They may be on again and off again but when they are together, they are so adorable. Sigh. I am not the strongest soldier during love triangle scenes, even if it is fake, because my poor Khun Petch is hurting inside. I might need to marathon this lakorn to get through the pain.

Episode 5 & 6 Thoughts

Earlier the five lions alluded to the fact that M.L. Tharatorn is still alive but can occasionally possess the body of Khun Petch whenever Khun Petch takes on his big bro, self-sacrifice agenda. I see it now, Khun Petch just throws in the sulkiness to make it more bearable. To his point, he has made his intentions clear to Dujupsorn, and he has no right to tell his cousin to backoff when she is giving him a chance. His bestie, the playboy who is pursuing Khun Petch’s sister bet on his playboy experience that Dujupsorn has feelings for him and he needs to get to the bottom of why she’s giving cousin Poom a chance. Yes, listen to him!

Meanwhile, Dujupsorn has to pursue Khun Poom, but all she can talk about is how great Khun Petch is. At least their dates are pretty funny and I don’t dislike Cousin Poom, because he is pursuing what his sixth sense is telling him to do: get closer to her and he might discover something. It might not even be a romantic something. Half of the time I feel like he’s egging big bro cousin on, but he seems harmless (gulp) right now. So really, the biggest rival for Khun Petch is not even his cousin Poom or his love interest Dujupsorn, but his own DNA. But we can’t forget psycho mom. I do like that his sus radar is high and he’s continuing to investigate Wilairampa and any ties to Dujupsorn.

Methinks Daddy Chai Yai has a bad rap about his self-sacrifice because he is a smooth operator as he ages. He advised his son to try not to understand the inner workings of a lady’s mind, but to try and please her instead. Lmao. So wise. I always thought Khun Petch was smooth like Dad, but maybe his confidence is encountering a small bump in the road.

Other plot lines involve Lisa and her new boyfriend whom the family doesn’t trust, and we see that he is only dating her to benefit from her prestigious family and her ties with the Juthathep. Also, the playboy is hoping to end his casanova ways if he can tie the knot with Khun Petch’s younger sister.

But we all know I am solely here for the main love line, the office shenanigans, and the funny references to lakorns in the 90s, such as Ban Sai Thong. We even see Dujupsorn do the braids for her entrance into Juthathep Palace, mirroring that of Potchaman entering Ban Sai Thong.

I do enjoy just watching Khun Petch and Fah spend time at the bookstore, or their small talk on the drive home, or savor a simple meal together. That is enough to keep me going.
