Forget meet cute, we have meet funny.

Puttarn’s landing in Ayutthaya era was not the smoothest, a beam of light through the Krishna Kali relic takes her 300 years back, facing a man who thinks she is a ghost and sends her flying with a kick. LOL. I am sorry, that was not very gentlemanly of Phor Rid, but he was frightened out of his wits, first he saw a beam of light pointing to something buried underneath, and as he pulled out the treasure, a woman-ghost tried to snatch his family relic. Besides, she talked different and was very forward with her approach, like grabbing his arm, which one never does with a man who is neither her kin nor her husband. Phor Rid was merely trying to beat his sister to the house to swap out her dead rooster.

He does apologize for his behavior because he was raised better than that, and offers her some silver to pay for any physical damage. But before he could take off, the woman collapsed in his arms, her face covering falls, revealing a face he is far too familiar with. She looks like the young version of his mother! But trying to find answers about her origin was not his priority – family first – and he plans to get to the bottom of it another time. The proprietor, an old lady by the name of Gui with a granddaughter called Mae Klin, were astonished by what they saw. Granny Gui thinks the woman is a goddess sent from above and she has been tasked to take care of her. Mae Klin on the other hand felt an immediate hostility from the woman, with her bizarre clothing and strange talk – plus the scary look in her eyes – Mae Klin looks at Puttarn like she’s the devil incarnate.

The disparity between Kadesurang’s landing in Ayutthaya versus Puttarn’s experience is polar opposite. Kadesurang lived in a noble person’s home, two loyal servants flanking her side, and an unmatched excitement for everything historical. Like the girl LOVED and enjoyed every minute of her experience (even the bad ones). Now she has four adorable children, a husband who adores her, and enjoys food worthy of an Ayutthayan cooking show. Meanwhile Puttarn meets what seems like her enemy from the past life. Puttarn is served a paltry plate of food and even when if finally dawned on her that she time traveled, girl can barely put on an excited face, it is a fight or flight matter. Hats off to Bella who can make us believe that we are watching two different people!

And Pope! There is plenty of Pope to go around, Khun P (still swoony after years with his wife), Phor Rueng – the older son who seems to take the swoony gene from his father, those sweet, gentle eyes! I want more of him – and the cheeky Phor Rid whose natural state is as smiley as his mother’s. Pope conveys three people so perfectly. I have always marveled at Pope’s acting skills, and this one just takes it up a notch. One thing that came to mind during Phor Rid’s first meeting with Puttarn, and maybe show will go there soon, I was hoping that her “strange” behavior and manner of speaking would spark his curiosity about where she was from. Not only does she look like his mother, she sure talks like her too. Let’s do math, Phor Rid! Perhaps that will draw her to him if his curiosity is as insatiable as Kadesurang’s.

I love the two daughters – they are adorable! Already corrupted by their lovely mother. I am also excited to meet the two princes. I feel for Mae Klin though, who’s hierarchy was taken down a notch when Puttarn arrived, she had been the only granddaughter, but now she has to share the love and attention with Puttarn. While I would love to see just the daily life of Ayutthaya and want the girls to get along, this is a show about karma, and Puttarn has to pay her dues. Maybe Phor Rid will give her a reason to smile, because I am smiling already.
