Omo. Were you just waiting for me to watch episodes 7 and 8? Wowza, I don’t think I breathed the last few seconds of episode 8. That was hot. The lakorn gods must have heard me. Where do I begin?

Episode 7 & 8 Recap

The theme woven nicely in these two episodes is that of memories, one that is of her upbringing and what could have been.

It was Dujupsorn’s first visit to Juthathep Palace to meet Khun Phu and his fiancée so that they could discuss the wedding plans. Khun Petch assures her that only kind people are here, no villains a la Ban Sai Thong. He smiles at the braids and comments that she looks like an elementary student. Even his driver humors her and welcomes her to Ban Sai Thong. LOL. Khun Phu and Laor approve of Dujupsorn’s idea for their wedding, but as they share refreshments, great granny sees her side profile and mistaken her for her mother, Wilairampa. This was the start of Dujupsorn’s anxiety and nerves.

It worsens as Khun Petch leads her to Khun Chai Phee’s house. It was all too much for Dujupsorn, after hearing how much her mother had villainized the family and how much she had suffered from those harsh treatments. Dujupsorn collapses like a rag doll. I love all of the closeup shots of Dujupsorn sweating, her anxiety building, and Khun Petch’s concerned and curious looks at her. When Dujupsorn comes to, she finds Piangkwan gently wiping her face and everyone so attentive to around her. Dujupsorn keeps apologizing and thanking them. Khun Petch could not read her expression, but he consoles her that no one minds that she fell ill and that she can stop apologizing about it.

I love the constant reminder of being in the present. Even Khun Petch asks her to look at him and see if he looks mad. As she gets home though, her mother has disappeared. Another frantic moment for Dujupsorn as she races around the neighborhood, shoeless. Khun Petch’s spidey senses triggers as she spies her shoes on the ground and recalls how she has a mental mother and that her mother resembles Rampa. Piece it together, good looking!

The event at the palace and her own mother’s nervous breakdown yet again prompts Dujupsorn to feel depressed in the next few days. It does not go without notice though, because Khun Petch notices everything about her. He cheers her up with a new pair of shoes and lunch. Man after my own heart. He even offers his friend’s business card so that she can book an appointment because sickness can’t wait. He is just so sweet. Argh, what a keeper.

Dujupsorn’s dialogue with her aunt is rather touching as we get to spend some time inside her head and know how she is feeling about the last few days. Dujupsorn tells her aunt that she realizes something after being in Juthathep Palace. She finally understood why her mother longed for that life. It was a beautiful life, everything one could dream of. Aunt wonders if she feels sorry for her mother. But Dujupsorn replies that she feels sorry for her dad. *TEARS* Dammit it, Show. Dujupsorn continues that she felt what they had together as a family was the best and yet it was nothing compared to what Juthathep had. The life that her mother used to live and dream of wasn’t something an ordinary person could ever achieve in this life. No matter how hard her father tried he would never be good enough. Which is why she feels so bad for her dad. Oof, this scene was so good.

We continue with episode 8 (squee) and off we go to Chiang Mai on a business trip to deal with pesky management. Her mother would not allow her to go to Chiang Mai with Khun Petch declaring that she would die in front of her if she did, but Aunt stepped in and reminded Dujupsorn that she has a responsibility to her job and she shouldn’t be a freeloader like her mother (LOL).

Upon arriving in Chiang Mai, Khun Petch wonders where she considers home. Dujupsorn says that Chiang Mai is home for her because she was born and raised there and also because her father is there. Khun Petch learns that her father passed away when she was a kid and wonders if she is still having a hard time after losing him. Dujupsorn says it was a long time ago but she misses him, especially when she comes home. Khun Petch believes it is her duty to remember her father, not to forget him. She always finds a way to cheer Dujupsorn up and make her feel at peace.

We had the chance to watch them work through problems together, explore Chiang Mai, and savor all the delicious foods. Dujupsorn asked him if he found work boring, but Khun Petch responded that only people bored him. Those are some really true words. You can tell she admires his work ethic and how he manages his company. Due to poor management and oversight of low-quality products, the condominium received several complaints. Khun Petch personally received each of the complaints. Dujupsorn overheard the branch manager and the Marketing director discussing covering their tracks. She shared her discovery with Khun Petch, who is still looking for solid evidence.

One of their more meaningful conversations took place by the water on a quiet evening. Dujupsorn shared memories of her father and asked what it was like to grow up in a large family. She mentioned that Khun Poom had told her that because Khun Petch is the eldest, he had to take on a lot of responsibilities. Khun Petch asked if Cousin Poom had mentioned anything else about him, to which Dujupsorn looked at him awkwardly. Khun Petch mentioned that his childhood was chaotic, as he had to take care of ten kids and was always getting into trouble. Sometimes he wondered what it would be like to be an only child, which prompted Dujupsorn to ask him what he wished to do. However, their mood was ruined when his pesky cousin called him.

Dujupsorn asked Khun Petch what he was about to say. Khun Petch looked closely at her and said that if he were an only child, he would not have to make sacrifices. There was tension in the air that you could cut with a knife. Dujupsorn stared back at him and then tripped on the sidewalk, falling into his arms. Kyaaaa. There was a moment of them just being aware of each other, with his arms catching her fall.

The moment continues all the way to the hotel room. It’s an executive suite with two bedrooms and a shared space. Dujupsorn encouraged him to use the master bedroom because she can’t live with herself if her boss had to take the smaller room. She gets a phone call from Cousin Poom, but she was not pleased that Khun Petch would consider making sacrifices for his cousin. Khun Poom asked her to take care of his cousin, which made her nearly roll her eyes. Girl, you are the one playing the field. LOL.

And nothing heightens an already tense situation like a storm. Khun Petch remembered Dujupsorn mentioning that it rained very hard when her father passed away. He found her buried under the covers and invited her to chat about work to take her mind off the storm. However, all Dujupsorn could see was the bottle of wine. Khun Petch allowed her to have a glass, and after drinking, she became tipsy, which he found quite adorable. The tension built up until they both leaned down to grab a fallen pen, and their faces touched, leading to them leaning over and kissing. OMO.

The kiss did not end after one meeting. They kissed again and again until the thunder erupted, bringing them to their senses. Khun Petch said she should probably go to her room, but he tenderly touched her face and gave her a kiss on the forehead, wishing her a good night. Dujupsorn looked dazed but smiled back at him and returned to her room. Kyaa!

Comments

And they expect me to move on after that scene? Like, do other things? Wow, I wasn’t expecting the kiss, which made it even better. We are more than halfway through the story, and I’m glad there’s progress beyond mere awareness. Now it will be interesting to see if they pretend nothing happened or if we enter a dating era. Don’t tell me!

Love is in the air, and even Ploy decides to give Vit a chance.

Two great episodes, which will satisfy me until I get back from vacation. Thanks for the rec! Even the blooper is cute:
