It’s not you, it’s me.
I am going to say it, Plerng Naree, and Tik-Mai combo, just isn’t doing it for me. The premier episode felt slow, languid, dazed and uninspiring. Some glaring issues for me lies in three areas: (1) the directing, which creates such a boring world; (2) the writing and characters; and (3) the actors, which may have to do with the characters they portray, and then, maybe not.
Tik plays Theepop who retires from the police force due to his father’s health and filial duties. He is tasked with learning the jewelry business and helping an old family friend’s struggling business. So he travels abroad to Saijeet where he learns the jewelry business and meets a pretty face at the park. He reunites with her back in Thailand at the company they both work for – but she denies ever stepping foot in Saijeet. Well, that is because she’s Princess Pririsa of Saijeet and is on a mission to seek revenge for her mother who developed severe disability from the abuse of her father’s family members. She’s going rogue on this one, incognito by pretending to be a common person applying for a secretary position at the company. We’ve no clue as to how she will seek justice. Will she make their life miserable? Ruin their business? Make them pee in their pants? WHATYOUGONNADO Princess?
Tik looks so dazed in this whole episode, like he’s just staring at his costars and reading his lines. Someone give him some caffeine, please. I don’t know what I’ve been drinking, but it’s giving me some sort of immunity against Tik’s charms. Gasp, such blasphemy. I can’t even say that he looks great in this show, perhaps he needs more makeup? As for Mai, there’s something about her acting that I couldn’t quite put my finger on while watching the first episode, but I’ve realized now what it is. She’s always “ON.” Meaning, I feel like she’s acting all the time, Princess Pririsa or Risa (as the common girl) doesn’t feel natural. There are some characters that you watch and you feel like they’re real and you want to get to know them, but when Risa comes on screen, I know I’m watching a lakorn. Having said that, I actually quite liked the Crown Prince and the bestie girlfriend, they make their characters come to life.
Perhaps if one of the areas in the directing, the story, and the acting is actually stellar, I may be hooked from the first episode and be inclined to stick around to find out. But everything in this pilot episode feels slowly paced, dull characterization, and actors who look half awake. Perhaps some of you quite enjoyed it. This is clearly the case of, it’s not you it’s ME.

Happy Friday. This week went pretty darn fast. Lol !!!
Well, I just have to say that I really like Tik and I want to continue to watching his lakorn but I have been noticing that his acting is always the same. The way he talks and everthing. And when I did saw the trailer for this lakorn, I have to say… I was not feeling it as well. =(
So, it’s not just you, its me as well.

plus one here , don’t worry Fia we know what you saying , there are certain actor/actress that their acting is fine not bad or horrible but we never kind of forget that it just acting in a drama and that’s it , I think half the writing , half the directing and half the acting ( too many half I know ) fault that we just don’t see them breath life into the character , and this got nothing to do with main lead or anything , lot of lakorn even the supporting actors make it so relatable and the acting is so natural that I really see them in real life ( Rock and Cookie in Sai Lap Rak Puan currently rocking it ) oh well another one to skip , anybody know when Princess Hour the Thai version would come out ? No release date for Princess Hours Thailand yet, I think they might still be in filming status. Should be soon though!

The trailer didn’t draw me in. I haven’t watch any of Mai’s lakorn. Maybe it is Tik. I feel like no acting is involve at all. Like he stop trying. It is as if they found two good looking individual and plop them into a lakorn together. Maybe I will catch this lakorn when it is in the middle.

I didn’t even finish episode 1 – fell asleep. Maybe because I watched it around midnight and needed to go to bed for work. lol I’ll have to finish the whole episode. I like Mai in her Ch5 and Ch7 lakorns. Will see how I feel after the first episode.

I’m not really a night owl either, so sometimes when I have to finish up recaps by burning the midnight oil, it turns into gibberish.

I was really excited for Tik & Mai pairing up! Sadly episode 1 was not that great. I felt like Mai always had a blank expression on her face and she barely talked. I felt all of the side characters even the rai’s were doing better! Tik’s makeup in ep 1 was horrible to me. However, I did watch episode 2 today and it is a lot better!! Lol. Mai’s acting was a lot better in ep 2 and Tik looked a lot better. I will actually tune in for the rest of the lakorn.

I must agree that this lakorn is indeed very slow and the last episode nearly put me to sleep. Tik has no expression the entire lakorn makes me wonder how he can be a main actor. In fact the suppporting actor is more natural than him. The storyline is unrealistic. I still wonder why I bother watching this lakorn though.

This is exactly what I felt . I was a huge Tik fan during Prissana , Roy Leh Sanae Rai , Fun Fheung , Leurd Kattiya days . Those days were his peak in terms of acting and looks . What the hell has happened to him since then ? He just can’t act anymore and I haven’t seen him doing a decent acting scene since Kaew Tah Pee . Even Wanida was more decent acting than this. As for Mai , she shows too much attitude to her enemies ,her eyes stare at them drawing too much attention to herself and screaming loud and clear that she has a hidden agenda against them . If she was a really intelligent princess, she would have laid low and tried to not seek that much attention . But no ..she has to give killer stares and talk back as if its her company where she is working .
