It’s almost mid August- where has the summer gone? The ‘dog days of summer’ certainly doesn’t pertain. What are you guys up to? Have vacationed to? Planning on going? And most importantly, what lakorns are you watching or spazzing over?
It seems this August, there’s not a lot of lakorns to get too excited about, or bent out of shape for. I’m watching Kaen Saneha and Nang Rai Sai Lub, with a whole lot of fast forwarding. Certainly makes the watching go by faster, but leaves me wondering, what next? It appears that (at least for me anyway) after the Gentlemen Series ended, I’m left adrift, wondering which shore to swim to. Which is totally appropriate, since I’m going to be swimming in San Diego beach this weekend. Hopefully, I’m not literally adrift..
I don’t currently have a topic to cover and will be on vacation for a couple of weeks. I am open to recap requests, feedback or just plain co-venting if you’d rather. (If I decide to pick up any recaps, it would be published on 8/25.) So I’m listening, (as well as my vocal and silent readers), so vent away..

I’m watching Poo Dee E-sarn and so spazzing over Mai Warit. Omgosh..the cameras love his face. Can’t seem to get enough. Have you seen it? And I’m really enjoying Nang Rai Sai Lup and is now a great fan of Margie. She is just plain fun to watch and her Pra’eg is so handsome (as long as he doesn’t smile too wide…) I enjoy reading your summaries and thoughts and such and so keep up the awesome job. Have a great summer off and enjoy San Diego. I’m going to India in September to visit the holy shrines of the Himalayas foothills and so very excited about it. But will definitely miss watching lakorns while I’m away. maybe I’ll return to a new and awesome romantic comedy waiting in October. joy joy joy

loving sood sai pan and loving pimberly ann to death for subbing this. also started watching hua jai reua puang ft pang and son, and maya see mook (originally thought miin and weir would be starrin in this). how about recapping fah jarod sai. i have yet to see a kwan lakorn and it’s currently on air. so far their only eng sub teasers. what i’m really looking forward to is tik and anne’s lakorn, weir and min’s lakorn and janie and aum’s lakorn. i should be back from virginia beach by the time there’ll be new posts on this site and that will be the highlight of my august

Having been away from lakorns for years, I just recently got back into watching them. However, the ones I picked up, I could not find myself interested enough to finish them. I must admit I am pretty picky with my dramas/lakorns. The pranangs have to be someone I like, and I guess you can say I favor the veterans like Anne T, Ken T, Aum A., and others.
I am currently watching “Sud Sai Pan” with N’Vill and N’Toomtam. For a newbie, Toomtam is doing a good job. I was never a real fan of Exact lakorns but this one is alright.
I join you, Fia, in your feelings towards the Gentlemen Series. I am currently watching “Khun Chai Pawornruj”, having just finished “Khun Chai Tharatorn” and starting out with “Khun Chai Ronnapee” (yes, I watched Pee and Piengkwan first, lol). Chai Pee cemented James Ma and Mint Chalida in my heart. To me, they will forever be “Chai Pee and Piengkwan”. I have to say I am loving Chai Ruj and Rasa too. Though I still have Chai Pat and Chai Lek’s stories to see, I am not looking forward to the end of the entire series. I guess I’ll just have to repeat the whole series again, haha!

Hi! I’m watching sod sai pan which I’m very impressed with vill and toomtam’s acting! I’m also watching NRSL. Peter is sooooooooo hot! I love love love love his voice! I’m watching it for him really, I’m not too much of a Margie fan. I’m also watching Maya see Mook. I’m so happy Kuda is subbing it! Summer went by too fast although Autumn is my favorite season so I’m looking forward to it. I love wearing sweaters and boots! Have a great time in SD. I love the west coast! It’s so pretty!!!!! It’s not summer here Fia, it’s actually winter *shivers* and Australian winters are usually hot but it was unusually cold this year.
I really wished you recapped Tawi Pob (1994) It is absolutely a beautiful lakorn and I can only understand bits and pieces of it. T____T

Summer break is almost over for me. I only have this week and next week left then I’m off to school. I didn’t do anything at all this summer. I’m quite disappointed. I’m also disappointed that no good lakorns were out at all during this summer break. The ones I watched were okay,good. I think the only ones I really,really enjoyed and was really into was Khun Chai Ratchanon and Mon Jantra. I liked and enjoyed Dao Ruang because it was funny but nothing else. Right now I am only watching Nang Rai Sai Lub. I’m waiting for Mark-Kim Ton Rak Rim Rua to air after. 😀 Which sadly it will air when I start school and not in the summer but it’s okay. I noticed that the good lakorns always air when I’m busy with school. 😦 Lol.

Hey you guuys! Thanks for the feedback, requests and updates on your life 🙂 I love reading them, but just finally got a chance to reply to everyone.
In response to why I’m not picking up the following lakorns:
-Kaen Saneha- Darkness Lakorns is screencapping this. Therefore there is no need, unless the lakorn inspires me to, which it is not at this time. (To Ne: I don’t think it’s being subbed anywhere, not yet anyway.)
-Nang Rai Sai Lub is being English subbed at a very fast pace by Kudalakorn, but the storyline itself hasn’t compelled me to want to recap the whole lakorn- I honestly don’t really care for any of the other characters in exception to our main two, which is a sad thing, really.
-Kularp Fai- unfortunately is not being subbed (from what I know.. if you find out differently, please share with the readers here.) I’m trying to come up with reasons I don’t want to recap this series.. although the pairing is hot, an action drama girl I’m not.
In regards to the current lakorns you’re watching, spazzing over:
-Sud Sai Pan- why, why am I not watching this? I loved Toomtam from Pan Rak Pan Rai with Charebelle, and he was a dedicated, somewhat emotionally driven pr’ek, but he fell in love with the right girl, so it’s easy to root for a hero like that. Maybe I’ll be in the mood for a bipolar pr’ek down the road, but just not right now.
-Poo Dee E’sarn- an evening drama, is it not? I haven’t seen one of those for awhile now, I don’t even know who Mai Warit is! (Oof!)
-I’m not currently watching any Korean dramas as of late, but always open to recommendations of really really good ones. (Ala City Hunter, Secret Garden, Prosecutor Princess… I feel like I totally lucked out with those choices.)
Potential recapping projects:
-I’ll put out a poll for upcoming lakorns! Then we can vote, who doesn’t like that?
And finally, whether you’re going back to school (-A), vacationing to the Himalayas (Poowan– so jealous! Have a blast!), working your assess off (the real world sucks), freezing in Australia (Belle-sending warm thoughts your way, and is it cold like tshirt weather cold? :P) or looking forward to fall (Reathanak-I’m still going to pack my sunblock and deny deny deny deny that Summer is over soon..) vacationing in Virginia Beach (-Lidy) or even just getting back to watching lakorns after a long time away (Rubyred– and when it comes to lakorns, we can’t ever stay away forever, can we?) I thank you for your continued support, and let’s pick out a lakorn together- where we can bring the spasm(s), fangirling and speculations to lakorns (and my life) again. AND if it turns out that it sucks, at least we can pull our hairs out together, no?

Hi! I feel like you should definitely give the korean dramas: Bridal Mask, Spy Myung Wol, My Girl, and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho a shot. (: I personally enjoy all those lakorns and that ones you’ve listed except I haven’t quite seen Prosecutor Princess yet.
-Bridal Mask (It reminds me of a City Hunter yet the period is different. I really love it due to the pace and it’s always keeping me hooked. The music is also great.)
-Spy Myung Wol (I really enjoyed the idea of the main girl trying to make the main guy fall in love with her. And the whole spy thing really got to me.)
-My Girl (It’s a really cute drama and one I can watch over and over. The main leads are good looking.)
-My Girlfriend is a Gumiho (I laughed so many times during this drama. It’s definitely a great drama to make the heart happy xD )
As much as I love my Thai lakorns, Korean dramas are pretty great, too 😀 They’re not so dramatic as Thai lakorns but they are my cup of tea. Also, have you ever gave Taiwanese dramas a try? (:

@Iamtxiasthao Thanks for the recs! I occasionally venture out into Kdramaland, but lakorns are my bread and butter and I try not to steer too far and long, since lakorn blogs aren’t as prevalent as- let’s say- kdrama blogs. I will check out some of your recs during the slow time or when I feel the need to supplement my drama watching with a little bit of Korean 🙂 Oh, and I’ve never really seen a Taiwanese drama before either..
@lidy– ah sorry na ka, just pick your #1 choice and I may pick up more than one depending on their scheduled air dates (whether they’ll conflict or not). All of these lakorns are definitely ones I will check out thoroughly either way. So I don’t mind picking up the top three- who knows, we’ll see!

Thai lakorns I’m watching:
– Kaen Sanaeha: First lakorn ever where I don’t really care about the pranangs relationship development but more about the different characters and how they begin to change with time and the moral teachings they bring. Maybe that’s why I’m able to enjoy this one a lot, and when there IS an actual development between the pranangs I get even more happy ❤
– Nangrai Sailab: I have to catch up here since I'm still at episode 2, but it's good so far.
– Fah Jarod Sai: channel7 lakorn but actually good o.0 – no really, this one might even turn out as one of my favourites of the year if the quality stays as good as in the first 2 episodes!!!
Korean dramas:
– Good Doctor: I've really enjoyed both the lead actor and actress' previous dramas and this one seems to be just as good. I'm not very familiar with autism but the main guy is really convincing in his role.
– The Master's sun: Main girl is kinda out of it, but that's understandable since she can see ghosts and they're creepy. The actress still manages to make the character adorable and the chemistry between the leads is there.
Japanese dramas:
– Summer Nude: Yamapi
These are the dramas I'm watching. hmm, seems like a lot…

P’Fia you MUST watch “Hormones the Series”. Currently Thailand’s “Talk of the Town”. Find out what all the craze is about. Produced by the successful GTH studio, you know you won’t be disappointed. Shot like a movie with 10 main leads. The stories are intriguing and the characters have depths, quite different from our typical lakorns. This series set the stage for a new direction for future series. I’m currently on episode 8 and am hooked. It does have subtitles on YT but I see that this series lack international fans and international exposure because it isn’t the typical lakorn. I’m not requesting that you do caps but if you do make time to watch it, share your thoughts on the blog for other readers. This series deserve more exposure and fans do not want to miss this one.

Hi Kashie, I have been told about this series from another reader as well, but for whatever reason cannot get my act together. Soon though, I promise to check it out, maybe even after my holiday. I have read on a Thai newspaper article that indeed it is an atypical series (I wouldn’t even compare it to a lakorn, since that’s not it’s intention), moreso the paid cable series want to invoke a true and realistic depiction of Thai teens and the problems that they face, be it sex, drugs etc. I even heard it has several million hits on youtube, so you’re right, if anything, Hormones certainly has its appeal to many. Once I check it out, I’ll be sure to share my thoughts and commentaries here. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment and glad to hear that you’re hooked on the series!

As for me Summer is the thing of the past. Now I’m back at work five days a week!
Right now I’m watching Sood Sai Pan (channel 5) only. I watch Kaen Sanaeha (Channel 3 ) on and off but the plot and the casts don’t appeal to me. My friends are all raving about this lakorn and think I’m crazy for not watching it seriously. But I am going to watch the last episodes next week cos I want to know how it’s going to end at least.Oh well, that’s me. 😀
Like you said, after Khun Chai series I’m a driftwood too. Can’t seem to watch any other lakorns showing on Channel 3 currently. Made a mistake of watching Wan Nee Tee Ror Koy (channel 7) mainly because of Om Akapan, but after too many nail bitings, wall climbing, hair pulling, I stopped watching after episode 12. I hate bashing Channel 7, but they ask for it. Their lakorns really suck after 10 or 11 episodes. They have the worst lakorn endings of all times and they drag on and on and on.! Like Pin Anong, Ubathehet, Bundai Dok Ruk, Tawan Tor Saeng, to name a few. I watch them mainly because of the pra ek and nang ek pairing: Om and Aum, Om and Mint Pechaya, Weir and Mint Pechaya, Dome and Davika. They have great chemistry together but sadly the plot doesn’t help them.
Channel 3 also has its share of lousy endings and clumsy plots. I was so disappointed with Khun Samee Kamalor Tee Rak. Rome and Chompoo were great together but the plot sucks big time and I had to drop it after a few episodes. The same goes for Mia Taeng and Rang Pratana though Nadech and Kimberly look so great together, especially Nadech!
Ok, now the list of great lakorns I’ve watched and liked in random order:
Game Rai Game Rak ( Nadech and Yaya at their best )
Sao Chai Hi-tech ( Love Om and Jui…great pairing but not so great plot )
Pon Prom Onlaweng, ( Love Boy Pakorn, Bella and Unda )
All five Khun Chai Series ( Love Chai Ruj and Chai Phee the best )
4 Hua Jai Haeng Khun Khao (4 Hearts of the Mountain) ( Love Nadech and Yaya episode the best )
There are also other lakorns I have watched till the end out of boredom but not worth mentioning here . 😀
I’m looking forward to watching Samee Tee Tra ( Pope and Ploy) and Yah Leum Chan (Ann & Tik). I have great hopes for them. Waiting eagerly for your recaps and reviews of lakorns to come.

Aww, I am sad that you are not picking up on Kularb Fai for recaps. I love action, especially if the pairing is hot! Art & Sara looks really good together in Kularb Fai.
However, for those who wants to watch Kularb Fai in subs…I was just told earlier today that a team on Viki will be subbing Kularb Fai. 🙂

The one I’m looking forward to is Samee – it’s with Grate and Pream. The teaser just came out but I don’t know when it will air. I liked them as a couple in Khun Chai but it was that that the storyline was not good.
