Mario Maurer in a new romcom with Mint Chalida

lovefia

Posted on December 29, 2014

Currently in fitting status, Song Hua-Jai Mee Peur Ter (Two Spirits’ Love) will star first time pairing Mario Maurer and Mint Chalida. I love that the poster looks like a movie poster – this series will be produced by the makers of Fai Rak Plerng Kaen – and this will be their second attempt in the lakorn stratosphere. I think Mario in anything is a great choice if you want to redeem yourself from your lackluster premiere.

Nadech Kugimiya and Mew Nitha to headline new lakorn ‘Tarm Rak Keun Jai’

lovefia

Posted on September 26, 2014

“New” would be a relative word, since this is a remake lakorn from its original inception in 1998, but it’s a new lakorn for our leads who are collaborating together for the first time. Tarm Rak Keun Jai (which literally means pursue love back to the heart) is a romantic, easygoing story taken place at a farm. Nadech will take on a farm owner named Singh and with his new, rugged look, he’ll be the dreamy image that manifests itself out of the book. Mew plays Nuna who has been estranged from her long lost father, played by Au (the original hero from 1998), and she will be on a mission to find him. Then turns out, Au’s character (Rarm) will fall in love…

First Look at ‘Ka Badin’

lovefia

Posted on July 22, 2014

Yes please. Finally. It’s been SO long since we got to see the adorable James Ma. If you are a fan you would not easily forget his portrayal of Khun Chai Ronnapee, nor forget his penchant to march into dangerous waters and singlehandedly kick some ass.  No one does action scenes like James Ma, nor look as good while doing it. Like a true action hero, he ignores the camera angles and just gets things done. Perhaps we credit the director. Perhaps it’s James Ma. I for one cannot conjure another name.

Nadech and Yaya in 3 Zaap – The Conclusion

lovefia

Posted on March 8, 2014

It is evident by the end of part one of 3 Zaap show that the hosts and fans alike are rooting for the onscreen sweetheart couple, Nadech and Yaya, to be a real life pair. The second part if anything, fuels the fire and gives us comfort in questions left unanswered. We continue where we left off: talks of doing merits together. Questions arise regarding Nadech’s ordination service, and he replies that due to his workload, he is unsure of when he can ordain. However it is always in the back of his mind that he would, maybe when he turns 25. In Thailand, sons participate in ordination service for a period in order to bring merit to their parents. It’s a necessary act…

Nadech and Yaya in 3 Zaap

lovefia

Posted on February 26, 2014

Fans of Nadech and Yaya get ready to squeal, there’s a 30 minute fangirl moment in 3 Zaap that only reiterates how cute these two are together. Although they’re really not “together” if you get my meaning. We open with the crowd going wild as the three cohosts of 3 Zaap strike their poses and introduce the screaming crowd to the beloved on screen pairing: Nadech and Yaya. In this show the lovely duo will discuss their first impressions with each other and how they’ve gotten closer after all of the lakorns they’ve been paired together: Duang Jai Akkanee, Game Rai Game Rak, Torranee Nee Nee Krai Krong, and now, Rising Sun Series: Roy Fun Tawan Deurd. Not an empty space in the studio,…

The Boy is Mine – Samee Tee Tra

lovefia

Posted on February 13, 2014

Pope Thanawat plays the boy that is wedged between Ploy Chermarn and Jui Jiranan in this epic romantic battle in Samee Tee Tra. The lakorn is a battle of the wills, with wit matching wit and seeing who comes out on top. In the original version, with the director Anne Thonprasom playing the main character, she had always stood out on top. No question about it. But what’s exciting about this newest rendition is that we have two leading ladies who are excellent actresses in their own right duking it out in this lakorn. Will Ploy outperform Jui who recently found a new home in Channel 3, or will Jui put on a performance of her life and steal the hearts of channel 3…

Andrew Gregson returns to the small screen with new lakorn

lovefia

Posted on October 5, 2013

I need a fangirl moment and screeammmmm. It’s Andrew Gregson, the god of all things lakorn fever. He has been a force to be reckoned with back in the heydays. I mean directors are still remaking his lakorns: Torranee (’98), Rak Kerd Nai Talad Sod (2001). And still a few others that need to be brought back to life: Look Mai Klai Ton (2000), Musaya (2000), and Tang Parn Kammathep (2001). After a hiatus from primetime television and the unsuccessful Kehas See Dang in 2011, Komchadleuk has revealed that Andrew has been casted for a playboy role in a romantic comedy, brought to us by Act Art production. It will be part three of a five part series entitled Mafia Leurd Mungkorn, alongside an…

Perd Gong Wic 3 Recap: Rak Kon Tao Fah

lovefia

Posted on July 23, 2012

Ken Theeradeth’s handsome face greets us as he explains the meaning of the title, Rak Kon Tao Fah. “The term Rak Kon Tao Fah is actually referred to moms. It’s like when we were children and we try to express how much we love our moms, we would say “rak mae tao fah” (which means I love you this BIG, to the sky, imagine the arm spreading wide action.) “ His on screen mom’s voice tells us that if we didn’t have a child, we wouldn’t know what it’s like. She has raised her son since he was a wee child until he’s a grownup, then one day some random girl would show up and take the one thing that we love away from…

Thoughts on upcoming lakorns and dare I say it, remakes?

lovefia

Posted on November 17, 2011

After creating “Chronicle of Lakorns” subpage, I got to thinking, what upcoming lakorns has everyone in a snit? In reviewing the long list and discussion at AsianFuse– in which I really need to sign up because they seem to be having a lot of fun- I found myself neither enthusiastic nor unenthusiastic about the upcoming lakorns. What does that say about the new lakorns? Better yet, what does that say about me? (Although I must say I do enjoy watching the 4+1 Ch3 superstars together, severe cuteness and drool worthy.) I try not to hype myself up with upcoming lakorns because I like the surprising factor, I was pleasantly surprised by Miracle of Love and Evil Game Love Game. And I’m not sure I…
