Thanks so much for participating in the poll! The list of upcoming lakorns on the poll are ones that I plan on watching anyway, but your vote gives me a good idea on what you’d like to read and follow. To that end, I will be recapping the following lakorns to their completion:

Into the Desert: Fah Jarod Sai

lovefia

Posted on August 21, 2013

Sky Meets Sand (Fah Jarod Sai) is a novel inspired lakorn, based in the vast expanse of the Arabian desert, that conjures up a story seemingly removed from the Thai culture, depicting a far away land, and far away characters, into a world of extremes. It’s not your friendly or mystical Arabian Nights nor Aladdin, but a tale of plots and twists, through the eyes of Michelle De La Roni (Kwan Usamanee), and how she deals with being a deer in the headlights. Michelle really just wants to belong in this world that has rejected her. Made orphaned after an airplane accident that claimed her parents lives, her Aristocratic French grandparents abandoned her to a convent, due to her mixed heritage, apparently only claiming…

[Open Thread] #1 Summer | Recap requests

lovefia

Posted on August 12, 2013

It’s almost mid August- where has the summer gone? The ‘dog days of summer’ certainly doesn’t pertain. What are you guys up to? Have vacationed to? Planning on going? And most importantly, what lakorns are you watching or spazzing over? It seems this August, there’s not a lot of lakorns to get too excited about, or bent out of shape for. I’m watching Kaen Saneha and Nang Rai Sai Lub, with a whole lot of fast forwarding. Certainly makes the watching go by faster, but leaves me wondering, what next? It appears that (at least for me anyway) after the Gentlemen Series ended, I’m left adrift, wondering which shore to swim to. Which is totally appropriate, since I’m going to be swimming in San…

Guest Writer Jia on Khun Samee Kamalor Tee Rak Episode 9

lovefia

Posted on August 11, 2013

~episode 9~ Having escaped from Grandma’s place before dinner time, Don and Pim head over to MK for a steamboat session where Don teases Pim for being so ‘rai’ with Grandma and Garaged. Don notes that Pim likes having steamboat and Pim replies, ‘It’s not just me, my family likes it too. It’s like spending time with people you love.’ ‘Everyone likes spending time with those they love.’ Don looks pointedly at Pim while saying this. Awww. Pim does her embarrassed half smile and changes the topic by suggesting they go shopping for household items after eating. Suddenly! Out pops stalker Driwin and he stands in the distance watching on as Don and Pim talk happily over food.

How Saila became the Flame Rose (Kularb Fai)

lovefia

Posted on August 9, 2013

Saila (Sara Legge) never knew that she had always been the chosen one. She is much too busy being the head of the household and taking care of her two younger sisters (Da and Orn) and her younger brother (Tong.) Life handed her a lot of lemons: her father died protecting his country and her mother’s life was taken by a vicious car accident. Thus she had to drop out of college to support her siblings. During this trying time, her boyfriend Chutchid (Nott Vorarit) had been her rock and practically saving her: buying her a home, giving her a job. Even though they were about the same age and he rose to riches and climbed the company ladder beyond anyone’s imagination, Saila was…

Undercover Villainesse – Margie and Peter – First Impressions

lovefia

Posted on August 6, 2013

“Just because I play a female villain on TV, doesn’t mean I’m a villain in real life,” Surikarn (aka Soh) says ruefully. This is the biggest misperception and a conundrum she faces daily in the show biz, but she takes it all in stride. Unlike many daras who play female villains, Soh has her own fanclub. In real life, she is a responsible, easy to work with and has an adorably funky attitude. Not the bad sort, well, only if it’s aptly deserved. Cat fights, stealing other people’s husband and being a true villain in the sense of action lakorns, Soh can play it all, and that is why she won Best Female Villain of the Year award. Despite the stigma against her, Soh…

Dao Reurng Episode 11 Final

lovefia

Posted on August 5, 2013

Ah, our latest weekend installment has come to its conclusion, ending with eleven episodes. Which in and of itself is very short, considering the amount of time it took to film this funny gem. Remember how long we waited for its debut? I mean, this project has been determined since the inception. Is it me or has channel 3 lakorns seemingly gotten shorter and shorter? We are used to the norm of at least fifteen episodes, but after the Gentlemen Juthathep and 3 Musketeers Series, everything just seems to be unfortunately compressed. Which for many lakorns, it’s not an entirely bad thing, because we don’t want it to drag, but for some, we want it to go on and on. Dao Reurng is a…

Dao Reurng Episode 10

lovefia

Posted on August 5, 2013

We are one episode away from the finale where the story brings the cast together to eliminate the baddies. But it’s no easy feat, as our heroine comes to realize, because the closer they are in tying up the loose ends, the faster they are in saying goodbye. She is not prepared to learn of our hero’s relationship status, and doubly not prepared to admit her feelings for him. It’s a whole mixed bag of fun- action, brooding and laughter. Always the laughter. This episode came in at a rating of 15.1 in Bangkok, maintaining its steady, if not incrementing number. The ending came in at 16.1, woot, can’t wait to get there! So without further ado..

Guest Writer Jia on Khun Samee Kamalor Tee Rak Episode 8

lovefia

Posted on August 2, 2013

After putting away her things, Pim sees Don napping on the sofa and gets him to rest his head on a cushion to make him more comfortable. She feels his warm body heat at contact and is concerned that he might be unwell. When Don offers to makes her some food, Pim insist on taking on the task instead. Pim has heart but no talent when it comes to cooking so the best she can do is prepare a piping hot bowl of cup noodles. Haah. Nevertheless, Don is simply happy that Pim wants to make him something and they share the noodles sweetly. Pad creeps into the apartment and tells Min to put their plan into action tomorrow.
