! It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s Likit Rak Day!
You know I was just thinking – while watching this – of the 3Zaap interview with Yaya Nadech this weekend. Yaya said she really struggled playing Princess Alice. There were times when she didn’t know how to portray the complicated emotions – like when she was crowned, people hate her, so is she supposed to act happy or angry or sad? Another interesting part is learning (me, not Yaya) that Anne Thong is a very strict and detail oriented producer. She sure has high expectations. There was a part where Anne would call up Nadech and ask him if he no longer wants to play Commander Dawin. Hot damn, I would feel nervous too! Nadech would panic and ask her if he did something wrong. Lol! She would also call up Yaya (who avoids her phone call until she couldn’t) and ask her why she would act a certain way in some scenes. I know she’s just trying to understand their thought process, but it can come off as being a little nerve wracking. No one likes getting a call from the boss. #bosslady

I like where we’re headed already, despite how we got there. There are twists and turns in order to establish one mission, nothing is ever easy to come to a decision in this world, especially when life and death is at stake. King Henry must do something drastic to protect his Crown Princess and Commander Dawin has to make a decision personally and professionally.

Hot damn. Those are two words to describe the first episode of Likit Rak aka The Crown Princess. As many of you know, I am a pretty hardcore Yadech fan as any, but to be honest, I was a bit gun shy about having any expectations for their current collaboration, Likit Rak, I learned that it’s always best to go in with zero expectations these days. And I’m sure glad I did, because I like what I’m seeing already. I’ll keep hopeful optimism that it stays good, since this is brought to us by director Ampaiporn and the producer Anne Thongprasom. It’s shot like a movie with stunning cinematography, excellent score, and seriously such eye candy I can’t look away. Simply put, it’s beautiful. I’m picking this one up as my next recapping project, I will preface that turnaround time will be snail paced, because yunno, I don’t decide my time anymore, but I know you guys like to read and share your thoughts even after watching. And so, here we are. #happybelatedmothersday

Neung Dao Fah Diew – starring James Jirayu and Taew Nataporn – takes us to the end of an era. The Ayutthaya era that is. It is no longer the charming, easy going, and thriving world that Buppae Sunniwas presented, in fact this time period is a darker time, where the Thai people struggled against Burmese power, as well as their own people, who must decide whom to strike their allegiance. Do you stay loyal to the King, or save yourself by aligning with the winner? In this world, looking out for yourself will paint you as a traitor, and you’ll struggle for the rest of your life, trying to bury that truth.
The lucky students of Rajabhat University in Udon Thani get a treat during a seminar with Udom Taepanich aka Nose, a comedian, artist and writer. One of the students inquired whether he has seen Buppae Sanniwas (the crowd grins widely, appreciating the question) and whether he believes in ghosts. P’Udom replies that he does not watch lakorns, but it has been the talk of the town so he figures he’ll check it out.

Thailand is still feeling the effects of Buppae Sanniwas fever, so several commercials featuring the cast continue to materialize. Case in point, the latest commercial for TrueTaoGae (TruePointandPay) 4.0 app tailored for shop vendors, featuring Pope Thanawat. I’m covering the recap for this commercial because it just so happens to tease us with the premise of Phor Daed time traveling to the present. Dreams do come true, if only for five minutes.
