When Khun Ramet Meets Pimrapat – Buang Hong

lovefia

Posted on March 15, 2017

They could not find a dreamier Khun Ramet in James Jirayu, with relaxed hair that brushes below his ears, body clad in tailored but effortless suit, lips that wield into an easy smile, with sharp eyes that don’t miss a beat. He epitomizes the relaxed and down to earth feel that is Chiang Rai, a city in which he builds his hotel conglomerate. He expands his work throughout this large city through ethical means and truly cares about the livelihood of its inhabitants along with the preservation of its natural resources. In other words, he’s a dream developer to local citizens, much to the chagrin of the greedy developers who want to turn a quick profit. Right off the bat he has conflict with…

Kularp Tud Petch – Rose Cuts Diamond

lovefia

Posted on December 13, 2016

The newest weekend installment is Kularp Tud Petch, starring Top Jaron and Wawwa. It’s an action lakorn, with an edgy and sleek feel to it. Before we could get into the who and why of this show, we are immediately introduced to two badasses called the White Rose Bandit and the Cat Diamond (hence, rose cuts diamond). They are not friends or are they affiliates, but they have a strong eye for sharp and shiny things, namely gems and diamonds. Before any expo could launch their valuable showcase, either the White Rose Bandit or the Cat Diamond has already gotten their quick fingers on it. People speak of these two in reverence because the local police could not, for the life of them, unveil…

The Lost Star – The Old and New

lovefia

Posted on December 12, 2016

The Lost Star (Dao Long Fah Phu Pah See Ngern) has been remade from its inception in 2001, about a Sama Princess and a Thai Officer. There is an inherent obstacle of status difference in their romance setup and I remember watching this show on Channel 7 and recalling a longing, sad love story. It’s not a tragic love story per se, but one where they part ways in the end. So as a fair warning, the original Princess Jasmine did not get her happy ending. Here’s to hoping that this 2016 Princess finds a loophole.

Nakee – The Serpent Queen

lovefia

Posted on November 1, 2016

Act Art Production, along with our ratings queen, Taew Nataporn, has graced our small screen again with Monday-Tuesday lakorn, Nakee – The Serpent Queen. This lakorn aired on September 26th but due to the mourning period, has released six episodes thus far. If the steady incline in ratings is any indication, this one is a hit with Thai viewers. It seems the combination of producer, director and actress has garnered those high ratings since their collaboration from Khun Chai Ratchanon of the Suparburoot Juthathep series. But Act Art has been known to consistently produce excellent lakorns in their small screen repertoire, and this one is no exception.

Who’s Team Are You On? ‘Petch Tud Petch’ Premiers!

lovefia

Posted on October 7, 2016

Even before the first episode aired, I posed a question on what team you’d like to be on, Team Weir or Team Mik in Petch Tud Petch, way before you even knew what side is the right side, or even if there is such a thing as the right side, because you know, your heart wants what it wants. Well I am here to report to you the first look of this action-packed lakorn, where every minute is chalk full of fighting scenes, you’ll wonder if both sides of the party would even survive before you could submit your vote.

Rarng Mai..Huajai Derm

lovefia

Posted on September 27, 2016

I went into this premier episode with no idea what this show is about. A reader emailed me and wanted to know what I thought, so I figure, no harm in checking out the first episode. I should know based on the title, which means “new body, same heart” that we might have a body swapping story on our hands, and after watching the first episode, I will say that this premise is built on maturity, conflict, and such a mired backstory that the body swapping future will be fraught of drama. I can already sense it. But first, the story.

Nang Ay

lovefia

Posted on September 27, 2016

Apiradee Anothai, or Nang (Nycha Nuttanicha), is a seventeen year old girl and life was pretty great, she has her iPhone and social media accounts, she has her biker friends, and knows that she can handle anything that comes her way. It’s the 21st century teenage confidence, if you will. But one day, she was caught in the wrong place and at the wrong time, the paparazzi splatters her image on the front page smearing her dad’s name (he’s a minister of state) that she was fighting over a man. She tries to defend herself to dad – because why shouldn’t he trust his seventeen year old daughter? – but no matter what she says, she just comes off being rude and disrespectful. So dad…

Meet the Characters in Duang Jai Pisut

lovefia

Posted on September 15, 2016

Well hello. I know I was debating earlier whether I’ll tune into Duang Jai Pisut (which premiered today), but when you don’t have anything else to watch and you’re bored as heck, beggars can’t be choosers. I figure, at least check out the first episode.

Rang Chung and the Drama

lovefia

Posted on September 12, 2016

So. Rang Chung is here, a historical lakorn that is heavy on the melo. It’s only forty-minutes long per episode so I figure I’d give it a shot just to see Taya again. She will always be known to me as Prissana, and that is never a bad thing. In this lakorn, Taya dons traditional attire and she stars alongside Kan Kantathavorn. I think the acting is natural and the two have an easy chemistry together. When Taya flashes her dimpled smile, you might need a moment to re-orient yourself. But story wise, it’s heavy stuff. If you’re into melos and high drama, this one might be for you. I’m just here to report my first look at this and then backtrack to my…
