Are you busy watching another pairing? Perhaps Markim team? My favorite pairing is too busy doing commercials, endorsing products- to get busy with their show. Sigh. But this p’sao will wait and in the meantime, smile at their many pretty couple pictures.
What are you doing this weekend? Has Fall finally settled its roots in your town? Or you live in one of those perpetually sunny cities? (To which, I say, jealous!) Whatever the case may be, happy weekend!

Happy weekend Fia! My weekend is over, back to work tomorrow! Huhu. It’s fine, marathoned dja in the last 2 days, I’m a yadech fan waiting sooo patiently for rftd. So far im also enjoying trrr with markim, i find the script fresh/honest maybe because kob sounds a lot like real life mark prin or how i imagine him to be. Thanks for all you do for the fandom, esp intl fans. Cross fingers, will you be re-capping rftd? I’m enjoying dkd too. Talking about the weather, boo this blasted heat is lingering on – i’m from the deserts of the middle east where it’s summer most of the time! Sigh, what would i give for a bit of rain?!!
Hi Angela- I’m so behind on trrr. I do love Mark as Kob, like Saengklah in Neur Mek 2, he’s playing himself. Oof, recap rftd? Can’t commit yet, it all depends on when it will air and what I’ll have going on at that time. But hang in there, I’ll either recap it or let you know who’s recapping/subbing. Stay cool in the blistering heat!
Hi Fia~ Hope your having a lovely weekend!
The only thai lakorn I’m watching currently is TRRR (MK have the best chemistry together) and reading your awesome recaps for DKD.
Also I’ve been sucked into ancient chinese series lately. I never thought they could be sooooooo GOOD!
I’ve in the middle of watching 4 right now – Bu Bu Jing Xin, Gong, Lan Ling Wang, Eternity: A Chinese Ghost Story. I alternate between them because the plot line can really get on ones nerves!
Impressive, Belle, 4 dramas? I swear I’m going to catch up with trrr.. heeh. Marathoning is not a bad idea…
Which Chinese drama is the best Belle?
@Fia LMAO I’m notoriously known for picking up dramas and never finish watching it XD
@Jamie
Honestly I got into ancient chinese dramas 2 weeks ago and I have only finished one, Fairy from Wonderland.
Don’t really expect a happy ending from any wuxia (the actual term for the genre of dramas I’m watching) dramas because they usually go on the more depressive path. However, there is always hope for a HEA and with beautiful costumes and settings combined with engaging plot lines – really enjoyable for one to watch.
I recommend:
Bu Bu Jing Xin – Modern girl travels back in time to the Qing Dynasty and becomes embroiled with the internal conflict between the Princes (especially the 4th & 8th Prince) for the throne.
Gong- Same concept as BBJX with the whole modern girl goes back in time to Qing Dynasty and involved in the Princes fight for the throne. It’s like a ancient chinese rendition of Boys Over Flowers. I freaking love the 8th Prince and his interaction with the lead girl, it’s too hilarious!
Fairy from Wonderland – Immortal Princess of the Celestial Court falls in love with a mortal man. It’s SOOO good! I loved the mains and the lead guy is beyond amazing.
Legend of the Conan Heroes – “When their husbands were killed by the Song army, two pregnant women found safe haven in foreign lands. Li Ping gave birth to Guo Jing, a sturdy but blockheaded young man who roamed the Mongolian prairie with the family of Temujin. Bao Xi Ruo gave birth to Yang Kang, a smart and crafty young man who became the son of Wanyan Hong Lie, a successor of the Jin empire. When a pact between their martial arts masters brought them together and the truth behind their fathers’ deaths was revealed, one found martial arts enlightenment and a cause greater than his own while the other descended into darkness and destroyed everything and everyone around him.” (Dramawiki)
I’m currently watching it and I love the leads. If you like kick ass spunky heroine, you definitely need to check this out. I love it when my leading lady dominates her man XD
Lan Ling Wang – “A prophecy foretold that victory goes to the one who has the priestess’ blessing. Yang Xue Wu, the last priestess of her clan, unwittingly embroiled in a war between Northern Qi and Northern Zhou. Although she foresees a tragic fate for Lan Ling Wang, the military general of Northern Qi, she nonetheless falls in love with him and helps him win the war against Yuwen Yong, the Emperor of Northern Zhou. However, her action only brings him closer to his fate. As his standing among his people grows, so does the murderous jealousy in Crown prince’s heart. Can she protect him when it’s family who wants him dead?” (Dramawiki)
I’m also currently watching this and its the newest drama out of this list. I’m really enjoying the story and the characters (especially the mains). I love how they first met *spoiler alert* He was bathing in this hot spring and she saw him. Though she thought he was a girl because he looked so beautiful from the back, so she jumps into the water and asking him a gazillion questions. The poor guy didn’t know what to do.
I hope you check out at least one drama from this list. ^^
I’ve watched Gong, and some of BBJX. Now I’ll have to put the other ones on my list. Thanks Belle!
Hello. Thank you for your awesome recaps. I am watching too many dramas and lakorn right now..I kind of scared myself. =D I love love Mark as Kob. More masculine than a pretty boy which I like. Kim is gorgeous. Luckily for me I am just on episode one so I get to watch many episodes so I don’t die of eagerness. I can’t wait for the new episode of Dao Kiaw Duen..
Again thank you for working so hard in bringing us readers wonderful summaries to read. <3
I am watching Janie and Ken old period lakorn Neung Nai Saung and I miss these days when I found the former charming and cute and appealing… Sigh
I am talking about the old Janie -charming, cute and appealing-
Hi P’Fia, we are going to celebrate the mid Autumn festival in a couple of days, but it’s still scorching hot here, just like summer haha. Anyways, for the passed few weeks, everyday is Wednesday and Thursday for me :D. I’m loving my Wed and Thurs so much because of DKD and a k-drama that i’m currently watching, The Master’s Sun. And thank God that the subber teams of these series are very efficient, oh and your DKD reviews as well. I’ve decided not to watch TRRR at the moment. I love MK too much, that i’ve decided to wait for the lakorn to end and fully sub so that i’ll be able to marathon the lakorn later. I’m having a hard time waiting for DKD and Master’s sun each week, feel like going nuts haha. So, i refuse to wait for Friday and the w’end as well haha. P’Fia, please add The Master’s Sun in your kdrama to watch list, pretty please. Would love to read your review regarding the drama. It’s written by Hong Sisters, who had written many award winning kdramas. It’s a really funny and sweet romcom 😀 … Have a great week ahead, sis!
Hi belle- I have two belle’s to keep track of, the only way I can differentiate is by your email addresses. Hopefully everyone else can tell by the difference in tone? Heh. Master’s Sun, eh? I will keep it on my Kdrama list and will watch when I have slow lakorn days, which to say, may be awhile because I’m soo behind on a lot of the lakorns that I wish I had time to watch! Thanks for the rec though!
I’ve been watching Master’s Sun as well. Sometimes I like it more, sometimes not so much. Because it uses a ghost of the week format, it really depends on the story it tells to me. I’ve loved some of the ghost stories, and thought others were lame (the father suspected of having an affair).
The interactions between the lead couple is the best. Haven’t started either DKD or TRRR, but I hope to watch TRRR at least.
55555, ok P’Fia, i’ve changed my username :D. Hi Jamie, glad to know there’s other TMS viewer here too. I’m really enjoying the drama. Agree with you that the lead couple has great chemistry. Maybe it’s also due to the fact that i’ve been a fan of So Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin for many years :D. I find the scripts are well written and some are really drop dead funny. Nway, hope you’ll enjoy the rest of the show :D.
hai fia..hope you are doin great there.. im not hooked on any lakorn yet.. but DKD is starting to interest me..Aum and Janie are both so BEAUTIFUL…how could they be so beautiful?? I have trouble watching DKD on viki so thank you for your recaps!! Looking forward to Madam dun and The Rising Sun series..
Hi Fia, I had a great weekend. My cousin was in town and we went shopping and eating and sightseeing though it was raining a bit. Here in my part of the world, it’s either sunny or rainy, that’s it! Currently I’m watching only Dao Kiaw Duen. mainly to feast my eyes on Khun Chai Jan and Dao. But Pongjan and Ying Nim couple is getting my attention now too. I’ve dropped Ton Rak Rim Rua since episode 5 so my weekends are free with no commitments! II’m also watching Korean drama Faith starring Lee Min Ho but in a snail pace and occasional movies on cable.
Life is good! 😀
Love,
Kool
