The Week Ahead

Happy October! Where I come from, this is an exciting month. We have fall, pumpkin patches, spiced lattes, and Halloween- not to mention the scary themes that tv shows and the silver screen takes on. Unfortunately, I am not there.. but instead, I get to enjoy warm climates, great food and lots of lakorns/movies! This week, I will reflect upon Roy Mai’s latest episodes (9,10). I will also delve back into Kon Ruk Luang Jai (ep 4+). Earlier I watched Tawee Pope up to ep 5 and will get back into it. I may wait to write an entire review instead of reflections. As far as next lakorns to watch, I have somewhat of a list, but not sure at what priority. Care to…

Roy Mai, An Ateam’s Best

Roy Mai is a stunning lakorn, and with the script and chemistry between Ateam, it is easily the best Ateam lakorn to date. There, I said it. In Roy Mai, there is no vengeful slap and kiss (which leads to uncomfortable R scene) as we have in Jumleoy Ruk, no wasted yearning and horrible plot as in Namtan Mai, and no suspicious torture and family drama as in Botan Gleep Sudtai. Instead we are gifted with two Ateam’s love story in one drama, how can we ask for more? As far as the pacing of the story, I am totally ok with it. The pacing is appropriate in creating and bringing in both Suriyawong-Rerin and Siriwong-Maneerin’s love story to the surface. They have such…

Roy Mai Pulls At The Heartstrings

There are many values tested in this lakorn, the clearest of them all is the stress in good versus evil, love versus hate, revenge versus forgiveness and essentially, that the people one meet in one’s new life are all ties to a chain of events from the previous life. Powerful? Indeed. It is also clear who the bad guys are and I would fervently reach for my Buddha pendant (if I had one) and pray wholeheartedly that I can survive this lakorn emotionally unscathed, because so far, I’ve been scared to my wits, shed tears of sorrow and want to reach out and give Suriyawong a big hug- my heart goes out to our hero! My homepage banner reminds me of home..

I didn’t think I would feel nostalgic or homesick, but it only takes a picture or a smell to bring me back to early fall in Seattle, where the reddish brown leaves scatter the grounds and the trees are left bare with the branches while a few stubborn leaf hang on for dear life. Walking through the park, the fresh breeze would cool my face as I pull my sweater tightly around me. But as quickly as it comes, my homesickness goes away.. hope you like the new layout 🙂

The Week Ahead

Happy Monday, where productivity and hope for a wonderful new week starts again. This week, we will have the completion of P-N Series (24 parts total), which will end my endeavor to stretch Plerng Toranong. I can finally move on, heck everyone has already moved on, even Mario himself! Also this week, I will be writing a continued reflection for Roy Mai and Kon Ruk Luang Jai. Hopefully after that, I can find some time to start watching Tawee Pope and Roy Marn. And, let’s not forget Nai Roy Ruk! Cheers for the week that will end September! xoxo Fia
