I need a fangirl moment and screeammmmm. It’s Andrew Gregson, the god of all things lakorn fever. He has been a force to be reckoned with back in the heydays. I mean directors are still remaking his lakorns: Torranee (’98), Rak Kerd Nai Talad Sod (2001). And still a few others that need to be brought back to life: Look Mai Klai Ton (2000), Musaya (2000), and Tang Parn Kammathep (2001).

After a hiatus from primetime television and the unsuccessful Kehas See Dang in 2011, Komchadleuk has revealed that Andrew has been casted for a playboy role in a romantic comedy, brought to us by Act Art production. It will be part three of a five part series entitled Mafia Leurd Mungkorn, alongside an interesting slew of casts: Ananda, Ken, Boy, Kimberly, Cherry, Janie.  The names P’Dang and P’Off should spur memories of Khunchai Ratchanon, Roy Mai, and Rak Kerd Nai Talad Sod. Andrew and the producer/director have maintained closeness since the filming of 12 Rasee back in 2003, and so it’s a natural teamwork for this new project.

The even bigger news here is his pairing with Taew Nattaporn, who has become one of the best actresses for Channel 3- she’s got both the smarts, looks and acting chops- not to mention the ratings and successes that trail after her lakorns wake. Granted, there’s certainly a lot of things that can go awry during a casting for a lakorn, and anything can happen between now and fitting day. However, if Andrew Gregson is returning to the small screen and pairing with Taew Nataporn, it’s a ship I’m totally boarding. In fact, it’s such an exciting prospect, I’ll be keeping a close eye on this little gem, and maybe even the whole series.

Next year the mafias are taking over, whether they are the mafias in Thailand (Mafia Leurd Mungkorn) or the mafias in Japan (Rising Sun Series.)  So goodbye gentlemen and hello..gangstas?
