This show has me flip flopping like no other. I am one moment – I love you – than another moment – I dislike you. This third episode has me in the ‘I must be crazy to love you’ camp. The tone is still very dark, I think Aum’s character will forever be a dark character, but we are seeing how shadows have casted themselves on him and how he struggles with other people’s perception of him. He’s likened to a beast – very Beauty and the Beast esque – if you will. This show is fifty shades of crazy. It’s like Jam Loey Ruk all over again, only we have an innocent child in the mix and an unlikable heroine. I can handle crazy so long as there are characters I care about, but unfortunately I’ve cringed my way through the entire airtime. There is only so much I can support and understand a hero and his batshit crazy shenanigans, when I don’t have anything to root for. It’s exhausting.

Wednesday-Thursday just got very interesting. From the minute the first episode of Rang Tawan aired to the very last second, Aum Atichart owns his character Khun Suriyen aka Nai Pu. His acting is always captivating, but when given a character as dark and mysterious as Khun Suriyen, Aum is the perfect choice to take this character to the next level. When he’s on screen, everyone else pales. Seriously, I can’t stop staring. Not only does he look SO good and SO handsome, he sucks me into his character, I no longer see Aum on screen, but Khun Suriyen. How could a fan ask for more? Gah.

It has been a long and rough road for our duo Dr. Satawat and Anusaniya, hasn’t it? Their love and marriage was challenging from the get-go, making us wonder whether they’ll survive their marriage from naysayers and especially Anusaniya’s prejudices. I am happy to report that I did not need to take a blood pressure medication, but I did panic, just a little bit, from the fear that we’ll get cut short of our happy ending. I’ll have champagne (or something stronger) waiting for you at the end of the recap and I’m here to process this lakorn with you (or just be a drinking buddy) if you need me. Without further ado…
It’s finale week and our good doctor is back! Which is not a moment too soon. Satawat shows people (and us) what he’s made of, but Anusaniya always manages to knock the wind out of his sail. Chayakorn makes it right by the people he loves and even Khun Lek follows suit. But when we start to feel assured that things may go well, shit always hits the fan. It ain’t over til it’s over. And Show still got one more episode to knock our socks off.
Another big blow as we close out this week’s episodes, and lead into finale week next week. This episode will leave you gasping for air, crying for the higher power, and wondering if our characters will ever recover from this. Definitely it is not for the faint of heart. Are you ready? Brace yourself.
Things can always get worse, right? In today’s episode, the frustration and angst gets built up and you have to wonder if Soamika’s shenanigans will best everyone and their mom again? Although she won’t win the award of ‘most creative villain’ nor ‘smartest villain’, the point is that we have a relationship as thin as a thread, and even the dumbest villain can tear it apart. Give me more of the cute, Show, we’ve already been dealt with a near blow in the last episode. This one may just make me throw something at you.
Can we just lock our couple on the island and throw away the boat key? But I guess that only prolongs the inevitable. No one ever said Show gives us the easy way out. Trust must be earned, and all that walking over hot coal barefooted mumbo jumbo.
SO. FRICKIN. CUTE. When all of the misunderstandings fade away and pride is stripped, what you have left is just a man and his woman. Sparks fly and romance takes center stage. Grab a pillow, you might need it to silence the squeal that you’re about to express.
