Mam Gam Dang Ep 1 Impression

Posted on March 29, 2012

There are two types of people in this world, people who support themselves and earn a living or people who rely on others to live. In “Red-cheeked Madam,” the social differences between the students studying abroad in London are still evident as you can see struggling college students trying to make ends meet while the richer of their counterparts shop at D&G. Yet, a group of four friends are able to set the differences aside and maintain their close friendship. They are Ana (Matt Peeranee), May (Woonsen), Art and Pat. Their future rests brightly ahead of them as they wrap up their graduation and prepare for their move back to Thailand. At the end of their final stint however, Pat (the richer of the…

Migraine Inducing – Meur Prap Por Look Orn

lovefia

Posted on January 29, 2012

In between the corny and awful sound effects, the lame, useless undercover cops and the uninspiring characters, Meur Prap Por Look Orn is a migraine inducing lakorn in the making. From what I’ve gathered, in 48 minutes time, Num plays a failed undercover cop and he runs headlong into a conflict with our heroine who raises three of her niece/nephew. You can read LG’s heads up for a better idea of the plot, as I’m too annoyed by yet another lame lakorn to delve deeply into it. Aside from that, Vicky is gorgeous, Num is alright, and the rest of the cast is just bleh. Therefore I’m just going to stick to MLP for the time being, if a lakorn appears corny at first…

Another bites the dust – Duj Dao Din

lovefia

Posted on January 24, 2012

Let me start by saying that I like Stephan. I think he’s p’ek worthy and cute. I like the idea behind the story, I do. But in his latest lakorn Duj Dao Din with Jakjaan, I am completely thrown off course. I feel that first impressions are significant. And usually, if a lakorn manages to keep me interested long enough to watch the next episode, it’s typically good. In this case, I cannot seem to get pass part 3/7 of episode 1. The pictures above depict their first encounter. The problem is that it is so typical of lakorns first encounters that I had to control myself from laughing out loud and rolling my eyes. This is how it played out: during a party…

Love Stories Amid the Flood- Nam Keun Hai Reap Rak

lovefia

Posted on January 23, 2012

First Impression of: Nam Keun Hai Reap Rak (Ch.5) Amidst the flood of 2011, Gor (Pong Nawat) owner of a restaurant, found himself doing the unthinkable: going back to ask his father for help. To him that was a form of failure and it was something he had promised he would never do. Gor did not see eye to eye with the old man, who was the type to remind him that he was never going to amount to anything without his help. So putting his pride aside, Gor goes back to Rayong to beg for financial assistance. However, his father had other plans for him. The older man goes missing after a walk on the beach and left his son a note to…

“The Good, Average and Ugly:” Hits and Misses of Lakorns OnAir Thus Far

lovefia

Posted on January 10, 2012

Under my totally subjective views, I’ve evaluated some of the lakorns that are currently on air and categorized them as good, average or ugly (a total miss in other words) and you can decide whether you’ll partake or bow out of it, this time around. Average: Channel 7 kookwans and real life former exes, Pancake and Weir, reunited their onscreen chemistry in Nangfah Gup Mafia, an action/romance drama depicting an Interpol secret agent who disguises as a mafia’s minion in order to extrapolate evidences and end its reign. But the only thing standing in his way is a meddlesome flight attendant, who apparently has devoted her life to make his a living hell. Hilarity and odd action scenes aside, Nangfah Gup Mafia also has…
