Krong Karm: Entering the Cage by Greta

Posted on May 12, 2019

Hello everybody! Today, I’m not here to do a shameless plug of Krong Karm (Cage of Karma) but I opted to talk fully about it instead. This lakorn was shown late February this year and has since started a hype among Thai fans. As the show ended and the subs of the final episodes had already been uploaded, I think it’s best to give a full overview of the plot in order to let those who haven’t seen it have a glimpse and hopefully catch up or binge watch the show now that it’s over.

Posted on March 16, 2019

Hello everyone! Are you guys still there? I have to apologize for taking such a long time to churn this out since I’ve been busy with other things. (Shameless plug: Don’t forget to watch Krong Karm! It’s really very good!) Without further ado, I give you Episode 5 Coffee Talk for Nueng Dao Fah Diew (One Land One Sky) In the previous episode, more aspects of the story are revealed to us viewers. In this episode, our characters step back by not only continuing to conceal their secrets, but also hiding their motives through tricks in order to get what they seek.

Posted on February 14, 2019

Hello everyone! Welcome to another coffee talk for Nueng Dao Fah Diew (“One Land, One Sky”). For those who have read the coffee talks for Episodes 1-3, I thank you for stopping by to read my ramblings. Thanks again to P’Fia for letting me guest write this coffee-talk series, and for Humbledaisy for suggesting the term “coffee-talk”. Thank you also to those who left comments. Hope you guys join in the discussion here too! Let’s do a very quick recap shall we? In the first episode, we saw how the story was presented like a kollabot, with characters and plot points shrouded in mystery. In the second episode, everyone seemed eager to uncover the hidden meanings of things. In the middle of all this…

Posted on February 4, 2019

I hope you guys are as excited for this coffee talk as I am. It’s in episode 3 when the story of Nueng Dao Fah Diew (One Land One Sky) finally progresses in the love department. The characters have been introduced, and the conflict has been laid out. Finally, in episode 3, we get to see more interactions between Khanthong/Khanthin and Mangmao and they finally become allies after bickering in the first two episodes.

NDFD Episode 2: Unraveling the Mystery by Greta

lovefia

Posted on February 3, 2019

Hello readers! Thanks to everyone who has stopped by to read this coffee talk once again. There are still some characters who were introduced in Episode 1 that I haven’t yet touched upon, and I will try to include them in the discussion for Episode 2. Like the first episode, Episode 2 is another introductory episode which shows us more about the characters and the world of Nueng Dao Fah Diew (One Land One Sky). Episode 2 has a recurring theme – that is, unlocking a mystery. If in episode 1, everyone was presented like a Kollabot, in episode 2, everyone seemed to be wanting to decipher it. Almost every character in NDFD keeps a secret and another character is intent in unlocking it.

Posted on January 23, 2019

Written by Greta Hello everyone! I am here again. First I would like to thank P’Fia for allowing me to guest write at her wonderful lakorn blog. I hope I don’t bore you guys with my lecture series, though as Humbledaisy said, perhaps it’s better to call it “coffee talk”. Hope you guys do chime in and share your thoughts. I’m sure P’Fia would love that too, very much. Anyway, hope you have your coffee ready as you might need to stay alert with this academic part.

Poo Dee E-Sarn: Episode 3

lovefia

Posted on January 21, 2019

What I enjoy most about this show is the tone, and at the backdrop of this tone, is this thoughtful writing. I feel like I am part of this world, rooted with these characters whom I have come to care about. Because of the author’s thoughtfulness, she opens up a world where we can sit back, relax and trust in the process. In this episode, Chet gets a new housekeeper (houseboy) and on his survey of the population, he learns more about the former Nai Amphoe, directly from the people of his district.

Nai Amphoe Chet settles in his new district, learning the big and small players. We get an introduction to Chet’s personality, and what he is made of. At the same time, Saleen looks for a job at the Amphoe’s office but finds herself going a different direction. As she sees firsthand that Nai Amphoe Chet fears no one, not even the influential Phor Yai Loi, we are all like Saleen, feeling a little bit safer with Nai Amphoe Chet steering this ship. So, hop on everyone, the ship is sailing.

New Recapping Project: Poo Dee E-Sarn: Episode 1

lovefia

Posted on January 18, 2019

Let’s begin our year by taking a nice, long stroll with Poo Dee E-Sarn, a lakorn that aired back in 2013 on Channel 3. I will endeavor to cover recaps for this, releasing a few episodes a week. This show has that lighthearted, romantic comedy feel to it that keeps me coming back for more. It is to be savored and drawn out as long as delectably possible, and with it being an evening lakorn, there are a total of 31 episodes, in 55 minutes increment. Let’s get our slow burn going, one bite sized episode at a time.
