The romance is in full force in this episode. I find myself reluctant to part with this, perhaps by avoiding the conclusion, I can pretend it never truly ended, yes?
Episode 14 Recap
Aunt tells Khun Petch that Dujupsorn was never really comfortable with seeking revenge. However, she felt compelled to proceed because it was the sole condition her mother set to seek medical attention. Aunt clarifies that Dujupsorn’s true intention was always her mother’s recovery, not vengeance. Khun Petch inquires if Dujupsorn knew of her mother’s history, and Aunt confirms that upon learning the truth recently, Dujupsorn decided to halt her plans and resign from her job. He questions if she was upset by this, and Aunt acknowledges that while Dujupsorn was deeply affected, she never reveals her emotions openly. Hearing this distresses Khun Petch too. When Aunt questions Khun Petch’s feelings for Dujupsorn and he affirms his love, Aunt expresses relief but cautions him that the journey ahead is challenging. She explains that Dujupsorn rejected him not out of lack of love, but rather to spare him the weighty responsibility tied to her mother, a burden Dujupsorn takes seriously. The complexity of their situation is amplified by Khun Petch’s family background—the Juthathep family—being responsible for her mother’s current plight. Although Aunt describes their relationship as nearly impossible, Khun Petch seizes on the possibility and confidently addresses the challenge, asking for the phone number of Dujupsorn’s friend in Chiang Mai to make further arrangements.
Khun Petch rushes to see Lisa at the hospital, who had a fainting spell because she refused to eat. Khun Petch advises her to take care of her health and not jeopardize it for someone who doesn’t love her. Lisa promises that she will be her old self again. Khun Petch notices that his sister is holding Khun Chavit’s hand again and presumes they have reconciled. Chavit says he will never let go of her hand again.
The pair takes off on a task, giving Khun Petch and Lisa an opportunity to talk privately. Chavit inquires whether Ploy’s feelings towards Dujupsorn have changed, and Ploy acknowledges that her dislike has faded. She initially had reservations about her because she seemed indecisive about Khun Petch and Khun Poom. However, Ploy gained insight after witnessing an incident where Lisa lost control, leading her to sympathize with what Dujupsorn must endure constantly, which can’t be easy, considering she lacked support growing up. Chavit expresses joy upon realizing that Ploy comprehends Dujupsorn’s situation and mentions it would be wonderful if Dujupsorn could eventually be with Khun Petch. On the other hand, Ploy feels that this may prove challenging because Khun Petch is prepared to wed Lisa.
Lisa expresses her gratitude to Khun Petch for his support and protection following the incident. Khun Petch replies that it’s part of his duty, to which Lisa responds that marrying her is certainly not one of them. He lightheartedly suggests he’s being turned down again, prompting Lisa to question whether he’d seriously consider marriage if she accepted. Contemplating deeply, Khun Petch reflects on his father’s initial decision to marry Khun Ked (her mother), as it was something he found perplexing, but recognizes that beyond love, there are good intentions and goodwill, which can be equally as profound. Lisa admits that adult love is complex and believes Khun Petch would take great care of her, making her extremely fortunate. However, they acknowledge that with their understanding of love now, it is something one cannot control. She wants him to be with someone he truly loves. Lisa tells him not to sacrifice his happiness for her, urging him to find success in love and not to commit to a marriage when his heart belongs to another. Khun Petch admires Lisa’s resolve, comparing her strength to her dad’s and expressing that he is proud of her. Lisa then suggests that he should reconcile with her cousin and bring her back. Aw, that was beautiful. Khun Petch really is such a gentlemen.
Khun Petch is scheming with Tangmo behind the scenes. When he gets to Chiang Mai, he checks if Dujupsorn has any suspicions, but Tangmo assures him she managed to handle them thanks to Khun Petch’s guidance. Tangmo mentions Dujupsorn will soon realize JT is acquiring the building, and Khun Petch casually states it’s because she will become the owner, leading to Tangmo’s excitement.
We return to the poolside! Dujupsorn is taken aback when Khun Petch appears, teasing her about enjoying the spotlight in her swimwear (he is one to talk). She swiftly seeks cover behind a chair, questioning what brings him there. Khun Petch reveals that he’s present on business and presumed she would be at her father’s residence. Dujupsorn clarifies that her father’s house is currently rented out, so she’s leasing a condo from a friend of Tangmo’s father. Khun Petch discloses that he recently acquired the condo and intends to use it for staff training prior to developing new properties in Chiang Mai. To herself, Dujupsorn ponders whether their meeting is merely coincidental. Lol.

As Khun Petch emerges from the water, Dujupsorn fights the urge to gaze at his uncovered torso. She offers him congratulations, leaving him puzzled until she clarifies, referring to his upcoming nuptials with Lisa. LOL, girl that’s what’s on your mind?! Instead of voicing her thoughts about his apparent flirtation, she engages in their banter. With a gracious smile, Khun Petch retorts by inquiring about when it will be her turn to marry, jesting about her indecision between Khun Poom and Chavit. Dujupsorn half-seriously considers her choices: Khun Poom can look after her well, whereas Chavit has significant wealth. Agreeing that Chavit could be a suitable match, Khun Petch playfully suggests the prospect of Dujupsorn becoming his sister-in-law, eliciting an awkward glance from her. He then proposes they treat each other kindly going forward. Dujupsorn tactfully withdraws from the conversation, conceding his skill in debate. We’re back to the flirting era, guys!
Dujupsorn inquires with Tangmo whether she knew about Khun Petch’s presence in Chiang Mai. Tangmo acts unaware and insists it’s merely a coincidence. Dujupsorn probes if Tangmo has any involvement with the PR at the condo, but Tangmo claims her time is mostly spent at Raweewan. When Tangmo questions whether utilizing an old condo to understand the Chiang Mai market is a good approach, Dujupsorn agrees that it’s a sound investment given the complexities of the Chiang Mai market. She commends Khun Petch for his wise decision. Curious, Tangmo asks Dujupsorn if she likes the man, to which Dujupsorn confesses that she likes him sooo much, prompting Tangmo to ask why she hesitates. Dujupsorn explains that while Khun Petch might be understanding regarding her mother’s condition, her mother herself would not accept it.
But Khun Petch has a way to handle her mother. He receives intel from Aunt about ways to make it easier to get along with Princess Mom. Aunt says that Wilairampa enjoys the good life, so Khun Petch puts on his accommodating, charming hat on. Perhaps not even Wilairampa would stand a chance.
First, Princess Mom complains that it is too hot to be walking, and they need to buy a car. At that moment, Khun Petch arrives with his chariot, I mean car, and offers to give them a lift to the shopping mall since he has errands there. LOL. Disregarding Dujupsorn’s protest, he suggests she sit at the front, clarifying that he isn’t a driver. Mom appears content with the vehicle, and Khun Petch notes with satisfaction that Aunt’s idea might be effective; proposing that beauty and comfort could potentially soften Wilairampa’s desire for revenge and lead to a more amiable disposition.
Mom acknowledges that Dujupsorn deserves some form of compensation for losing her job, to which Dujupsorn points out she had resigned. Khun Petch mentions he’s quite famished and suggests they join him for a meal. At a luxurious restaurant, his choice seems to delight Princess Mom. Later, at the mall, Dujupsorn inquires about his kindness towards her and her mother, recalling previously he could scarcely look at her. Khun Petch explains his prior attitude was due to anger, which has since dissipated. Moreover, he notes they may become family soon, implying they should start getting along better. Golly this man, his smile is something else, and those cheekbones? He has them in spades. Dujupsorn, however, is visibly annoyed by the comment.

Khun Petch points out to Dujupsorn that she had stated her desire for her mother to find happiness, and now her mother indeed appears content. They observe a vendor who underestimated Mom’s ability to purchase jewelry, refusing to let her try on the items. However, when Khun Petch steps in, the vendor’s attitude changes immediately, becoming more welcoming. Khun Petch guides Mom to another seller, preferring not to deal with those discriminating against customers. He purchases a set of diamond earrings for Mom as compensation for Dujupsorn’s job and a matching necklace for his special someone. Heh.
Upon arriving at the condo, Dujupsorn questions why he’s doing so much, suspecting he thinks they’re poor and that money is the solution. Khun Petch jokes that she’s seen too many dramas; he wasn’t throwing money around, just offering a day out. She’s concerned her mom might expect more in the future, but he reassures her he can provide more if needed, noting this treatment would be the same with Chavit or Khun Poom. Ok, brat. Dujupsorn expresses frustration, insisting she does not view Khun Poom romantically. When questioned about Chavit, Dujupsorn points out that he is Khun Petch’s friend. Khun Petch, clearly pleased, challenges with a remark “so what if he’s a friend.” Dujupsorn counters, declaring that desiring his friend is unlikely since they have shared a kiss! Khun Petch, taken aback, touches his mouth in surprise, admitting that her mention of their kiss caught him off guard and made him blush. LOL. He’s adorable.

He concedes that if she does not approve of him purchasing gifts for her, an alternative would be for her to work with him on a one-month basis. Given her qualifications, she is well-suited to supervise training at this facility. He is willing to provide equivalent compensation and the arrangement would also allow her to tend to her mother full-time. She takes him up on the offer and as she gets re-introduced to the team, they all regret to learn that she would only be here for a month. Khun Petch is pleased to see her back where she belongs. Squee.
Khun Petch’s arrival in Chiang Mai was felt not only by Dujupsorn, but also by a local rival who was disgruntled that Khun Petch managed to secure a prime land. Such transactions are rare as landowners are selective about their buyers. Although Khun Wiboon presents a gift basket to Khun Petch as a friendly gesture, his insincerity is apparent.
The physician recommended by Khun Petch (who is his friend) cautions Khun Petch about encroaching on a rival’s turf. However, Khun Petch is more concerned with obtaining information regarding the doctor’s patient’s relative, acknowledging the doctor’s professional integrity. The physician probes whether Khun Petch truly has feelings for her, and receiving an affirmative reply, he advises that pursuing her will be challenging and demand great effort. Despite her trials, her resilience against depression signifies considerable strength.
Khun Wiboon has employed Khun Petch’s ex-employee, Kosol, to disrupt Khun Petch’s business operations. Dujupsorn became alert to the possibility that Khun Wiboon might be targeting Khun Petch, especially after getting information from Tangmo. She observed someone acting stealthily nearby; however, she couldn’t make out his identity. During the same evening, the individual, who was actually Kosol, attacked a male worker when he was exiting the workplace. Kosol then persuades Saruch to join him in Chiang Mai, as his adversary is present there, providing an opportunity for Saruch to exact revenge. But Khun Wiboon is just using these hired hands so that he doesn’t have to involve his men or bail them out of jail.
Khun Petch expresses to Khun Jak his suspicion that the ambush was orchestrated by his enemies. Khun Jak responds that this isn’t unexpected given that Khun Petch is encroaching on the territory of local competitors. Khun Petch insists he conducts his business ethically, while Khun Jak observes that Khun Petch may be the only one playing fair, as their rivals do not. Khun Jak inquires about his elder cousin’s return, while Khun Petch glances at Dujupsorn, their gazes locking momentarily. Ack.
Dujupsorn notices Khun Petch is troubled and he shares his multitude of problems with her, wondering if there’s a peaceful place she visits when distressed. She takes him to the lake, where they enjoy the calming effect of the water in silence. Khun Petch expresses that no matter how correctly he does things, there are always dissatisfied people. Dujupsorn points out that it’s normal—no one is seen as perfect by everyone. Khun Petch compliments her, saying she nearly is perfect in his eyes since their first encounter two years prior, admiring her determination and bravery. He reveals that he searched for her after their first meeting, only to find she had gone overseas for studies, so he waited for her return. Eventually, she reappeared, working for him, which seemed more than mere coincidence to him. Le swoon.

Seated by the river’s edge, he confesses that he’s never felt this way about anyone before. This is the first time he’s opened up to someone as he has with her. She looks at him, words failing her. He acknowledges his anger when she seemed interested in his cousin or best friend but emphasizes he couldn’t let go of her, and he doesn’t understand why. Dujupsorn attempts to respond, but Khun Petch reassures her that she must have her reasons. Although he despises dishonesty usually, he now recognizes that there can be exceptions. Overwhelmed with emotion, all she can offer is an apology for everything. The most painful aspect for him is the hearsay about her affections for him, which he struggles to believe without hearing it directly from her. He wonders if a day will come when she’ll declare her love for him. She feels unworthy of saying such words to him, but he gently holds her hand, assuring her there’s no rush to respond. If she trusts him enough, her confession of love would be sufficient, and he would handle the rest to unite them. He expresses his weariness with games; his only desire is to be with her. After requesting some time to think, Dujupsorn receives his promise of patience, for she is his nang fah (angel). I have ascended.

Khun Poom faces the anger of four monkeys demanding he admit his transgressions for interfering in the relationship of Khun Petch and Dujupsorn, resulting in Khun Petch’s journey to Chiang Mai. As much as Khun Poom insists on his helpful intent, they are skeptical, teasing him about the possibility that he made things worse, which seems to unsettle Khun Poom when he starts revealing the true reason behind Dujupsorn’s approach to Khun Petch. They contemplate involving their fathers in this matter, but Khun Chat cautions that there must be a significant reason why Khun Poom has kept the dads out of it, so any decision regarding them should be made with care. Meanwhile, Khun Jak expresses concern for Khun Petch’s well-being in Chiang Mai, given the local adversaries. Ultimately, the cousins agree that they should send assistance and designate Khun Poom to make his way there. That night Khun Poom has a bad dream/vision that something will happen to Dujupsorn and his cousin.
As Khun Jak had anticipated, Khun Wiboon is seen advising Saruch to take decisive action against Khun Petch the following day.
In the morning, Khun Petch leaves the necklace he bought for his special someone – Dujupsorn, hoping she’ll like it before he heads to work at the construction site. Upon seeing Saruch, Dujupsorn feels uneasy and quickly follows him.
Events unfold rapidly. Khun Poom speeds off to Chiang Mai, unable to contact his cousin. He enlists Tangmo for assistance. Meanwhile, Khun Petch recovers his phone from the car at the site and hears someone call out to him. It’s Saruch, with a gun pointed at him. A shot is fired, but Dujupsorn jumps in front of Khun Petch to take the bullet. She collapses into his chest, and as he envelops her in his arms in shock, time seems to decelerate. Another shot rings out, grazing his arm, yet the gravity of the situation doesn’t hit him until he notices her blood on his hands. He gently lowers her down as she reaches to touch his face while pondering his earlier question about confessing love. She whispers “I love you, Khun Petch,” before losing consciousness. Holding her tightly, Khun Petch is stricken with emotion. Just in time, Khun Poom arrives to capture Saruch. Ack!

Upon learning of the crisis, the four monkeys split up: Jak and Chat head to Chiang Mai for assistance while Saruj and Phu prepare to inform the elders if needed. Dujupsorn’s mother collapses after hearing about her daughter and receives medical attention. The cousins arrive, and it’s heartwarming to see them take charge, allowing Khun Petch to relax from his usual role as the family caretaker. They advise him to rest and promise to update him when Dujupsorn awakens.
He quickly phones Dad about recent events. Later, Khun Petch hurries to Dujupsorn who had only woken up momentarily, requested Khun Petch, then slept again. She’s in stable condition, comforting Khun Petch. Khun Chat advises his cousin to hold on to her, and Khun Petch promises not to ever let her go. He clasps her hand and kisses them gently. Oh, my heart.
The following morning, Wilairampa becomes agitated about her daughter’s whereabouts and demands Khun Petch reveal her location. She laments what kind of guy would let a woman take the bullet for him. Poor Khun Petch, who stands still, withstanding the barrage of hitting and accusations. The confrontation comes to a halt at the sound of Khun Chai Phee’s voice summoning her “Wilairampa”. That’s the moment Dujupsorn gradually regains consciousness.
Comments
It was such a gripping moment to pause at. It’s quite sad that Dujusorn feels she must prove her worth through sacrifice rather than just expressing her love. That riveting scene where he tenderly admits his feelings and promises to wait for her highlights what she’s endured, having always been the patient one, devoid of patience from others. Knowing that he returned, didn’t abandon hope, and awaits her—it’s no wonder she’s deeply moved. How will I move on? I’ll skip the conclusion! Ha, I suppose I can’t neglect to see how they’ll conclude the resolution of a promise spanning generations within two families and ultimately seek the redemptive finale. Furthermore, who would want to miss the culminating joy of our two lovebugs achieving their happily ever after? I am ready and seated.

I love the flex in this episode, pun intended. 😉 Like Khun Petch was flexing everything in his arsenal now that he’s winning Fah back (not that he lost her in the first place). Who the hell buys a building to have a “chance encounter’ with the love interest? Crazy rich Asira Jutathep. Damn.
One thing I appreciate in this lakorn is the N’ek and P’ek are always thinking they love the other and are just pushing away that love because of extraneous things. It could have been different if they had that whole convincing-myself-that-it’s-not-love trope. What’s ironic is that they are shown to have their first concept of love as love for family, but they end up having romantic love for the first time and then acknowledge it but push it aside again for love for family. I think that’s a concept that is from the days of old (oh man we’re old) and drastically different from the current gen z notion of self love and no longer getting shackled with family matters.
i totally understand you, P’Fia. I’ve been watching the show on loop for about 4 times now. Though I have been watching Kwanreuthai a lot too. I haven’t convinced anyone to watch it yet. I dunno if I’ll be able to convince you 😅 but as trivia, the first episode and first scene of Chatglao’s was the day after Fah and Petch’s kobori meet cute. I realized that only after watching Dujupsorn. In the first episode of Kwanreuthai, Chat appears in their usual family meeting and it was right after going on duty with the protests, etc. that’s when Petch comments that he wants to resign and go back to manage the family’s business. Though Chat’s storyline continues on to 1992, and Dujupsorn proceeds in 1994.

I almost died when the actor who played Khun Jak said in one of their interviews that the show was a period lakorn. Lmao, 1992 is considered a period drama now, that actually hurts.
They are raised by their gentlemen fathers to be honorable and put family first. I felt bad for Dhewaprom seconds gen ladies who had to suffer from their mother’s mistakes and miss out on a privilege upbringing. Kinda hurts when Khun Petch said she was an outsider and he needed to put his family first (when his sister saw her hugging Chavit). Ouch. Girlie didn’t even grow up with any fatherly or brotherly protection, just goes to show how much she has suffered. I was happy her identity was revealed.. but if Khun Petch suspected she’s Rampa’s daughter all along, I was hoping for a little bit more reveal on that. I would totally eat up Khun Petch being even more protective Golly, I’m way too invested in these lakorn characters. (Commenting from my mobile so forgive any typos!)
