TGIF everybody!
Earlier this week, Mr. A and I celebrated our 13th year anniversary. Well, technically 8 years, since Mr. A took his sweet time to propose. And my sister in law posed an interesting question, which is completely unrelated to us as a couple, but more of us as individual, human beings.
She asked, “if you won the lottery and money wasn’t an issue, what would you do?”
I’d like to pose this question to you. Tell me your dreams, and I’ll tell you mine. Perhaps you’re one of the lucky ones and are already living your dream.
And on another random note, who’s looking forward to Petch Tud Petch? Weir vs. Mik? I’m rooting more for the the two to get together than actually any central romance story. Ha. But then again, Mik just fans my bromance fever.

Winning the lottery and money wasn’t an issue? After paying for my own children’s schooling and medical care for my elderly mother – really, I’d give the rest to an organization that cares for orphans. Even though everything has not been all roses in my family, I was lucky enough to have both parents (until very recently) and all my siblings as well as education, housing and jobs. I’m okay with working. I”d rather give other kids a chance out there. On a side note – any kdrama or lakorn that is really hard on kids almost automatically goes to my “dislike” list. Even if a plot is totally fantastic, if there is a loving family (real or friends or even co-workers), it makes me happy!

Ok , I know you asking stuff but how can I concentrate with those pic on top , my husband and my lover kissing each other and in the same pic with cake , it like 3 of my most favorite thing in the whole world ( mentally slapping myself , focus girl )
Happy Anniversary !!! best wishes and hope for many more years to come , if I won the lottery ticket and money is not an issue , I would travel around the country I guess kind of a long road trip for the whole 50 states , I love my family and I know I got it made at home , mom cooking and my brother cleaning but once in a while I crave just being by myself , guess that the life of an Asian girl , not be able to move out till you married and it got nothing to do with money either , the expectation and responsibility just not the same compare to American culture that they just blissfully move out when they reach 18 , there was a time when I dream to be a 18 wheels truck driver just for the month long trip , the solitude and be able to go to new place ( and no , my gender did not stop me from pursuing that career as much as my driving did lol ) is there such a thing as someone being introvert and extrovert at the same time ? I mean when I go out with my friends I’m the light of the party , they say a good friend is someone who would come to bail you out of jail at 3 am in the morning but I’m the friend that would sit with you in that jail cell and say “damn , that was fun , let do it again” at the same time I would be fine if I don’t see or talk to anybody for days or weeks
Petch Tud Petch is on my list but according to the summary seem like Mik character would turn bad guy in there and after one upon a time I don’t know if I can take it

I think there is such a thing as being into/extroverted at the same time. But I think one is more inclined to be more of one or the other. Do you feel exhausted after being the life of the party or do you feel like everyone’s watching netflix but you want to hang out? You sound really outgoing though, and I’d love to spend a day just shooting the shit with you. Going a long road trip sounds fun!

A question: Are the guys in the photo dating? I don’t know why, but it seems like it, that kiss in the cheeks! or are they family? Is this common in Thailand (men kissing on the cheeks?)

They are not dating. I don’t think any country has a standard practice they adhere to in terms of whether it’s “normal” if a man kisses another man’s cheeks, and the same goes for Thailand. It’s a case by case basis and completely up to the individual- whether that individual is an affectionate person, whether he feels close to the other person.. or even whether they’re just horsing around, like most cases. It’s cute though and I love seeing that they’re comfortable and not threatened by their masculinity. Thanks for the comment 🙂

I understand, but there are many places that its standard to kiss, even up to 3 times on the cheeks, because shaking hands is kind of frowned upon (you don’t where the hands been, that’s what I’ve read), you know? That’s why I was asking.

Got it, so we’re talking about greeting each other? As you know, Thailand does the hand bow.. I guess I can’t presume to answer for my birth country when I don’t actually live there.

Hahahaha… My bad Fia, I don’t know how to express myself well, English is not my first language. I’m new to Thai dramas, as I get into new country dramas I tend to read upon the culture (so I could understand certain phrases, and mannerisms), but I haven’t gotten the chance to read anything on Thai culture. So, that’s why I asked. I apologize if I confused you! 🙂

just want to put in my 2 cents , yeah it not gay or anything like that , funny thing is in Asia’s culture , at least in my country when we going out as a group , girl would hold girl hand and boy would hold boy hand ( some even put their hand on the other shoulder ) I’m in America too long that I almost forgot that till I watch a documentary about New Year in my country looking at everybody go to the temple together ( I guess when we come here we were told not to do that cause it look gay so we stop , but if you look at the variety’s show from Korea , all the idol group would hold on to each other in public ) there just something innocent and cute in that gesture ( may be I’m the only one who think that ) like holding on to your friends for courage when talking to the opposite sex , the big shocker would be when a guy hold a girl hand ( in public ? no way , they so bold lol ) I remember in Padiwaradda when the sergeant explain to the head of the village that they just married barely a week so they still haven’t ……………….. you know ( only in Asia’s drama that would make sense ) or when Fahsai’s dad ask her “did he kiss your cheek yet ?” the cheek ??? really dad ? guess the talk of bird and bee go something like this “we hold hand and look deeply into each other eyes and found you under the jackfruit tree” but again , I’m not one to talk since till the age of 18 my mom still make me look away when there a kissing scene come on the screen , I want to tell her how much kissing can a drama have when I see live action every day at school and nobody ask me to look away ( it would be weird if I do that ) ah Asian parent , got to love them , if my mom ever ask I can honestly answer her that “no , mom nobody kiss me on the cheek , glad to know you think I’m dating a 6 years old”

If I won the lottery I would put the money into good used. I have so many people to support. 1. I would give one or two millions to each of my six siblings so they don’t have to worry about money anymore. My parents passed away and just only us left. I still have three unmarried siblings. 2. I would give some of the money to support my uncles and aunties and grandparents, my husband relatives who still live in Southeast Asia. They are struggling to get by everyday. We are supporting them now too, but not enough to make their life better. 3. I would buy a nice house with acreage of land so I can raise my own domestic animals, so I can get my own organic eggs. Also buy a house somewhere in a beach area and a cabin for vacation homes. 4. I would buy some investment properties so I would continue to generate income for life. 5. I would set-up a college scholarship fund in the name of my late father-in-law because my husband always wanted to do that to honor his father. 6. I would take my family of four along with my six siblings to travel around the world once. I would continue working as contractor so I can take time off during winter months and go live and travel around Southeast Asia.

The more money we have, the more responsibility, right? I think it’s wonderful that you’re already trying to support as many people as you can, paying it forward. I hope that after you giveaway all of that money and travel SE Asia, you find time to just unwind and have a very expensive bottle of wine. Cheers!

I’ll share my winning with all my families first. Then I will buy myself a nice little house with every comfort imaginable and retired from work. I can’t imagine being idle (been working since 15) so I will volunteer. And travel ever so often to interesting places. Maybe to see all the wonders of the world.

About your question though, my answer is simple. If money wasn’t an issue for me then I would have no issue donating that money towards good causes. Why be greedy when you can do so much good for the world with the excess money that you don’t even need? That is all. Hope you have a nice weekend! 🙂

ALRIGHT. Is it my turn? My child is asleep and probably dreaming of his adventures today at the family fun center. So I get to relax and respond to your dreams and wishes if you won the lottery and if money wasn’t an issue.
It sounds like ensuring you and your family is well set for life is first and foremost on our agenda. Some of you want to donate the rest to charity, whether that’s for children or some sort of meaningful foundation. These are all great and excellent causes.
I’m going to backtrack to my conversation with my sister in law that day. She said that if she won the lottery, she would be working with animals. She has two shitzus that she loves more than anything, but beyond that, she just has a soft spot for animals. I told her that I was surprised she didn’t become a vet. She even said she was surprised too. But she’s doing such meaningful work right now that the world need someone like her in the workforce.
As for me, if money wasn’t an issue, what would I do? I told my sister in law that I would first ensure that my family and friends are set as well. Then, I would retire early and open a firm that empower woman in the workforce: whether that is here in the States or the much needed resources in Asia. Because with money, a lot of abused or struggling woman can become their own bread and butter and overcome poverty or become independent. Mr. A and I have done significant amount of travels in our marriage together, and it has given me the opportunity to dream of a better world with women as equal partners. Obviously my contribution (lottery winnings) won’t change the world, but it will make a difference in some people’s lives.

Lottery question: More money more problems. It’s always good to have an emergency backup even though you may think you don’t need it. Everything is so expensive right now but first, I’d like to treat my family to a nice long dream vacation because they all deserve a vacation. I know I cannot make world peace happen, stop human trafficking, and take care of orphaned children but I would use that extra money toward more education and awareness. The more we hear about it, the more we know about it, the more we can do something about it. And then the rest goes to charities for children.
