Happy weekend, guys! Countdown three more days until I get to immerse in a lakorn once again. It’s been awhile, and we are so overdue for a good one. No pressure, Kluen Cheewit. I’m pretty sure I’ll be watching this show with one hand over my eyes. How is everyone doing? Any plans for this weekend? Anyone still watching lakorns? 🙂 I’m also excited for the new crops that are coming to us very soon. I need some great shows to turn to after today. Or maybe I just need a drink. My toddler is going through a sleep regression this week. That means that he used to be a great sleeper but is currently waking up screaming… multiple times a night. He has…

Mario Maurer in Banlang Dokmai

lovefia

Posted on January 16, 2017

This is happening. A cute (perhaps romcom centric) lakorn starring Mario Maurer and Toey Jarinporn will air soon. The synopsis and theme is my cup of tea, because I really do like me some fluffy lakorn. And this will pair well with Kluen Cheewit, which is dramatic times twenty, Banlang Dokmai will sure to ease some of that dramatic tension.

Petch Klang Fai and Its Author

Posted on December 29, 2016

A new pairing is coming soon to grace a small screen near you: Petch Klang Fai, starring Mai Warit and Mew Nitha. What captured my attention the most is that this lakorn is based off of a novel with the same name, written by the award winning writer, professor, and mother: Dr. Winitchaikun. She’s my hero, really.

Kluen Cheewit to finally air on January 23rd!

lovefia

Posted on December 27, 2016

Woo and hoo! After a very long wait, Kluen Cheewit is slated to air on January 23rd (barring no other further preemptions), which means it will air after Kon Lah Khop Fah. According to the interview at Channel 3’s Entertainment Newsroom, Yaya indicates that Jeerawat, her character in Kluen Cheewit, is the most intense character that she has ever portrayed and she has put her everything into it. Yaya hopes that the viewers will like it and have empathy for her. While filming this show, Yaya has turned into an entirely different person, even her real life turned pretty dark for a moment in order to get into her character properly. Can Yaya pull it off? Please cheer her on as she takes on the most…

Louis Scott and Pream Ranida will be headlining a weekend lakorn following Kularb Tud Petch on January 1st. This one looks cute and funny, and quite a lighthearted lakorn that will mark the start of the New Year.

Cheers to 2016 Lakorns

lovefia

Posted on December 19, 2016

As a long time lakorn viewer, I like to go into every new year with optimism. 2016 felt especially promising based on the teasers and offerings from lakorn makers, but unfortunately, as we get ready to close out the year, I am realizing how many misses we’ve had. There is also the month long (for other shows several months long) mandatory break from lakorns due to the King’s passing. Yet after it is all said and done, this years’ lakorns brought out only a few winners, several disappointments, and some waylaid lakorns that are preempted until the following year. Needless to say, I am left wanting so much more from 2016 that will have to be appeased next year.

Kularp Tud Petch – Rose Cuts Diamond

lovefia

Posted on December 13, 2016

The newest weekend installment is Kularp Tud Petch, starring Top Jaron and Wawwa. It’s an action lakorn, with an edgy and sleek feel to it. Before we could get into the who and why of this show, we are immediately introduced to two badasses called the White Rose Bandit and the Cat Diamond (hence, rose cuts diamond). They are not friends or are they affiliates, but they have a strong eye for sharp and shiny things, namely gems and diamonds. Before any expo could launch their valuable showcase, either the White Rose Bandit or the Cat Diamond has already gotten their quick fingers on it. People speak of these two in reverence because the local police could not, for the life of them, unveil…

The Lost Star – The Old and New

lovefia

Posted on December 12, 2016

The Lost Star (Dao Long Fah Phu Pah See Ngern) has been remade from its inception in 2001, about a Sama Princess and a Thai Officer. There is an inherent obstacle of status difference in their romance setup and I remember watching this show on Channel 7 and recalling a longing, sad love story. It’s not a tragic love story per se, but one where they part ways in the end. So as a fair warning, the original Princess Jasmine did not get her happy ending. Here’s to hoping that this 2016 Princess finds a loophole.

A Little About Me & An Announcement

lovefia

Posted on December 12, 2016

To My Dearest Lovely Readers: As some of you know, and if you follow me on Twitter, I am currently expecting my second boy. This one is due around the same time as the first one, in late April, so having two under two will be an adventure, to be sure. But it’s an adventure that I am thrilled to be on, so bring it on busy boys. I don’t think it is in my DNA to make non-busy boys, much to my chagrin. The other day we sat across from a toddler of the same age as my Cam, but he was so so good, in that he sat in his chair without a fuss, just observing everything. While my wild child walks…
