..for the highly anticipated lakorn? One that kept teasing us of its scheduled premier date, yet left us waiting and waiting?
I hope it is not in vain. We shall find out Friday, June 29th.
I’m talking about Torranee Ni Nee Krai Krong (entitled in English This Land Is Our Land, which further reminds me of a song I sang as a child, “this land is your land, this land is my land, from California, to the New York Islands..”- Americans may know this by heart, and now it’s probably stuck in your head. You’re welcome.)
The premise of the drama surrounds a dutiful son named Arthit who came to prove to his grandma what he is made of, essentially to atone for his father’s transgressions. But his major challenge is not so much grandma herself, but the beguiling granddaughter, Darunee, who is overprotective of her grandma’s affections. Meaning, she does not take lightly someone who will threaten to steal the attention and love away from her. You can read the full synopsis from the fabulous Wishboniko who will be subbing this drama.
Clearly the most anticipated aspect of this drama is the fact that this is the third collaboration between Nadech Kugimiya and Yaya Urassaya. As far as I’m concerned, they can continue to film lakorns together forever. Their fanbase would probably agree- if you have time you can even read the 100+ page thread at Asianfuse. Or you can visit the official Facebook page for Torranee, listen to live themed songs at Inwlakorns (which is on repeat on my iPod..), or merely type in Nadech and Yaya on YT for the myriad of videos dedicated to this duo.
Finally, what can you expect from me? A few months ago, the majority voted Torranee to be my next recap project. I still may pursue this, however, it will not be at the speed of my recapping days with Plerng Toranong. I may even steer more towards themed posts- much like the ones I wrote for GRGR. Heck, even I’m not too sure yet, whatever strikes my fancy or inspires me while I’m watching Torranee.
Whatever the case may be, I am ready.. I will be watching.. and spazzing.
Will you?
I just recently started watching the old version and I LOVE it so far but I haven’t finish watching it yet. But that’s okay. I’ll watch the old and new ones together.hahah.Weird.
But I believe i am almost done with Andrew’s version so i think i’ll be done with the old one soon. um… i wonder how this new one will be like. I know i shouldn’t said this but whatever b/c it sound like i’m comparing the two. I’m just excited to see this new version; what they did differently and the same. 🙂 I’ll be looking forward to watch the sub by wish. I know this is her last lakorn she’ll sub which is sad but it’s okay.
I have seen TNNKK starring Andy and Pok a long long time ago and remember it being absolutely adorable. I know that this newer version with Yadech will take on a different spin- something closer to the storyline from the book. Therefore it doesn’t hurt to watch both!
how have you been, Fia? i’m hanging around til i finish subbing MGD, then i’ll go extinct for sure. but i miss blogging too much and im debating to get back in. anyhow, i’m iffy about TNNKK so it’s up to the first few episodes to impress me.
And we miss you so come on back 🙂 extinction is too permanent of a word.. how about call it a break, a sabbatical.. whatever it is until you have satisfied your literary calling!
I second Fia’s thoughts! Come back to us when you are ready of course! I love your funny comments and thoughts on the craziness that is lakorns.
I have forced myself to stay away from any news related to this lakorn to avoid any spoilers, now that it’s finally here… I’m EXCITED!
(I’ll probably go and watch the old one too since I love Pok…)
I simply could not resist watching the teaser videos. After all, we’ve waited so long! But today I’m going to avoid any spoiler feedback from Torranee’s fan until I have seen the first episode 🙂
I’ve watched the old one sooo many times and I loved it! I’m also trying to not compare the two because I love Yadech as well. Crossing my fingers they impress me 🙂
Let’s all start with a clean slate 🙂 and no expectations, that way, we’ll be able to enjoy Torranee even more!
after queen in hyun’s man i have been devastated. nothin interested me bc i was infested with qihm syndrome. btwn the leads are officially dating in real life. not that anyone care lol
im excited. praying that i will like this more than their previous one. lakorns lately have been disappointed although i applaud buang. i appreciated it more after watching the entire lakorn lol
Glad to see your comment Fun! It has been awhile.. but I totally understand that one can get in and out of watching lakorns. I’m hoping that Torranee will be the one to hook us again 🙂
