Asa: The “Unfavorite” Third Child

Hello everyone! I hope that everyone is healthy and staying sane. Many of us are facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 situation, and I figured that this is the best time for all of us to have a long relaxing walk in a lavender field so here we are with Asa Lavender, as the Thai audience have called him since watching the Lakorn. “Walking in a Lavender Field” is an expression in Thai that means having a relaxing time, and indeed, there is nothing more calming and joyful than watching Asa, brought to life by no other than James Jirayu, on screen.

Hello folks! Here I am again for the long overdue segment of our Double Espresso Coffee Talk for Krong Karm (“Repercussion”). Though I’ve been away for so long, don’t worry if you’re thinking that you’ve missed Asa’s part. The truth is that I realized that if I don’t do Asee’s before Asa’s part, I might end up not doing his part at all. So now here we are.

Hello folks! We’re here again for another double espresso coffee talk, for Krong Karm (“Cage of Karma”), otherwise known by its English title, “Repercussion”. Again, I thank P’Fia for allowing me to write this piece for her blog even before I finish Nueng Dao Fah Diew (I promise to go back to that soon!) Krong Karm or Repercussion was a finalist in the Asian Academy Creative Awards for Best Drama of 2019. For those who are curious as to why it got nominated, I hope this Double Espresso Coffee talk would not only keep you awake but likewise let you have a glimpse of the lakorn.

Posted on December 1, 2019

Hello folks! Today, I’m putting the Nueng Dao Fah Diew Coffee talk on hold in order to discuss Krong Karm (“Cage of Karma”) which is currently marketed through it’s international title “Repercussions”. Krong Karm is Thailand’s entry for the title of Best Drama Series of 2019 at the Asian Academy Creative Awards, which shall be held on December 6 at Singapore. As I’ve said before, Krong Karm isn’t your typical drama and it is indeed worth a watch. Hopefully with this review, I could help those who have watched it, and those who are yet to watch it, appreciate it and realize why it has been nominated for a prestigious award in the first place.

First Look: Krong Kam

Posted on March 13, 2019

Now that five episodes have already aired for Krong Kam, it is a good time as any to weigh in. Krong Kam is a lakorn about a mother and her daughter in law. It’s an unconventional, female protagonist lead storytelling that focuses on the flaws instead of the perfection, a lakorn that strives to show how choices will produce karmic affect, and also how terribly difficult it is to break out of a mold, once you’ve already been caged in. It is a mother of lakorns, so let’s discuss the story, as we know it so far.
