Sapai Glai Peun Tiang is a romantic comedy starring Chakrit and Anne. There is something to be said for placing two professional actor and actress together for the first time: for one they put on great acting but most importantly, they have great chemistry! It is as if they have filmed a prior lakorn together.
Without giving the entire storyline away, “Sapai Glai Peun Tiang” is about Lalin, a feisty cop who decides to take matters into her own hands when she finds out her sister is pregnant with a mystery man. After discovering that the family will not accept her sister, she decides to marry the younger son Jormtup so she can convince or force the family to accept her sister.
Although the storyline is a bit ridiculous and flawed, we see the “marriage in name” unfolds between Lalin and Jormtup. We know that Jormtup is challenged by Lalin and he is determined to make her fall in love with him. And we also see that Lalin believes that she will exit the marriage unscathed. There are many subplots to this lakorn, but the main conflict arises on the feelings that are developed between the two main characters, how they fall in love and the battle between Lalin and her mother in law. Will their marriage survive? Will Jormpon finally take responsibility for his actions?
I enjoyed this lakorn: I thought it was very funny. I especially felt for Chakrit’s character, he loved Lalin and was constantly getting his heart broken. Lalin’s character was very irrational and contradictory to being a law enforcer. She doesn’t admit to her feelings and her approach to solving problems is to attack first and ask questions later. Anne does a great job portraying Lalin but I still felt that she was extremely lucky to have a determined and forgiving husband like Jormtup!

I totally enjoyed this one as well. You are bang on about the chemisty between Anne and Chakrit. I would love to see them star in another lakorn or movie or just about anything. I felt Chakrit’s restrained acting had an edge over Anne in this one. To me it felt like Anne went over board at times. I loved Sriyuda’s character especially her not so well thought out plans to seduce Lek. Makes me want to go back and watch portions of it now. Jormtup was a sweet husband in spite of being such a mama’s boy. If the goal of this Lakorn was to entertain, this one entertained me well. 🙂
I enjoyed this lakorn as well, I agree with Astra, totally entertaining and also concur with Fia…the storyline was quite ridiculously dumb! But lakorns like this only goes to prove that regardless of an absurd storyline/plot & or poor directed lakorn …with professional actors such as Anne Thongprasom & Chakrit Yamnam, Ken Theeradet, you can always count on them to still make it entertaining and enjoyable to watch. I loved Anne & Chakrit’s chemistry as well… I said it many times and I’ll say it again, Anne is my #1 fav Thai actress…she is simply the best in my book!! I still don’t get why she’s not the highest paid actress in Thailand right now….I mean she’s on a league of her own….it’s rare to find raw talent like her where chemistry is always present with any leading man she’s paired with….however, her & Ken will remain my favorite pairing/onscreen couple…..let me just say that as a foreigner, Thai language sounds really weird sometimes, (i’m sure it’s vice versa when foreigners hear my native lingo) but the point i wanted to make is whenever I watch a lakorn with Anne & Ken, Anne & Chakrit is no exception in this lakorn….something happens to me where sometimes it almost feels like I’m actually comprehending their dialogues even without eng subs, for some reason, listening to them speak Thai never sounds weird to my ears …..for me, THAT’S, how great and natural their acting abilities are!!! always believable, always so natural. I too would love to see a new fresh Chakrit & Anne, as well as Ken & Anne lakorn again very soon…..but please let it be one of those lakorns with an awesome plot, storyline, directing haha (sigh) This is my plea to the lakorn makers!! Thank you Fia for letting me ramble on here…..hey just wondering, do you think they ever get to read blogs such as yours and comments such as these…..I sure do hope so because I want them to know that they are loved and admired from around the globe even from non Thai fans.
