Happy weekend, everyone. It’s been awhile since we had an open thread, what’s going on in your life? What are you watching?
Happy weekend, everyone. It’s been awhile since we had an open thread, what’s going on in your life? What are you watching?
I read an article today about the trends that will shape consumer behavior this year. One of the things the author mentioned is “escape,” which speaks to our world of austerity and grown up responsibility, and that in the midst of all of the daily responsibilities, we feel the overwhelming desire to let loose and let go. I find that this item speaks to my inability to remain still in this past month. I’m constantly seeking travels and wanderlusting activities where I can forget for a moment that I have work and bills to pay. I drive myself to the point of exhaustion balancing work and play, when really, what I should be doing is simply nothing. My company is sending us on a…
That’s Taya Rogers. Who do you follow on social media these days? We have twitter, instagram, facebook.. it’s all so very much to keep tabs on. Personally, I don’t care much about celebrities outside of their lakorn world – because I watch lakorns to fall in love with the story and characters – and usually turn the other cheek when it comes to celebrity scandals. But much of celebrity gossip is a guilty pleasure for many, and I can’t hate on that. On that note, I follow Taya on instagram because she posts little nuggets of wisdom that helps her through the day, she sends out positive energy to the cosmic world, and she also posts delicious food. If you’ve seen the original Prissana,…
What’s up Lovelies! I hope all is well in your world, whether you’re busy with work, school, life or even dramas. For the next couple of weeks, I will be unavailable due to travels and finalizing my sister’s wedding. I’m so very happy for her and can barely contain myself. Upon returning after fourth of July weekend, my focus will be on the Rising Sun Series, starting with Roy Rak Hak Liam Tawan with Mario and Taew. Since their collaboration in Arrogant Flame (Plerng Torranong) I’ve been quite enamored with this duo. Following that will be Lom Son Rak. Depending on how engaging the first episode will be – which, hello, how could it NOT be? – I may recap those series. This has…
What’s up you guys?! Has anyone noticed that this thread magically appears when I’m magically not here (blogging)? Sigh, to my dearest Lovelies (this is my endearment to you moving forward.. inspired by the Darklings of Darkness Lakorns!) life is but a crazy whirlwind ride lately. I’m sad to say this, but I’m going to put Fai Nai Wayu (sorry Aum!) on hold. My sincerest apologies that I can’t keep FNW going, but I’m already so far behind! The subbers at Viki are diligently hammering away, so don’t forget to watch FNW with English subs.. since there won’t be any recaps. I feel so terrible! But much has been going on with my work and life, then there’s my sister’s wedding planning (which is almost a…
Well hello there, happy mid-month. As a personal confession, I’ve made zero progress in NaNoWriMo and I know why. Aside from the obvious no time excuse, I have discovered that perhaps I’m just not motivated enough to write a novel. A national anything shouldn’t be the only reason to motivate an aspiring someone to really do something with themselves. The person, who strives for something or to be someone, should have already been working towards his/her dream, and this challenge is a great reason to start pursuing it. It’s counter intuitive really, that I should come to this conclusion as I watch the clock rapidly ticking away. But it’s liberating all the same. So I wish the best to those who are partaking in…
Happy Hallloweeeen My Dear Readers! Who here loves Halloween? It’s a month of spookiness celebrated in the US- where kids and adults get to be whomever they wish for one day. What do you want to be? Are you dressing up this year? It’s a madness month for me, work and life is equally busy, prompting me to wish for more hours in a day so I can do everything I don’t have time to do- such as read the stack of ebooks waiting for me, blog, watch my American TV shows and Thai lakorns. My team at work intended to be a group of superheroes, but alas, some people just can’t pull through. ‘Tis the life of a discombobulated, dysfunctional group. Halloween also…
TGIF! Happy weekend, happy beer drinking (if that’s your thing), happy wine tasting (why are we ‘drinking’ beer and ‘tasting’ wine? Something’s wrong with that picture.) And to those who are following Sixth Sense 2, happy watching! Have you ever had one of those days where you go to work and say to yourself, ‘I’m just not feeling it?’ I’m having one of those days. Apparently my co-worker says she has those days all the time. Ha. Anything interesting going on in your world this weekend? What are you currently watching (old or new lakorns?) I’m still left with a sense of withdrawal /nostalgia (albeit small) from Dao Kiaw Duen… moreso because now what am I going to do on W-Th? As an update…
Fall is here with a vengeance. Usually I try to stay out from the rain, but yesterday, due to a party scheduled for both indoor and outdoor festivities, I’ve never been wetter in my life. It’s both terrible, cold and fun at the same time. It’s one of those things I’ll file under, ‘never repeat, thank you very much.’ October, the month of silly and frightful things, is coming upon us tomorrow. What are you doing to anticipate October? Lakorn-wise, Ton Rak Rim Rua has kissed us goodbye with the finale on Saturday, making way for our newest weekend installment, The Sixth Sense 2, which is really fitting, no? Very much in line with our Halloween anticipation. This fantasy lakorn has added two new…
Sometimes you just need a shoulder to lean on. How’s everyone doing? Clearly we all survived the week. It’s Oktoberfest galore here, I’m not a huge beer drinker, but Seattle is the craft beer central it seems, so my beer of choice would be an IPA. I’m a hoppy girl. It’s an acquired taste. A busy weekend ahead for me, sometimes I feel like my work week is go go go and the weekend is just the same, but with the added fun. Football season tickets, catching up with friends, evading the rain (as it’s starting to settle it’s usual splendor)- which only takes me back to Monday, exhausted again. What gives? Lakorn wise, I’m not watching anything in exception to DKD, which I…
