Nakee – The Serpent Queen

lovefia

Posted on November 1, 2016

Act Art Production, along with our ratings queen, Taew Nataporn, has graced our small screen again with Monday-Tuesday lakorn, Nakee – The Serpent Queen. This lakorn aired on September 26th but due to the mourning period, has released six episodes thus far. If the steady incline in ratings is any indication, this one is a hit with Thai viewers. It seems the combination of producer, director and actress has garnered those high ratings since their collaboration from Khun Chai Ratchanon of the Suparburoot Juthathep series. But Act Art has been known to consistently produce excellent lakorns in their small screen repertoire, and this one is no exception.

Kong Grapan Naree – First Look

Posted on July 5, 2016

I’m really excited that all of the new lakorns that are cropping up are actually really engaging. It’s a good thing and a bad thing. How could it ever be bad, you ask? It makes me want to recap them, that’s why. Right now time is an issue because I’m already picking up two shows, but if this show continues to stay engaging, I will occasionally write about them when time permits. If you’re into superhero storyline (which is few and far in between for lakorns) this one is for you. The cast, the action sequence and origin story is great so far. I don’t doubt that Broadcast Thai will put on a good show, and I’ll be watching this during its Mon-Tues timeslot.

Ken P and Wawwa In Supernatural Lakorn “Kong Gra Pan Naree”

If you’re a fan of supernatural lakorns, Kong Gra Pan Naree (Invulnerable Woman), might be a good choice for you. This lakorn is slated to air on July 5, 2016 after Nang Tard, in the Monday-Tuesday timeslot. Broadcast Thai Production is spearheading this show, with Ken Pupoom and Wawwa as the leads. The story sounds very Thai superhero to me, and Wawwa plays this superhero called Kong Gra Pan Naree. Every 1000 years a power inhibits earth to conquer evil and it takes the form of Kong Gra Pan Naree. The person who possess this supernatural power can do some damage, if you can imagine, thus it’s wanted by everyone. Wawwa’s character’s name is Worramai aka Aeport who has to flee constantly to evade people wanting…

The Star Beside the Moon – Ep 2-3 Thoughts

Posted on July 20, 2014

If there were such a thing as a star beside the moon, then I would imagine that it would look something like the picture above: mysterious, contemplative, brooding. However, the tone of this lakorn, Dao Kiang Duen (which precisely means the star beside the moon) is the exact opposite: funny, entertaining, witty.

Dao Kiang Duen – Episode 1 Impression

lovefia

Posted on July 18, 2014

Broadcast Thai Production just stepped it up a notch with their latest weekend installment, Dao Kiang Duen, starring Ken Pupoom and Namtarn. Airing on Channel 3, following the first story about Prakai Dao and Khun Chai Jantarapanu in Dao Kiaw Duen, this sequel fast forwards 20+ years to the current setting of this story about their son, Momluang Jantarakarn. This lakorn not only reminds me of how much I enjoyed the first installment, but actually manages to impress me with its tone, quality and above all, loveable characters. Within five minutes of the show, I am already laughing and having a ball. If they keep up the funny as well as consistent characters, I may come to love this lakorn even more than its…
