EPISODE 7 SUMMARY BY UHRENAH

Late at night Art is still because he can’t seem to stop thinking about the moment when he and Jum were on the beach watching fireworks together. To add to his confused heart, he opens up his laptop to find a whole CD of Jum’s pictures accidently given to him at work. These sudden thoughts and feelings have the wheels in his head turning and the beats in his heart skipping faster and faster. Has Art fallen in love with our tomboy Jum? As for Jum she is too busy feeling stressed and worried about her mom’s health that she does not have time to think about anything else. Every where she goes, she’s haunted by the fact that she must come up with some money for her mom’s treatment. Jum decides she will do this by taking on a second job.

The Unraveling of Dao Kiang Duen

I can accept a lot of imperfections in a lakorn – because let’s be honest – many lakorns seldom are perfect. So I let a lot of things slide. Unfortunately, it becomes quite a shame when a show with great potential seemingly unravels at the seam. From episode 6 onwards (we are at episode 9 now), Dao Kiang Duen has really lost its steam.

For a show that could use tropes to its benefit, neighbors and paid assistant for example, they could essentially play this out until the cows come home. But instead, they opted for misunderstandings that tore a good team apart. When I say team, I’m referring to the characters that really made the show appealing to me: Khun Jan- Wiwit, Khun Jan – Dao. I had mentioned in the first impression that if this show remained consistent on a story and character level, they would have me until the very end.

Roy Rak Hak Liam Tawan: Episode 6

Another episode filled with uber adorable-ness. Is that even a word? I don’t care. I’m in love with the show. The relationship and story front both move to the right direction. The girls come to an understanding, while some misunderstandings stay hidden. Seiko warns Takeshi from mentioning morbid things, and we see that perhaps he ought to listen to her. But he’ll take punishments in the form of kisses.. yes, hugs and kisses please.

Roy Rak Hak Liam Tawan: Episode 5

Oh, be still my heart. This episode really makes my day. We are seemingly led down a path thinking that it will go one way, but un-expectantly encounter another. Perhaps it is bittersweet for all parties, gaining a measure of happiness, but also going against a measure of time. Should we dive headfirst knowing that our hearts will break, or should we embrace whatever remaining time we have left? All’s I have to say is that with our recent turning of events, the romance is upped and with that, so will the angst. But I’m going to enjoy the well-earned peace, even if angst is only an arm length away!

Roy Rak Hak Liam Tawan: Episode 4

Our hero tries to prolong the time he has with the woman that he loves, but he soon learns that time isn’t really on his side, especially when you have an enemy pulling at all corners, and your allies hanging by a thread. He’s caught between a rock and a hard place. Although the beginning of this episode left us fearing that we’re spinning our wheels and jeopardizing the plot – with our hero doing the same thing over and over again, despite all of the wonderful hugs– but then, he makes a choice, the baddies strike, the side kick takes over, and we are rolling once again.

Roy Rak Hak Liam Tawan: Episode 3

This is a solid episode setting up our hero into his new title that comes with a whole slew of responsibilities. We are given motives and background behind the past, as well as given more reasons to fall in love with our Takeshi – not to mention his side kick and “brains” of the operations, Ryu. How does one move on from a tragedy? Thankfully our hero gathers the strength that comes from the twinkling light of the stars. He remains steadfast in his belief and desires, but is forever stronger and tougher after the experience. Knowing full well that responsibility comes with sacrifice, his heart tests that boundary every day, which in turn forces us to hold our breaths, the kind that we didn’t even know we were holding. Good stuff.

EPISODE 6 SUMMARY

Celeb Magazine staff are scrambling trying to get everything in order for the photo session as Lookjun is trying to convince Paul to take off his clothes for the shoot. Lookjun tells him the theme of the this issue is about fighting. Fighting through life, fighting with sickness, fighting with death, and love that needs to be fought for- this issue will be all about Muay Thai (Thai kickboxing). Meanwhile Line staff and Nut are also taking photos for their issue as well with the stolen model from Celeb. Serves them right, Nut is having so much trouble with his model because she refuses to put her precious purse down. Not only that but he smile becomes totally crooked due to the Botox she decides to do before the shoot. Nothing about this photo session is coming along smoothly and Nut is visibly frustrated. LOL first he tells her she needs to smile, but after looking at her smile he tells her never mind it looks better without the smile.

First Look at ‘Ka Badin’

Yes please. Finally.

It’s been SO long since we got to see the adorable James Ma. If you are a fan you would not easily forget his portrayal of Khun Chai Ronnapee, nor forget his penchant to march into dangerous waters and singlehandedly kick some ass.  No one does action scenes like James Ma, nor look as good while doing it. Like a true action hero, he ignores the camera angles and just gets things done. Perhaps we credit the director. Perhaps it’s James Ma. I for one cannot conjure another name.

EPISODE 5 SUMMARY BY UHRENAH

Lookjun is at the GRGR set watching the actors Paul, Toey, and everyone shoot their scenes. She finally gets to see how horrible Paul’s acting is. She comments to the director about how bad Paul’s acting was. The director asked her as his close friend, what has happened to his acting lately? She tells him that Paul has been on medication and that it is probably affecting his acting ability. After having to CUT and stop so often, the director mumbles that this medicine Paul is on must be real strong. Next Jum appears to play her part and everyone is stunned by her beauty. Lookjun asks the director, isn’t Jum’s role supposed to be a tomboy when Jum appeared in a tight mini skirt? The director laughs so Lookjun laughs along with him until he tells everyone that Jum will be playing a sexy vixen who is supposed to seduce Saichon (Paul). Lookjun sends a photo of Jum back to the gals at the office and everyone is raving about how great Jum looks. They all start to gossip and talk about how they will all profit from Jum’s fame. Art walks by and they tell him to look at Jum’s photo, but he was not interested. Instead, he asked to come along on their next photo shoot at the beach and he told them not to tell Lookjun that he was coming because he wanted to surprise her. Back at the GRGR set, Paul is relieved that Jum has joined the series because he is no longer the only actor that sucks. LOL omg the director even asks Lookjun if Jum was taking the same meds as Paul since her acting was just as horrible. LOL. Lookjun is now concerned for her friend.

The Star Beside the Moon – Ep 2-3 Thoughts

If there were such a thing as a star beside the moon, then I would imagine that it would look something like the picture above: mysterious, contemplative, brooding.

However, the tone of this lakorn, Dao Kiang Duen (which precisely means the star beside the moon) is the exact opposite: funny, entertaining, witty.
