Dao Reurng Episode 2

It’s another day in the life of Dao Reurng, yunno, breaking the law, being a total badass. But things aren’t going to be that easy with the new Deputy in town. Despite thinking that he’ll be just like the others- who will run away with his tail between his leg in seven days- this new Palat Jin is going to prove her and the rest of the townsfolks wrong, that he intends to stay and make a difference. Methinks it’s going to be awhile to get through to Reurng, and perhaps even longer to reform said town. But who here swoons every time Khun Palat refers to the thug as “Dao Reurng?” (Instead of Reurng, ‘Ai Reurng..) At least he thinks of her as a girl. Heeh.

Episode 2 Recap

Khun Palat Jin is in the process of learning the background of the village’s resident thug Dao Reurng, from Sergeant Men Kaeng Moot, when the Sergeant gets an urgent phone call from Phoo Yai Pan. With one wave of his hand, Sergeant says to Khun Palat- as he hangs up the phone- that if he really wants to learn all there is to know about Ai Reurng, he needs to follow him.

They make haste to Dao Reurng’s home, turned food booth, turned card playing central. The back of the domain houses a few rooms that are currently occupied with her mother and a team of gamblers. We even see Phoo Yai’s wives and plus or minus a few aunties. Like any poker, card gaming individuals, the players here are talking a lot of smack, trying to rile up the other. We can see Dao Reurng getting her sassiness and (pain in the ass-ness?) from her mother, Bancheun, who teases Phoo Yai’s first wife that she has lost to her in everything, whether it is in cards or beauty pageants. Heh.

Sergeant Kaeng Moot watches too much action flicks, and proceeds to circumvent the house as if on a crime raid. Kamjorn tells Khun Palat to humor the old fellow, as they follow the Sergeant towards the back of the house with a shake of their heads. It’s hard to take the cop seriously when he’s so much like a cartoon character.

The ladies all scramble when one of the aunties mutter under her breath that cops are here. Khun Palat and Kamjorn stand outside of the door while the lot of them runs away- Khun Palat is confused as to why they aren’t arresting the ones who are running away. But Sergeant has a plan, they shall focus on the one in house while the ones running away are caught by the other cops waiting outside. Plan worked, as all of the gamblers are locked behind bars.

Mer rushes over to report to Dao Reurng of the recent development. Behind the bars, the wives demand to know who told on them, since they have never been caught before. Much to their surprise, Sergeant asks if they know who Phoo Yai Pan is, in which the ladies screech that their own hubby told on them! LOL. Momma Bancheun tells them to stop singing, this is not a karaoke place. Soon enough, Phoo Yai and the trio arrive at the jailhouse and they too are surprise that his wives are behind bars. Methinks he meant to get back at Dao Reurng and her mom, but didn’t think to find his own wives there! Ha. He confesses his intentions to his wives, that Ai Reurng had put stinging nettles into his wash basin. Momma Bancheun still defends her daughter, that how do they know she’s behind it?

Dao Reurng appears with her gang and asks who dare put her mother behind bars. They all (including the trio) point at Phoo Yai- who says that he was the one to report it, but not the one to make the arrest. Heh. One by one they all deny to be the one responsible for arresting her mother (Sergeant took the order, Kamjorn arrested everyone else etc.) Then finally, the last person, our own Khun Palat says, “yep, I did it.”

“And where is the evidence?” Dao Reurng wants to know. Sergeant chimes in that there is evidence and she will surly see.

“There better be, or else you will release all of them,” Dao Reurng threatens.

As the group leaves to look at said evidence, Reurng pokes at Mer who systematically fakes a stomach pain. Then we see Little Pian (while everyone is distracted) rushing upstairs. This doesn’t surpass Khun Palat’s eyes though as he follows the boy.

By the time the Sergeant and Dao Reurng reach the evidence’s hidden spot, it has already gone missing. Reurng smiles confidently as she thinks she has outsmarted them. But Little Pian, although successful at stealing the evidence, gets caught by Khun Palat who is waiting outside instead.

At the jailhouse the Sergeant releases everyone on the basis of lack of evidence. The trio wonders how Reurng was able to get rid of it, but Ai Wan surmises out loud that at least his future wife is safe. Heh. But Mer misconstrues his comment and says shyly that she can’t believe if he would admit such a thing in front of everyone. Ai Wan yells at her that he’s referring to Dao Reurng. Ha. Ai Wan further says that if she’s caught in jail and is accused as the owner of the gambling house, he wouldn’t be able to accept it. Reurng arrogantly acknowledges that she won’t get caught easily.

Khun Palat walks in (how timely!) to show the crowd the evidence he procured from Little Pian. Reurng cringes at getting caught. Khun Palat tells her that he’s just doing his job and if she were to be angry, she should be furious at herself, as the owner of the gambling house. Don’t be furious at the whistle blower (Phoo Yai Pan), in which Ai Wan chimes in that she could be mad at his dad, just not at him. Heh. Reurng advises the lot of them to return the temple’s generator or she will make their lives a living hell.

Sergeant is ecstatic at making the perpetrators pay for gambling, he has been trying to catch them for years, but they always get a way. He wants to take the credit (obviously) but Kamjorn says that without Khun Palat, he wouldn’t have succeeded. But Sergeant says that if he didn’t catch the evidence then there wouldn’t be a chance that Little Pian would have stolen it and Khun Palat wouldn’t have caught him, lol. Kamjorn says that’s like asking what came first, the chicken or the egg? If Sergeant didn’t receive a phone call from Phoo Yai, he would never have found out. Heh. Sergeant is exasperated by Kamjorn and asks him why he can’t give him a measure of happiness over this.

Khun Palat ends the argument by telling the two they should all work together. Sergeant thinks it’s a bright idea, he wants to stop Reurng’s tyranny. Khun Palat adds that he will help stop everyone who is breaking the law (not just Reurng.) Palat Jin’s pumped up, but by the looks of Sergeant, it might be too much work.

Back at Dao Reurng’s home, Mer apologizes for not being convincing enough, who knew the new Palat would be so quick? Momma Bancheun wonders how long they will have to close the gambling house, because now people aren’t going to want to come and play. Reurng tells her mom not to worry, if that deputy dares to interfere with her affairs, he is not above an ass whooping.

Our deputy is walking back to his house with Kamjorn when Kamjorn shares that when everyone is much younger, Phoo Yai Pan, Sergeant Men and Luang Taa were courting Bancheun, so that is why they turn to jelly when it comes to Reurng’s mom. Khun Palat surmises that if the elders of the village acted with respect, the younger generation wouldn’t be so daring (namely Dao Reurng.) After the heartache, the elders move along and focus on their specialty (raising chickens, fooling the public and playing authority.) Khun Palat then wonders if it’s really true that Dao Reurng put stinging nettles in Phoo Yai’s water basin? Kamjorn knows for certain she did, he shows Khun Palat within the forest, a family of stinging nettles.

“This kid is a pain in the ass,” Khun Palat mutters as he looks at the plant.

“Kid? She is no longer a kid,” advises Kamjorn with a laugh. “He’s new, he’s new,” Kamjorn reminds himself, referring to Khun Palat.

This leaves the deputy wondering what that’s supposed to mean. She’s not a kid…

We are introduced to another character by the name of Rose. She’s currently filming a CV and asking her assistant/manager named Namwarn whether “he” has called yet. (Looks to be like she’s Jin’s girl, love interest, or “friend.” We’re not sure yet, and I referred to her in ep 1 as Rut, because at the time, it’s hard to tell by their English pronunciations, heh. )

That evening, Kamjorn delivers dinner for Khun Palat, who steps out to his porch in a tank top and a Thai scarf wrapped around his hips. He’s on his phone again so Kamjorn guesses that he must be calling his girlfriend. Khun Palat says that he’s astute, but if he uses this skill towards his work, that would be great too. Heh. Kamjorn knows he’s being scolded at again. Khun Palat dials his girlfriend’s number, but can’t get a hold of her, and we know this because earlier, her assistant mentions that Rose’s cell power died.

Preuk is on his flower delivery run, and it so happens to be at Rose’s complex. He goes up to the third floor and a voice allows him entrance right away, so he goes in.

“The oil is right there,” the voice instructs, which confuses Preuk. “Do you not see it?”

He does, and takes the bottle of oil towards the curtain, where the voice is coming from.

“Massage it on my shoulders, my arms are so sore.”

“I don’t know how to massage,” Preuk explains.

Rose’s eyes turn into saucers. She peeks out of the curtains, and the two stare at each other in shock. He immediately turns away and she yells at him.

“Who are you? What are you doing here?”

Before he could answer, she tells him to get out.

“I’m not a massage therapist, I’m-“

She assumes he is here to take pictures of her and blackmail her afterwards. Heh.

“Calm down lady, don’t misunderstand. I was just-“ he tries yet again to explain.

“I’m a famous celeb, you’re trying to get money out of me right?!”

“You’re a famous celeb?” he asks.

“What?! You haven’t heard of Sudawadee?”

“Sudawadee?!” he excuses himself with a flurry. “I came into the wrong room, I’m sorry!” he rushes out.

He meets her manager/assistant on the ground floor and gives the bouquet to her instead- he thinks she’s Rose. Namwarn notices a pretty face when she sees one. She asks him if he’s ever interested in modeling or being an actor. Preuk says he’s not talented in this area. He declines politely and thanks for her thoughtfulness. By the by, Preuk mistakes Namwarn for being Rose.

At Phoo Yai’s house, mom rips her son a new one. Mer’s auntie pays them a visit, on a goodwill mission to help them relieve their “itches.” I’m wondering if this is something Ai Reurng has up her sleeves. Mer’s auntie says they would need to strip (heh) and she proceeds to drop wax onto their bodies to help relieve the itch. Prior to this, the funny part is in designating who would do this- as none of the three wives want anything to do with four naked men. Reurng and Little Pian spy by the ground level of the house and laugh their asses off. She doesn’t think it’s enough though and plots their next lesson.

It’s a full moon. The night is misty. Luang Taa spies a few figures in the temple. The trio is returning the generator to the temple since they’ve been warned by Reurng, and Ai Wan says that Luang Taa’s hexed water failed so they must get back at him. Heh, but Luang Taa overhear them and plots their demise.

As they deliver the generator back to its original spot, they hear a voice, “you should recant.” One of the minions thinks the other is talking, but they soon learn that there is a fourth voice. Heh. They peer up at the ledge and see a big boy (looking like a dead ghost), dandling his feet over the deck. The trio scream in fright but as they turn, they see a grim reaper, filled with little girl’s laughter. The three high tails out of there, leaving Reurng and Little Piang succeeding in their plan to terrify and teach them a lesson.  She doesn’t stop there.

On the way to Gamnan Term’s house, the truck stops working. Khun Palat decides to walk on foot. Kamjorn takes on a terrified look and advises that they visit the elder tomorrow morning since it’s late. Khun Palat says it’s only 8pm, and he wants to find out who’s behind the shooting of Gamnam Term’s last week. Kamjorn tells him that in order to get to Gamnan’s house, one has to pass the cemetery. Just the talk of it terrifies Kamjorn. Unconcerned, Khun Palat makes his way there.

The three guys are scared shitless, even their hairs are standing on its end. They think they got away, but another figure comes out, with a different voice (heh, it’s Luang Taa’s voice getting back at them.) He wonders who they’re running away from, but never mind that, he’s going to keep scaring them.

As the boys meander away, they spot another pale face ghost (this time Reurng) and scream. Heh. They could not run fast enough. Then pale face ghost comes face to face with the goblin (her hair grew a few inches) and the two scare each other. LOL. Goes to show that karma is not prejudice.

The goblin even meets with pale face’s buddy- scary boy- and they scare each other too.

Khun Palat and Kamjorn make their way towards the cemetery and see three screaming men coming out. Palat wonders who or what they are running away from. At this point Kamjorn is already terrified of being in the cemetery at night. When he sees the pale face girl, he completely loses it, not even a peep comes out of his mouth as he passes out. Khun Palat grabs hold of the “ghost” but only snags her shoe.

Momma Bancheun cleans the cut on Reurng’s foot, chiding her for trying to scare people, that’s what she gets. Reurng says that she wouldn’t have cut her foot if that Palat fellow didn’t interfere.

The following morning at Phoo Yai’s house, the wives discover three scared stiff bodies by the front door. They yelp in fright but realizes that it’s Ai Wan, they immediately carted the boys to the temple to see if the monk can ascertain what had happened to them.

Khun Palat evaluates the mysterious shoe, he figures since it’s small, it must belong to a female. Kamjorn awakes screaming “ghost!!” in Khun Palat’s room. He bemusedly thanks Khun Palat for allowing him to stay there overnight and he spots Ai Reurng’s shoe on the table.

That explains a lot to Khun Palat.

Reurng fixes her hair to its typical style and tells herself in the mirror, ‘ghosts aren’t real right?’

She receives a visitor, Khun Palat, and her mom worries whether he’s here to condemn her. But Reurng says she didn’t do anything wrong to him per se, just to Ai Wan. Heh. Reurng steps into her food booth and announces that they accept only cash, even from the highest level of ministry. Khun Palat orders two cups of coffee, glancing down at her feet. Oh, Reurng. He notices her shoes don’t match and a smile crosses his face. Reurng over charges the coffee (by doubling it) and Khun Palat wants to know why it’s more expensive for him. She replies that the price went up the moment Khun Palat entered her booth. Heh. But Khun Palat tells her that her hike in price is more than what the law permits, which means she’s taking advantage of her customers, which is against the law. To rectify the problem, she pours half of their coffee down the drain. Heh.

As they bicker, one of Phoo Yai’s wives drives by, rushing to the temple. Reurng leaves the food booth so she could see the result of her handiwork.

At the temple, the monk says he could not help them so they arrange for Luang Taa to come, and the man mutters under his breath why they are so stiff (heh, he didn’t imagine that he had scared them that much.) So when he goes into character, he knows exactly what to say. The trio turn to him and comopletely believe it. Dao Reurng shows up and says that if they don’t want to get haunted again, they need to own up to their sins. She further says that the temple ghost only haunts those that want to do harm/steal from the temple. She turns to the monk and asks whether he agrees. Lol. The monk merely says that it must be that way and proceeds to walk away, saying to himself, helping to protect the temple, that’s not a sin.

Reurng and Little Pian are in such good moods as they stroll down the path. She spots Khun Palat’s truck though and pauses. He comes out, bearing something behind his back.

“Those shoes are pretty, are they new?” he asks.

She snickers, “I’m a pretty person, so whatever I wear is pretty.” Heh.

He adds that he thinks it would be even prettier if she’s wearing the same pair, and takes out her shoe.

Uh oh.

He offers it to her and she grabs it, but he doesn’t let go.

“When an elder gives you something, what should you do first?” he asks.

She releases and gives him a paltry wai (respect.)

“Wai’ing like that will insult your momma,” Kamjorn chimes in. He shows her how her mom usually does it when accepting her prize for a pageant. He wonders why she can’t do the same.

Reurng does an over exaggerated wai to his feet, lol.

Kamjorn explains that Khun Palat is returning her shoe in order to preserve her face (her reputation.) They know that she and Little Pian are responsible for scaring the trio. But Khun Palat wants to be her friend. In which Reurng scoffs when she hears this, she doesn’t want to befriend someone in the ministry. He tells her that there are good people in the ministry too, she need only to look. She tells him to see if he could last two weeks first, then they can reconsider.

Mer and her auntie prescribe some vegetable plants to make into medicine for the trio to drink. Auntie gets in a fight with one of the wives though, when Phoo Yai says that she has a bad mouth that’s why she can’t find a husband, and she responds with her capabilities and offers for Phoo Yai to try her out. Heh.

Rose wakes up the next morning and learns she has to get ready for an event in a few hours. She notices the bouquet of flowers, which reminds her of Jin, and she realizes she has several missed calls from him.

Our Palat is getting introduced to the rest of the ministry in the province. As he walks out of the conference room, he wonders where everyone is at (by everyone, he means the people.) Kamjorn, his assistant, says that there are people who need help, but it’s a matter of who they seek. As if answering that question, a blue truck pulls over and a man presents the new deputy with a basket of gifts.

“This is from my boss,” the man says.

Khun Palat reads the note, it’s from Gampon, which says that he hopes Khun Palat would like the gifts he sent. An envelope entails $100,000 baht. Bribery to a deputy on his first day! Khun Palat tells the man that he won’t accept what’s in the envelope and to tell the boss thank you.

Khun Palat turns to Kamjorn with a questioning look. Kamjorn explains that Sia Gampon is someone that Don Pattana (the village) has been attached to since birth, growing up and dying.

“So another powerful person?” guesses Khun Palat.

“Don’t compare them,” Kamjorn says, he’s referring to Reurng and Gampon. “Sia Gampon is a god.”

A troubled look crosses Khun Palat’s face. Another badass he has to deal with, and from the looks of things, this is the more poisonous one.

We meet Sia Gampon who scoffs at Khun Palat’s nonchalance. He’s going to let him do his arrogance dance first, because he will inevitably come crawling to him later, just the way that every gray and black hair townspeople already do. His minion feels that this may be the real deal Palat, but Sia Gampon isn’t threatened, because he’ll turn him into another Gamnan Term. Hm. Perhaps he’s the one who hired people to shoot after Gamnan Term?

Speaking of Gamnan Term, Khun Palat pays him a visit next. The older man has his arm in a sling from the previous gunshot wound. But Gamnan is neither nice nor welcoming. He says that he’s not dead yet, is he blind? He doesn’t need the Palat to visit him. Khun Palat asks him why he doesn’t report the shooting. Gamnan replies that even if he does, no one would dare arrest the culprit. So he knows, and Khun Palat surmises as much. Gamnan doesn’t want to waste his breath saying the culprit’s name because people would think he’s crazy. He tells Khun Palat to get the heck out, then asks to hitch a ride with him. Khun Palat realizes that just the act of breathing is wrong in Gamnan’s eyes. Lol.

The jeep nearly comes into a collision with an oncoming police truck, driven by the Sergeant, who is in a rush to arrest a perpetrator. He tells them that he’s going after a big criminal, someone who is manufacturing large contents of alcohol.

Khun Palat and crew decide to tag along to help the Sergeant. Prior to jumping into the truck however, he takes a call from Rose. She tells him that the bouquet is beautiful but that she just had time to call him back now. Then she gives him a hard time for leaving to that province without saying goodbye, and now he has to go.  She tries to call back but he has already hung up. In a rush, Rose leaves for work. Meanwhile Jin calls his momma to handle things with Rose for him (heh, smh.) Momma arranges another set of bouquet for Rose and asks Preuk to go on a delivery.

That alcohol “manufacturer” is none other than Reurng, who has some she’s making underground (literally.) Don’t you love how Sergeant over exaggerates everything? He said the criminal is making the largest alcohol production in the country.

Reurng hears a car coming and she covers up her tracks.

The men who follows the Sergeant thinks it’s really some big criminal, but it’s only Ai Reurng, who plays dumb about this whole thing. She tells them that she’s merely hunting for ancestral things.  Sergeant doesn’t believe it and he phones his subordinate to call on the boss, newspaper, the tv, everybody to come here because he has caught the perpetrator. The cop tells her to hand over the stick- and Khun Palat adds that innocent people won’t stand in the way of police investigation- so Reurng drops it by their feet and tells them to search well.

Sergeant thinks he found something as he pounds on the ground. He tells Khun Palat to make sure he takes a picture the moment the board opens up. Heh, and as soon as he says that, Sergeant falls into a trap, of the nasty, stinky kind: chicken shit!

As the Sergeant leaves the clinic, several eyes avert to him, they are the people he had phoned to come. The boss scorns him for failing every time to catch Ai Reurng. Khun Palat wonders if Dao Reurng is actually making alcohol the way that everyone says. Kamjorn says of course, why would the sergeant go after her then? Gamnan says that people in this town are silly and weak. They prefer to go after a little girl then to go after the big guns. Truer words. Perhaps our Khun Palat Jin isn’t as nutty or stupid.

Reurng successfully sells the bottles of alcohol. Little Pian is having a good laugh over Sergeant’s attempt; he wants to catch alcohol but catches shit instead. Reurng smiles cunningly, including the Palat into the same group as Sergeant.

The last thing Gamnan says bugs Khun Palat. He wants to know who else he needs to keep an eye on besides Dao Reurng. Kamjorn doesn’t believe there is anyone else out there who is as big of a pain as Ai Reurng. It doesn’t sit well with Khun Palat though.

Rose is pressed for time and it’ s during Bangkok’s rush hour, and her car is suddenly out of gas. She gets out of traffic, but as she takes a corner, she almost runs into a motorcyclist. [In lakorn world, potential couples always encounter an accident first. And the girl is always a bitch, even if the victim (guy) is in the right of way. Yunno, hi-so=crazy bitch. Then miraculously as she’s yelling at him for being in the wrong, the two recognizes each other. Of course they’ve met before! Then the girl always, always say, ‘what sin have I committed, every time I see you, something unfortunate happens..’]

But our guy this time, is a lot nicer (then other pr’ek who gets into a verbal match) he tells her that she suddenly took an exit and he didn’t see her. She tells him to use common sense (which doesn’t make any sense.. but no one ever mistakes Thai lakorns for being sensible.) She tells him to hurry up and pay for the damages for her car. He replies that she can take a picture of it and report it to the cops, if he’s really in the wrong, he would gladly pay for the damages. But she doesn’t have time to call for a cop for something as small as a fender bender. And of course she throws in the fact that he doesn’t know how much she makes in an hour. That’s really gracious of you, Ms. Stuck Up! But Preuk tells her that because she is a famous celeb, she wouldn’t want to get into the news for a fender bender, right? Heh. She decides not to waste anymore of her time. Poor Preuk has to collect his things, looks to be his motorcycle has more damage than her car.

But lakorn karma is awesome. She runs out of gas and needs his help. Heh. She tells him he needs to take responsibility and drive her to Central World. She jumps on his motorcycle without his consent and beckons him to drive on.

Khun Palat tells his boss that in order to develop a town, they need to start with the people. He thinks their knowledge is regressive, so he would like to start with imparting knowledge to the townspeople. He wants to start with Dao Reurng’s house. Heh. The boss is supportive until he hears the last name. He wants him to stop thinking about it. But Khun Palat wants to start with the worse of the townspeople and the rest would fall in line. Smart thinking.

Khun Palat wants to start with natural fertilizer, but his boss laments that it’s been offered before and it never works. The townspeople prefer to use chemical fertilizer. (This is relatively a normal conflict that seems to inhibit lakorn farm stories.) Khun Palat believes that their trust/belief in chemical fertilizer is wrong, but the boss thinks it’s difficult to change their minds. Despite it all, Khun Palat wants to give it a try. He believes he can turn them around.

Mer tends to Wan, but he refuses to drink the natural medicine she gave him. She’s not his Nong Reurng so he doesn’t want to see her. He tries phoning Reurng, which Mer has, heh. He wants to know why Reurng hasn’t taken his calls and he starts to cry pitifully. Mer notices this and texts him to give him encouragement. One of the minions tries to read the text, but he’s barely literate. Wan thinks Reurng texted him (it’s a poem again, saying that she misses him but doesn’t dare open up. If he truly loves her, he wouldn’t tell anyone, even the two dogs beside him.) Wan agrees to keep it a secret. This seems to cheer up immensely, lol. Which has gotta to be kind of sad for Mer, who claims that she’s happy enough that he’s happy.

Khun Palat pays another visit to Phoo Yai and asks him to draw people to a lecture he will have on natural fertilizers. Phoo Yai tells him that the townspeople aren’t interested because it wastes a lot of time making these fertilizers (not to mention because it would come from animal manure.) Phoo Yai finally relents and say that he will spread the word, but he’s not sure if anyone would believe Khun Palat, who is adamant that at least one person would agree with him.

Khun Palat visits the temple next and asks for permission to give lectures there. When the monk gives him permission, Khun Palat says that someone does agree with him. But the monk isn’t finished, he tells Khun Palat to rethink it. Heh. Luang Phor (the monk) thinks it’s a waste of time for lectures, but he will spread the word. He tells Khun Palat that people don’t listen to him, they listen to Luang Taa.

Khun Palat can only observe the workings of Luang Taa Kong from afar with a look of determination.

Thoughts:

It’s another episode about catching Dao Reurng and she outsmarting them (for now.) I’m not sitting on the edge of my seat or feeling too compelled, but perhaps it is not meant to be that way. It’s an easy, laugh out loud kind of lakorn. What can I say? And because it is a comedy (not sure where the romance if at all would come in) it’s so much more fun to watch then to write about it. I sure hope it doesn’t wear me out.

I like that both of our leading characters are smart and savvy, they are just on opposite ends of the law spectrum. And I agree with Gamnan Term, even though he’s coming off to the others as a sullen, bitter old man, but he is right with the fact that the townspeople are silly and stupid. They prefer to go after Reurng, who is a little kid then to go after the big guns who are actually harming society. And I’m glad that our smart Khun Palat is starting to take note of it. Perhaps that is why he wants to befriend Dao Reurng, and perhaps that is why he wants to start with her family. Only through her cooperation will he successfully develop an entire town.

I am also amused by Preuk and Rose- even if they prescribe to typical lakorn female indignations- I still love Preuk!

But what I like most is the introduction to the big wig. I am disinclined to believe that one young woman could wreak so much havoc to the village. And for the village to truly progress to the next level and develop, they need real consequences. So by introducing the real baddie in Sia Gampon, we have upped the ante and the conflict, perhaps even bringing out two leading lawmaker/breaker to team up against a common cause.

We’ll have to wait and see if there will be more than a good laugh!
