Game Sanaeha – Round 8

lovefia

Posted on July 18, 2018

Put your boxing gloves on, this round packs a punch or two or three. It all leads to the road to marriage, and a handy diversion to get there. Do people still marry to show “responsibility” for their inexcusable (not to mention criminal actions)? Should you be forced to marry someone when they set out to rape you with the excuse that they really want you, and that other than the whole unwillingness part, you are supposedly suitable to each other in every way? Apparently grandma is still stuck in the 40s but thankfully everyone else concurs that that is cray, and the man belongs in jail or somewhere far away that he won’t harm Thai women. But what about women in other parts of the world? You have to save them too, Show! Save the planet from douchebags like Wuttha (and Penny too while we’re at it.)

Game Sanaeha – The Game of Cat and Mouse – Round 7

lovefia

Posted on July 16, 2018

Much of this episode features our characters playing a game of cat and mouse with each other; with everyone staging an epic reveal but ultimately not getting the result they anticipated. On the one hand the episode felt sleepier because Nai and Nok’s scenes are reduced compared to other characters’ scenes that I care little about, but on the bright side, the culmination of the scenes led to a noticeable shift in their dynamic. Even though Nok is spouting the same things she has always denigrated about Nai, those things take on a surprising, new meaning. It’s not a happy episode by any means, but their sadness brings about a welcoming change. Because in the past those barbs felt like a spoilt brat’s tirade, but now those barbs come from a place of hurt. And if it should hurt, it might as well hurt real good.

Game Sanaeha – Round 6 – Operation: Change World

lovefia

Posted on July 11, 2018

Life has been really busy for me, so apologies for a mini recap – instead of the more detailed one – and I’m anticipating that it will get even busier what with the million and one things that I take on in both my personal, professional and blog life. I will endeavor to recap as much as possible before each new episodes air, so I appreciate your patience and understanding. I know that this show is being fan subbed, and that some of you like to stop by to read my thoughts and share your thoughts with me (thank you!) so it takes the pressure off of recapping every little thing. – Fia

Someone once said that if you wish to change the world, you should start with yourself first. And I think that the idea came to a head in this last couple of episodes, especially today, where Meunchanok comes up with a recycle campaign slogan: Change World, where her company would partner with a plastics manufacturer to create beautiful furniture made out of recycled plastics and donate to charity, not only for a good cause, but to teach the world that if they recycle properly, trash too can be transformed into a thing of use and beauty. But this perspective must start from her: Meunchanok must truly believe the value of “trash” and we see that her thinking begins to change along with the campaign.

Game Sanaeha – Round 5

I was torn about which picture I wanted to feature on this episode but ended up with Luckanai lifting his face to the rain, because much of this episode is about learning to embrace the pain, understanding our flaws and accepting our issues. But the person who crushed me today is Meunchanok. Even though she’s pretending to be fake, ends up being the most honest of them all. Let’s all hope that the honesty gets soaked up before the other shoe drops. Every mother, father, daughter, and sons for themselves.

Can one get any better than Nadech doing J Jetrin’s cover?

I think not. We all know Nadech Kugimiya is pretty darn great, but in the latest appearance in Mai’s 30th anniversary celebration concert, he is damn near perfection. I say this not only because he can act and sing and dance, but the way that he does all of those things conjure up so much nostalgia of the 90’s that it took me back to the teenage youth of my era.

Game Sanaeha – Round 4

lovefia

Posted on July 4, 2018

This round is delicious. Meunchanok launches her new game plan on Luckanai but as she fakes her niceties, she doesn’t realize that she’s also putting down her defenses and letting him in. Luckanai determines that two can play this game and evens out the playing field, but at the end of the day, his heart just wants what it wants, and he uses the opportunity to show her what she has failed to see all this time.

Game Sanaeha – Round 3

lovefia

Posted on July 2, 2018

Don’t let this pretty face fool you. It’s an all-out war now. Luckanai has always played the guardian angel to Khun Nu Nok spoiled, inconsiderate ways, but her harsh accusations and move at the beach prompts him to declare a war of his own: one that will not allow her to push him around anymore. Meunchanok on the other hand devises a plan to move him into checkmate position, hoping her plan will work by using the one very important thing against him.

Weekend Watch: My Hero Series 2&3

lovefia

Posted on July 1, 2018

What is everyone watching these past few weekends? Are you staying on top of currently airing weekend lakorns or catching up on past lakorns? Weekends are tough on my schedule, so I don’t usually have time for lakorns, but I still try to tune in on Sunday nights and see if any of the weekend installments catch my eye. I’m here to report that both aren’t really my cup of tea, but maybe it could be yours?

Favorite Scene in Kharm See Than Dorn

lovefia

Posted on June 29, 2018

Is someone cutting onions in here?

There is a particular scene in Kharm See Than Dorn that will be hard to beat throughout the rest of the show, for me it will go down as one of the scenes that I will remember this show by. As a side note, this show does get bogged down with different (irrelevant) side storylines, and if you’re not going to watch this show for that reason, this particular scene sums up the goal of the story.

Game Sanaeha – Round 2

lovefia

Posted on June 26, 2018

This game isn’t merely a war game that Meunchanok has wreaked on Luckanai, but she’s starting a war with everyone. But when you start so many games, can you really keep tabs on what you’re playing, much less the score? But nothing is going to stop Meunchanok from trying. Thank goodness there’s Luckanai to keep her in check. Game on.

On a random note, PSA: who here wants to do a better job recycling after this episode?
