This show is so very swoony. It really does help when you have a good script and actors with amazing chemistry to carry the show. It gets better and better with each episode. And while the end is nigh, let us enjoy the present.

Episode 11-12 Recap

Dujupsorn tells Khun Chavit that she understands where he is coming from, but she will never take her mother to the Juthathep palace. She intends to disappear after she fulfills her notice at the company and makes him promise not to tell anyone, especially Khun Petch. Otherwise, she will never see him again. Khun Vit asks if she feels sorry for Khun Petch, who is being kept in the dark. As she walks alone back to her house, all she can think about is how guilty she feels about lying to Khun Petch. Their time together runs through her mind.

When she reaches the house, she notices a teacup set in the dining area. Her aunt says it belongs to a customer. Then, to her surprise, Khun Petch steps into her purview. Does thinking about someone make them appear before you? Squee.

Khun Petch asked Dujupsorn why it took her so long to reach home, suggesting that he may have overworked her at the company. He is known for his smooth small talk and flirting, just like the other Juthathep gentlemen. All Dujupsorn could manage to say was “Khun Petch,” which made him comment on how nice it sounded because she hadn’t said his name in a while. They exchanged shy smiles, and I couldn’t help but swoon. During their conversation, Khun Petch asked Aunt for “dara thong” instead of “jak-mongut,” their little inside joke. The two of them caught up over the famous dessert, like old friends. Dujupsorn asked about his trip to Chiang Mai, and Khun Petch mentioned that it was chaotic and Kosol had disappeared to avoid getting arrested. Dujupsorn expressed concern that Kosol might seek revenge and harm Khun Petch, but Khun Petch reassured her with a smile that Kosol couldn’t get to him and asked her not to worry.

Khun Petch finally gets to the reason for his visit and hands her his friend’s business card again. He informs her that the earliest availability for an appointment is next week and urges her to have her mother seen. He then adds that he always wants the best for her, regardless of their future relationship, even if she becomes his cousin-in-law.

Wilairampa notices Khun Petch visiting with her daughter and becomes defensive. She accuses him of spreading rumors about her daughter and pretending to be honorable. This is the first time Khun Petch meets Mom and he apologizes. Aunt advises Mom not to be rude to her customer and sends her to the bedroom.

As Dujupsorn walks Khun Petch back to his car, I love the way he looks at her. Dujupsorn recalls Khun Poom asking her whether she liked Khun Petch. At the time, she denied it. But when Khun Petch looks at her that way, and he is always so good to her, her heart races and she’s dying to say it. However, she doesn’t. She waits until his car has driven far enough away before shouting from the top of her lungs that yes, she likes him very much, she likes him like crazy. Gahhh. I don’t blame you girl, Khun Petch is THE specimen. Not just the way he looks, but his character. Le swoon.

I am not particularly crazy about the scenes between Saruch and Lisa, because he’s so greasy and slimey. He takes Lisa to an unfinished condo and lies that he bought it as their marital house. Instead of proposing with a ring, he gives her some earrings.. but then begs her to sell them so he can pay her back for the gold since his mother got scammed and lost several million baht. The innocent, naïve Lisa tells him she will take care of the debt because she cannot leave it solely to him to build their future. The guy is up to no good though because he invited her to a trip on an island, alone, and he only booked one room. Lisa is concerned she cannot resist him, so she plots for Ploy to coincidentally show up on the island. Ploy wants to spend more time with Khun Vit, so she invites Khun Petch along as a chaperone.

Khun Petch notices Khun Chavit speaking to Dujupsorn in the office hallway, which seems unusual. However, Khun Chavit explains that he was seeking Dujupsorn’s help in planning his wedding. Dujupsorn appears distraught as she feels she cannot continue in this situation, especially with Khun Petch being in the office. When Khun Petch tells Ploy about Khun Chavit’s visit to Dujupsorn regarding their wedding, Ploy becomes doubtful as they had never discussed marriage and their relationship was still in its early stages. This leads to Ploy’s doubts about Khun Chavit, wondering if he can truly change his playboy ways.

Khun Chavit lied to Ploy, telling her that he wanted to spend the evening with the boys, but in reality, he was paying a visit to his aunt. Wilairampa was adamant that she did not consider traitors as family members and wanted nothing to do with wicked people. This triggered her as she recalled being tied up at the mental institute in the past. Dujupsorn asked Khun Chavit to leave as her mom was having an episode, but Khun Chavit’s feet were frozen as he witnessed his aunt’s condition for the first time.

Khun Chavit comments that she needs to see a doctor, to which Dujupsorn says that this is the reason they are in Bangkok. She has to put on this charade just so her mother would agree to go. Khun Chavit assures that he can help her, but Dujupsorn says no one has helped her before. She is tired of dealing with people’s expectations and disappointments and just wants to be done with everything.

Upon learning that the entire group is heading to the island, Khun Poom schemes to reconcile Khun Petch and Dujupsorn. I’m starting to like Khun Poom, that little rascal. That ferry scene was intense, I mean you could hear a pin drop. When Khun Petch sees Dujupsorn coming alone with Khun Poom, it’s not something a single woman usually does unless she is engaged or married. Their eyes connect and sparks fly again.

Khun Chavit is surprised to see his cousin, when he finds her alone he asks her why she is here with Khun Poom. Dujupsorn says she already has her mother’s permission and she is not a good enough girl to care what others think. Khun Chavit says still, it does not look good (because he is thinking about it from Khun Petch’s perspective).

Khun Petch is sitting across from her on the ferry and notices that she’s listening to a Walkman. Although he tries not to make it obvious, his eyes keep returning to her. The mischievous Khun Poom decides to provoke jealousy by sitting next to Dujupsorn, taking one side of her headphones, and placing his head on her shoulder. This upsets Khun Petch, who walks away in frustration. Khun Chavit echoes the feelings of all of us when he tells Khun Poom that his interference isn’t helping and is only pissing off Khun Petch further. LOL.

Upon arriving on the island, the gang splits up and heads to their respective hotel rooms. Ploy and Lisa pretend to be surprised to see each other and decide to share a room. Meanwhile, Khun Poom tells Khun Chavit to keep an eye on Lisa and specifically to watch out for Saruch, as he doesn’t trust him.

Meanwhile, our duo takes separate walks but ends up crossing paths. Khun Petch says this is his usual spot on the island and Dujupsorn says she won’t bother him then. He wonders if she thinks Khun Poom would misunderstand. Lol, this green monster. Dujupsorn relents that Khun Poom isn’t like that and challenges Khun Petch that she can sit with him here if he likes. Khun Petch rises to the challenge but chides that when she becomes his cousin-in-law it would be inappropriate to be alone together. So, truce for the moment.

They sit together peacefully, watching the water ebb and flow. He says what a coincidence we meet here and Dujupsorn comments she is surprised that he took time off. Khun Petch says Ploy wants to come and it would be inappropriate for her to come alone with Khun Chavit, he glances at her, hoping he did not offend her. Dujupsorn agrees that he did the right thing because a good woman wouldn’t do that. Khun Petch says time has changed and it is not considered a bad thing anymore. He asks if Khun Poom knows that she is here (with him). He does not, she replies, but she does not need to inform anyone of her whereabouts. She admits she wants to rest. He senses sadness about her and urges her to rest, and he will sit here with her. Aw. They give each other a tiny smile.

Khun Petch stretched his legs out before him and suggested that they role-play. They can pretend that they are stranded alone on an island and forget everything and everyone. Dujupsorn said that means she can forget that he is Asira Juthathep, her boss. She will think of him as her friend. He said if he is her bestie, that means they have to be completely honest with each other. She agreed and they both broke out into laughter. So cute. You can tell they really enjoy each other’s company.

They take a stroll on the beach and Dujupsorn comments that her bff is quite talkative today. Khun Petch smiles and asks what she would change if she could turn back time. Dujupsorn pauses on their walk and answers that she would go back to the time her father was still alive. It was a time in her life when she did not have to worry about anything, and she could see her father’s face every morning. She won’t have to make decisions or take orders from anyone, she would be protected by her father. Khun Petch remarks that her life must have been tough without someone to help guide her. Dujupsorn relents that her life would be a little easier if her mother’s mental health improved. I get that, he says, but Dujupsorn mentions he does not need to feel for her because he too has his own burden to carry. She can tell from the minute she started working for him. Khun Petch casually comments that she is the ONLY person who gets him. Aw.

Dujupsorn wants to let him know that she feels fortunate to have met him and to have done work that she loves. Her workplace is her safe space, and he always makes her feel safe. He seems pleased to hear that and asks her why she is resigning then. She could just stay and ensure her mom gets treatment. Dujupsorn looks away, as it is not easy for her. Khun Petch adds that she can tell him anything and that he is always ready to help her. However, his being so supportive is making things even harder for her. He offers Khun Poom’s services too, because he wants her to stay. Dujupsorn wrings her hands, feeling guilty for using both of them, but Khun Petch says he is willing, in fact, Khun Poom would be willing too. Something about his slip-up makes her pause, and she offers the truth that Khun Poom is just a good friend. Omo. YAS.

He is shocked and takes her hand as she walks away. He asks for clarification: why did she come to the island alone with Khun Poom then? Dujupsorn says it’s because her mom wants her to. That’s it. That was all it took for Khun Petch to take both of her hands and look deep into her eyes. “Tell me this then, if you don’t love Khun Poom, who do you love?” Gahhhh.

Several long beats pass as the moment draws on, she doesn’t say anything, and perhaps she does not need to say anything because it is all in her eyes. Khun Petch declares that he missed her so much. And then, the kiss! Kyaa!  They put their foreheads together and then another kiss! Yowza. I’m dead.

I could not press play on episode 12 fast enough. Let’s goo!

Khun Petch cups her cheek and says they can tell everyone that they are in love. He promises that he will never lose her again and that he is sorry he never asked her about it before. As he pulls her into a hug, Dujupsorn tears up, hearing him say that he will never lose her again, that he will take care of her with his life. Ah, he’s so happy. He adds that he knows her mom doesn’t like him, but he will do whatever it takes to make her accept him. All she needs to do is tell him that she loves him. Omo. But it is not looking good, because instead of smiling, Dujupsorn is in tears (not the happy kind.)

He is waiting for her response, looking hopeful and desperate to hear it confirmed.

I don’t love you, she cries. NOOOOOO.

She steps back, he is frozen in place, confused.

I was carried away, she says. You make me feel safe and at ease. No one has made me feel this way before. So I don’t love you. OOF.

Khun Petch denies it because that can’t be true. But Dujupsorn says that it is. He is like a brother, a dad who takes care of her. Omo, did she just dad-zoned him?

Why are you lying to me? He asks. Dujupsorn says she is done lying (LIAR).

Khun Petch declares that she would let a brother or dad kiss and hug her like that?! Nobody does that. But Dujupsorn replies that only a bad woman like her does that. She apologizes for giving him the wrong impression, and that she won’t show her face in front of him again. Khun Petch watches her walk away, that they are over. Dammit, NOOO!

But as Dujupsorn walks away, we hear her mom threatening her in a letter that if she continues to defy her (and falls in love with a Juthathep), then she will be seeing her own mother in jail. The reason she has been running away all their life is that she once tried to poison Juthathep’s great granny. Dujupsorn bawls at having to give up on her hopeless love. Oh snap.

What happens next on the island makes it one very bad day on the island. Ploy continues to have doubts about her boyfriend until she witnesses for herself that he hugged Dujupsorn and it confirms her suspicions. She tells her brother that she wants to go home. Brother is not having a great time either, after seeing Dujupsorn all beautiful at the dinner party, he could not stand it another minute and drinks in his room. Khun Chavit’s efforts are falling apart in front of him, he tries to tell his cousin that Dujupsorn loves him, but Khun Petch stops him. He orders him to stop talking about her and to stop speaking up for her. Everyone is so busy crying over their own pain that they forget about Lisa and Saruch, who plots to bed her that night. He drugs her and begins his assault. Thankfully, everyone else came to their senses and was able to rescue her before she was completely ruined. Seeing Khun Chavit beat the daylights out of Saruch was so satisfying. Khun Petch hires a private boat to take them back to shore.

The next day Khun Chavit takes Dujupsorn back home where she has an argument with her mom. Dujupsorn asks her mom to confirm the letter’s content (even though Chavit already confirmed it). But mom victimized herself and said they forced her to do that. She admits that Dujupsorn probably wishes that Piangkwan was her mom instead. In a moment of anger and exasperation, Dujupsorn agreed that she sometimes wondered what her life would be like if her mom was normal. Ouch. Mom doesn’t take it lightly and cuts her wrist. Dujupsorn blames herself for not being more patient, but Aunt says she is the most patient person that she knows. Khun Chavit says that mom needs to see a doctor, this is beyond what Dujupsorn can handle. She assures him that she will take care of it, but he must not tell Khun Petch about this incident.

Comments

That was delightful and painful at the same time, wasn’t it? I haven’t said this before but the OST is so good. It really does help carry the emotions in the show, just as an OST should. I just realized that Kongthap Peak who plays Khun Petch, is the singer. It is no wonder he has such a nice speaking voice. I have not been so obsessed with a lakorn or character for a while now. Isn’t Khun Petch just the bee’s knees? It is refreshing to have something to watch again, but sadly we only have three more episodes to go. This duo makes me swoon, even when they are mad at each other, that chemistry just oozes on screen. And their dialogues and romance? Perfection.
