Reference Guide: “Once Upon a Time in My Heart”

lovefia

Posted on August 15, 2016

To make the wait a little more bearable for those obsessed with this lakorn as I am, I’ve created a reference guide to Once Upon a Time in My Heart. You know how literary fiction has a cliff note? We’ll consider this as our go-to reference guide, complete with the cast of characters, character analysis and any in depth discussion we will have about this lakorn. I will continue to add to this guide, as we’ve only begun what is a journey into this crack land we call Daniel and Fahsai’s world. But we all know that there is one character in particular that has fueled the fangirling, and his name is Daniel (Mick). So FINE, he blows OUR minds.

The Open-ended Ending to Rak Fun Thalop : Who Did He Choose?

lovefia

Posted on August 15, 2016

I don’t know if many of you are still tuning into this weekend sitcom, aka lakorn from OneHD, but Rak Fun Thalop has concluded its eighth, final episode this Saturday. Show presents two best friends – Priew and Risa – who embark on a road trip to nineteen temples in order to wash Risa of her bad luck and find a husband. They must accomplish this in two weeks, before their shared birthday, otherwise Risa risks living alone and atoning for her past sins forever. Along the way they offer a ride to a man named Peet, whom they found attractive because he’s backpacking to Doy Samur Dao in order to preserve the promise he made to his late girlfriend, and to start over.…

Morassoom Sawat – A Tale of The Little Deer and Her Hunter

lovefia

Posted on July 11, 2016

Once upon a time, in a monsoon-laden land, there lived a doe-eyed little deer quite happy to stay in her calm and placid world. To the animals in this kingdom, the little deer represents all that is good in the world: righteous, dignified, sympathetic. But out of nowhere, the temperature drop and the wind increase: the monsoon storm is brewing. The little deer is forced into the woods where she runs headlong into a scary tiger. What becomes of the little deer? Can she befriend and tame the tiger or get eaten alive in the natural order of Hunter-Prey world? Can the little deer keep the boat afloat in the midst of the storm, or get shattered into smithereens in the wake of it?…

Sean and Esther in Boy’s Paradise – Ugly Duckling TV Series

lovefia

Posted on June 17, 2016

I was going through a Sean and Esther withdrawal after Leh Ratree and decided to check out Boy’s Paradise specifically to help ease the withdrawal pains. I think most of us can say that after we’ve seen one lakorn with our favorite pairing, it’s only natural to want to see everything that they’ve been in together. Sometimes I wish they can be in every lakorn together forever, because yunno, they’re meant to be. And lucky me, I think these two are in a real relationship, which is like a dream come true.  I love that lakorn world likes to play Cupid, shooting their arrows at our favorite pairings. Well, except for Jiranee, the pairing I wish Cupid would’ve paid a little more attention to,…

Why ‘Leh Ratree’ Got It Right

lovefia

Posted on June 14, 2016

Among the many slap kiss lakorns and marriage contract genre who got it wrong, Leh Ratree (A Woman’s Trickery) from One HD and Exact production on the other hand, got it so, so right. This 12-episode lakorn not only dispels the standard social difference and debt repayment plot device, this show defies it by offering witty writing, compelling conflict and lovable (but developed) characters.

First Look at ‘Ka Badin’

lovefia

Posted on July 22, 2014

Yes please. Finally. It’s been SO long since we got to see the adorable James Ma. If you are a fan you would not easily forget his portrayal of Khun Chai Ronnapee, nor forget his penchant to march into dangerous waters and singlehandedly kick some ass.  No one does action scenes like James Ma, nor look as good while doing it. Like a true action hero, he ignores the camera angles and just gets things done. Perhaps we credit the director. Perhaps it’s James Ma. I for one cannot conjure another name.

Tawan’s Sassy Rose – A Review

lovefia

Posted on June 4, 2014

My favorite time of the year is the brink of Summer, right when the dew of Spring dries up, making way for long and slow days. The days are a little more effortless; the mood is a little more uplifting. Thus, putting me in the mood for some light hearted and fun lakorn. What better way to enjoy the onset of Summer, than to live vicariously through the lives of Rose and Tawan at Tawan’s Farm? There is something about a city girl having to live her life in the countryside – farmland even – and giving up the simple measures of life’s conveniences, that makes the viewing experience quite empathetic. A romp in the pigsty is just what the doctor ordered, but don’t…

First Ekkaphong in Kularb Son Klin

lovefia

Posted on May 12, 2014

Currently airing on evening television is Kularb Son Klin starring First Ekkaphong and Marie Broenner by Quiz and Quest production. Evening dramas air Monday to Friday for 50 minutes and doesn’t procure as many viewers as their primetime counterpart, and they tend to be a little fluffier and a lot more contrived. However, after giving evening dramas my due diligence, I find myself enjoying it so thoroughly. And you have one person to thank for that, First Ekkaphong. Despite being relegated to playing an evening drama pr’ek, I find First to be more engaging than other primetime pr’eks out there. He’s charming, too tall, and absolutely too handsome for his own good. I started noticing First in Nang Rai Summer where he delighted me…

The Lady Summer (Nang Rai Summer)– A Review

lovefia

Posted on May 5, 2014

More than twenty years ago, Pu Song Tarn Resort in Ratburi had once been a renowned resort due to its exotic and rare hybrid flower, The Lady Summer. However after the unfortunate death of its horticulturist, this rare breed ceased to bloom and flower for any eyes to feast upon its beauty, thus taking away the guests, the popularity, and the curiosity with it, leaving Pu Song Tarn Resort scraping by in present day, with an interested buyer knocking at its door. But the younger generation of the resort owner, Tonnam (First Akkapong), has grand ideals and strong work ethic, not to mention something to prove. He is determined to turn things around and make his resort- a resort that his father built from…

Spinsters and Casanovas

lovefia

Posted on April 28, 2014

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single woman in possession of a good head, must be in want of greener pastures. In the case of Spinster versus Casanovas, three 35 year old women – established women mind you – are handed a classic feminine issue, their good friend is getting married and they are still, unequivocally single. This usually doesn’t bother them, until their good friend contrives for all three women to meet face to face after several years since the disbandment of their friendship.  Suddenly, the competitiveness, the pain and hurt takes center stage. The three women turn their pain into anger and vow that they will MARRY before the other and in one month no less. It doesn’t matter that…
