Catchy title to be sure. Miss Unlimited Surname is actually the English title for Nang Sao Mai Jam Gat Nam Sagon, which aired two episodes thus far this week on OneHD. It’s a romcom with Mai Davika and Ter Chantavit at the helm, centering around Riam (Mai Davika) who is unlucky in love but gotta get lucky in order to kick her diagnosis to the curb. Riam has always been boy crazy, however she got burned three times and vowed not to get married.
When you go from watching nothing, to binging somethings, I can’t imagine a more fun endeavor than a time traveling premise. This topic has always been a favorite of mine, ever since Tawee Pope 1994, which is a lakorn that made sense of a woman who steps into the past through a mirror portal, where she finds her soulmate and saves the world. It’s been a story that many cannot hold a candle to, despite its best efforts and remakes. It’s not you, it’s me. I am going to say it, Plerng Naree, and Tik-Mai combo, just isn’t doing it for me. The premier episode felt slow, languid, dazed and uninspiring. Some glaring issues for me lies in three areas: (1) the directing, which creates such a boring world; (2) the writing and characters; and (3) the actors, which may have to do with the characters they portray, and then, maybe not.

It’s another revenge drama for our W-Th timeslot! Plerng Naree will take over once Rang Tawan ends, introducing Mai Davika to Channel 3 viewers alongside the already revered Tik Jesadaporn. Guts Entertainment takes the revenge plot up a notch by involving royalty – Mai plays Princess Pririsa of Saijeet (a country on an island). She was born Thai but had to flee the country with her mom due to suffering and death threats by the hands of her father’s family.
