Thanks so much for participating in the poll. I was mulling over the idea of having featured/collaborative writers to recap or review lakorns that I have not seen or do not plan on seeing, but may interest the readers. Summer is almost here and life can be consuming. Heck, even without summer, life sometimes get in the way of good drama watching.
It looks like 60% of those who voted are interested in writing about lakorns, but don’t understand Thai. That in itself, can be challenging, but not impossible. You don’t have to write live recaps, some lakorn fans may want to read only recaps before they decide on watching the drama. Therefore, I would love to challenge anyone who is interested in recapping English subbed lakorn (or writing lakorn reviews) to send me a sample piece of their article as well as a project they would like to work on. Simply send the articles to lovefia1210@gmail.com and we can correspond via email.
Also, for the 22% who are considering it, but aren’t sure of the commitment, I can tell you right now that picking a project to recap is quite time consuming, but very rewarding. Reviews may be a great place to start.
For the 15% who prefers to read, I thank you so much for stopping by and supporting my blog!
And finally, for the two who said that they are interested, I’m not sure if you’re interested in being one of my featured writers/collaborators or simply you’d like to try your hand in recapping by creating your own blog (or maybe you already have a blog and you are welcome to offer your link in the comment box.) Either way, please feel free to submit your articles if interested.
I am even contemplating on getting a dotcom, depending on how much interest we can generate. You can opt to write all the time, write just an article or not write at all. If nothing comes to fruition, it was fun thinking about it, no?
I’ll of course, still be doing my one lakorn at a time recaps for the summer. When things slow down at work, I will consider picking up a second one. You can submit request for a lakorn you’d like recapped here as well.

wi jave missed the poll? was i gone for that long? im a very uncommitted person lol i like to voice out my opinion but writing…. eh… im a poor writer w horrible grammar issues n i love to use slang, acronoym, etc. and 95% of the time, im using my phone or ipod.

I considered recapping Khun Samee Kamalor Tee Ruk a while back when only Chinese subs were available but I guess I dragged my heels on that project too long and by the time I wanted to start on it the Eng subs were out. lol. I’m still interested in recapping it since there are many details in the drama I fancied which I neglected to cover in my response/review posts but I’m just wondering what’s the demand out there for recaps of Eng subbed lakorns? Plus I can be so lazy sometimes I’m worried I’ll abandon the project midway!
But I’m definitely more than happy to contribute to any special lakorn features that you might have in mind! 😀

This is great news for me, J! Woo! If you are selecting a project that has already finished its airing time, then I would like to see at least two episode recaps a week. What I find helpful in seeing a project through is designating specific days in which you will be sending/releasing the articles to me. I’ll go ahead and leave that up to you, M-T, M&W, etc, which ever day (s) is more convenient for you. The nice thing about recapping a lakorn that has already ended- you at least know that you loved it- and there won’t be any hair pulling or raising your fist at the lakorn gods due to the unfairness of it all. If you have time and interest down the road, I’d love to see recaps for currently airing lakorns that aren’t subbed in English (but are subbed in Chinese, wouldn’t that be great?!)
Also, I recall a few lakorns that you adore but haven’t been recapped before: Mr. Farmer and his Hi-So Sweetheart (gives you another reason to re-watch!) or even several of the classics that we like Sood Saneha, Sawan Biang, etc. I have several ideas that we can explore further too (I also have an interesting title for the dotcom site I’m thinking about.) So let me know which lakorns you’d like to pick up and when you’d be available to start!

I’ll start with Khun Samee Kamalor Tee Ruk since I already have some ideas on how I’m gonna do it. Hmm, I’m already doing over time third day into my new job T_T so I think I’ll commit to 1 epi a week every Monday for now and maybe increase to 2/wk after I get a hang of both my new job and this recapping business! Haa.
How do you intend to publish the recaps? On my blog and link to it or on another one that you are setting up?

Wah, new job and already working overtime? So diligent. Yes one episode per week is great to start with. I’d like to publish on both blogs (yours and mine) until I get the other one up and running (if at all, since the dotcom will require some thought and planning. Also, starting a new one from scratch is challenging since I want the current readership to stay informed.) I don’t really like reblogging or tagging or whatever else WordPress has to link a post, I would prefer just to post it to the blog, if that is alright with you. So let me know your thoughts- ping me via email so we can discuss other details.

Well I can’t recap anything but reviewing past lakorns/dramas has always been on my mind. If I were to recap anything it’s only going to be English subtitled, so that there’s plenty of details to go around. If I’m reviewing a lakorn or drama I can just watch it and give my thoughts and comments about the drama as a whole, and the characters/actors. When I watch remakes, I compare the two lakorns (that I have watched) and do a comparison between the two, determining which one I prefer.
Examples of recapping would be past lakorns such as Song Rao Nirundon (Ken and Aom), Malai Sarm Chai (Aom and others), Roy Leh Sanae Rai (Tik and Aom), Jan Aey Jun Jao (Rita and Kong) and what ever else I can think of.
Reviewing lakorns and dramas would be Luerd Kattiya (Tik and Aom), Buang (Rita and Rome), Dome Thong (Numpeung and Saranyu), Reun Son Ruk (Kob and Kelly), or the list from above.
Comparing would be Luerd Hong (Bee and Tew) and Kaew Lorm Petch (Son and Vill).
But I’m up for anything you have in mind.

well I enjoy reading, watching, and recapping old and new lakorns. I think my Thai is pretty decent since I can and do watch lakorns unsubbed and find myself often translating it for my dear friends who don’t understand but want to watch that lakorn but no one is subbing it. But my translation may not always be reliable. If you need help or would like it I don’t mind. As for my commitment level I can’t say right now as I would have to see how much time I have too between work and life. LOL! Also, I will be traveling to Thailand in a couple of weeks for a couple of weeks so I have no idea how soon you were thinking about having the collaborative debuts. But let me know if I can help.

Hi Nee- I think that’s so wonderful you are up for the challenge 🙂 I appreciate your interest. Timeline wise, it doesn’t have to happen immediately. I prefer to talk about this and find out what you’re interested in and how we can parlay it to what readers would want to read (about.) I’ll keep you on the list, when you return from your trip (so jelly by the way) then we can reconvene. Commitment wise, you don’t have to start on a long and large project, you can simply pick an old or a recently finished lakorn to review in depth. Let’s brainstorm via email.
