The Cupids Series – The Beginning – Kammathep Hunsa

lovefia

Posted on June 1, 2017

Kammathep Hunsa is the first story among an eight part series from Channel 3 called The Cupids Series by Broadcast Thai Production Company.

The series as a whole centers on an unsuccessful matchmaking company called “Cupid Hut” run by Khun Phim (Ken Theeradeth) who is the son of a wealthy hospital chairman, but he prefers to treat people’s heart in a non-medical way. He deems that every single person is missing someone special in their lives, and his firm would be the company that will find the missing other half. Unfortunately after being in business for 4 years now, Khun Phim and his eight employees could not turn the company around. His mother, the stakeholder had bargained that Khun Phim has 5 years to turn a profit; otherwise he would have to fold the business and come work for her.

When Khun Ramet Meets Pimrapat – Buang Hong

lovefia

Posted on March 15, 2017

They could not find a dreamier Khun Ramet in James Jirayu, with relaxed hair that brushes below his ears, body clad in tailored but effortless suit, lips that wield into an easy smile, with sharp eyes that don’t miss a beat. He epitomizes the relaxed and down to earth feel that is Chiang Rai, a city in which he builds his hotel conglomerate. He expands his work throughout this large city through ethical means and truly cares about the livelihood of its inhabitants along with the preservation of its natural resources. In other words, he’s a dream developer to local citizens, much to the chagrin of the greedy developers who want to turn a quick profit. Right off the bat he has conflict with a competitor who wants to buy out all of the land unethically by bullying local people. But Khun Ramet is astute and clever as we can see that he comes out as the hero each time.

Waves of Life: Episode 1

After a long wait, the premiere for Kluen Cheewit is finally here. It’s not the kind of show to watch lying down, nor is it one of rainbows and butterflies. This show, if anything, is a story about a girl against the world. I can see different sides to this story that will get people heated and argue over what’s right and what’s wrong, and what’s the truth. One thing is for sure, our girl isn’t perfect, but she can make you empathize with her plight. Drinking is a frowned upon hobby in this show, but with a life like that, what else could you do to make the world a little more livable? Pass the bottle please, but hide the car keys.

Happy weekend, guys! Countdown three more days until I get to immerse in a lakorn once again. It’s been awhile, and we are so overdue for a good one. No pressure, Kluen Cheewit. I’m pretty sure I’ll be watching this show with one hand over my eyes.

How is everyone doing? Any plans for this weekend? Anyone still watching lakorns? 🙂 I’m also excited for the new crops that are coming to us very soon. I need some great shows to turn to after today. Or maybe I just need a drink.

My toddler is going through a sleep regression this week. That means that he used to be a great sleeper but is currently waking up screaming… multiple times a night. He has been upgraded to a toddler bed and a lock on his door. Welcome to parenthood. I am 14 weeks away from meeting my second boy, let’s just hope he’s a little less busy than this brother. So excited regardless! I hope everyone is doing well!

Mario Maurer in Banlang Dokmai

banlangdokmai

This is happening. A cute (perhaps romcom centric) lakorn starring Mario Maurer and Toey Jarinporn will air soon. The synopsis and theme is my cup of tea, because I really do like me some fluffy lakorn. And this will pair well with Kluen Cheewit, which is dramatic times twenty, Banlang Dokmai will sure to ease some of that dramatic tension.

Petch Klang Fai and Its Author

A new pairing is coming soon to grace a small screen near you: Petch Klang Fai, starring Mai Warit and Mew Nitha. What captured my attention the most is that this lakorn is based off of a novel with the same name, written by the award winning writer, professor, and mother: Dr. Winitchaikun. She’s my hero, really.

Woo and hoo! After a very long wait, Kluen Cheewit is slated to air on January 23rd (barring no other further preemptions), which means it will air after Kon Lah Khop Fah. According to the interview at Channel 3’s Entertainment Newsroom, Yaya indicates that Jeerawat, her character in Kluen Cheewit, is the most intense character that she has ever portrayed and she has put her everything into it. Yaya hopes that the viewers will like it and have empathy for her. While filming this show, Yaya has turned into an entirely different person, even her real life turned pretty dark for a moment in order to get into her character properly. Can Yaya pull it off? Please cheer her on as she takes on the most dramatic role to date! Yours truly simply cannot wait, I miss this gorgeous and talented face!

Louis Scott and Pream Ranida will be headlining a weekend lakorn following Kularb Tud Petch on January 1st. This one looks cute and funny, and quite a lighthearted lakorn that will mark the start of the New Year.

Cheers to 2016 Lakorns

lovefia

Posted on December 19, 2016

2016yearinreview

As a long time lakorn viewer, I like to go into every new year with optimism. 2016 felt especially promising based on the teasers and offerings from lakorn makers, but unfortunately, as we get ready to close out the year, I am realizing how many misses we’ve had. There is also the month long (for other shows several months long) mandatory break from lakorns due to the King’s passing. Yet after it is all said and done, this years’ lakorns brought out only a few winners, several disappointments, and some waylaid lakorns that are preempted until the following year. Needless to say, I am left wanting so much more from 2016 that will have to be appeased next year.
