Prom Likit – Episode 3 – First Encounter

lovefia

Posted on October 25, 2023

Forget meet cute, we have meet funny. Puttarn’s landing in Ayutthaya era was not the smoothest, a beam of light through the Krishna Kali relic takes her 300 years back, facing a man who thinks she is a ghost and sends her flying with a kick. LOL. I am sorry, that was not very gentlemanly of Phor Rid, but he was frightened out of his wits, first he saw a beam of light pointing to something buried underneath, and as he pulled out the treasure, a woman-ghost tried to snatch his family relic. Besides, she talked different and was very forward with her approach, like grabbing his arm, which one never does with a man who is neither her kin nor her husband. Phor…

Prom Likit – Episode 2 – Look who’s back

lovefia

Posted on October 19, 2023

She’s back….who knew we would miss the original Karaked, with her lip curled in disdain. Goosebumps and chills, as Karaked appears in present time, much like the first time with Kadesurang. It’s raining and dark, she’s watching a car pass by. But this time, instead of appearing before the car and causing a wreck, Karaked just looks sadly at it, at the little girl in the car. We know her to be Phuttan, Kadesurang’s distant relative. The car met the same fate as the last time, with Karaked getting reborn as Phuttan, much like Kadesurang getting reborn as Karaked.

Prom Likit (Love Destiny 2) is Finally Here

Posted on October 18, 2023

Episode one feels like a gift/warm hug to the long awaited Buppaesaniwas fans, as we reunite with our favorite Ayutthaya household in Prom Likit. The time traveling history buff that is Karaked, her foreign ministry official husband, Dech, and the vast quarters of servants who do not bat an eye at their mistress’ beguiling ways. The opening scene pans to what makes this show charming in the first place, we are transported to Ayutthaya era, the soft dewy morning, the quiet night lit up by soft flame. Buppaesaniwas did it so well, and Prom Likit, its sequel, is equally stunning in its authenticity.

The Inspiration Behind Buppaesaniwas 2 – Love Destiny The Movie

lovefia

Posted on June 30, 2022

In a recent press conference for Love Destiny The Movie, out in theaters July 28th, the producers and director share their inspiration on how this movie came about. After Buppaesaniwas wrapped up beautifully in 2018, one of the producers for this film didn’t want it to end (same girl same) and it was such a hot topic that quite literally everyone around her couldn’t get enough of it. But ultimately the sentence that inspired the movie came from the author herself (Rompaeng), in that, P’Muen (ML) and Karakade (FL) are the destined soulmates and will meet and love each other in every lifetime. This premise has such potential retelling of another lifetime where they meet as different people and in different time periods, but…

Asa: The “Unfavorite” Third Child

Posted on September 13, 2020

Hello everyone! I hope that everyone is healthy and staying sane. Many of us are facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 situation, and I figured that this is the best time for all of us to have a long relaxing walk in a lavender field so here we are with Asa Lavender, as the Thai audience have called him since watching the Lakorn. “Walking in a Lavender Field” is an expression in Thai that means having a relaxing time, and indeed, there is nothing more calming and joyful than watching Asa, brought to life by no other than James Jirayu, on screen.

Double Espresso Coffee Talk: “Asee: The Favorite Youngest Child” by Greta

Posted on February 23, 2020

Hello folks! Here I am again for the long overdue segment of our Double Espresso Coffee Talk for Krong Karm (“Repercussion”). Though I’ve been away for so long, don’t worry if you’re thinking that you’ve missed Asa’s part. The truth is that I realized that if I don’t do Asee’s before Asa’s part, I might end up not doing his part at all. So now here we are.

Double Espresso Coffee Talk: “Atong: The Obedient Middle Child” by Greta

Posted on January 10, 2020

Hello folks! We’re here again for another double espresso coffee talk, for Krong Karm (“Cage of Karma”), otherwise known by its English title, “Repercussion”. Again, I thank P’Fia for allowing me to write this piece for her blog even before I finish Nueng Dao Fah Diew (I promise to go back to that soon!) Krong Karm or Repercussion was a finalist in the Asian Academy Creative Awards for Best Drama of 2019. For those who are curious as to why it got nominated, I hope this Double Espresso Coffee talk would not only keep you awake but likewise let you have a glimpse of the lakorn.

Double Espresso Coffee Talk: “Chai: The Blessed Eldest Child” by Greta

Posted on December 1, 2019

Hello folks! Today, I’m putting the Nueng Dao Fah Diew Coffee talk on hold in order to discuss Krong Karm (“Cage of Karma”) which is currently marketed through it’s international title “Repercussions”. Krong Karm is Thailand’s entry for the title of Best Drama Series of 2019 at the Asian Academy Creative Awards, which shall be held on December 6 at Singapore. As I’ve said before, Krong Karm isn’t your typical drama and it is indeed worth a watch. Hopefully with this review, I could help those who have watched it, and those who are yet to watch it, appreciate it and realize why it has been nominated for a prestigious award in the first place.

Krong Karm: Entering the Cage by Greta

Posted on May 12, 2019

Hello everybody! Today, I’m not here to do a shameless plug of Krong Karm (Cage of Karma) but I opted to talk fully about it instead. This lakorn was shown late February this year and has since started a hype among Thai fans. As the show ended and the subs of the final episodes had already been uploaded, I think it’s best to give a full overview of the plot in order to let those who haven’t seen it have a glimpse and hopefully catch up or binge watch the show now that it’s over.

First Look: Krong Kam

lovefia

Posted on March 13, 2019

Now that five episodes have already aired for Krong Kam, it is a good time as any to weigh in. Krong Kam is a lakorn about a mother and her daughter in law. It’s an unconventional, female protagonist lead storytelling that focuses on the flaws instead of the perfection, a lakorn that strives to show how choices will produce karmic affect, and also how terribly difficult it is to break out of a mold, once you’ve already been caged in. It is a mother of lakorns, so let’s discuss the story, as we know it so far.
