Is there a time in your life where you want to like something, but you just can’t? I’m currently experiencing this. I like Chompoo Araya so I gave Khun Samee a gander (one episode, really) and didn’t find myself drawn. Then I cheated and read recaps for ep 2-4 from DarknessLakorns and it doesn’t sound like something I would continue. Rome’s character, although appearing to be the ideal man, just sounds so boring. Also, Chompoo is turning out to be quite mean, what’s appealing about that?
Speaking of which, Tawanchai Nai Marn Mek is not doing it for me either. Tawanchai, played by Taew, is an aspiring writer who wants nothing more than to write and read all day. Don’t we all? But there is such a thing as finding a means to support oneself so one can pursue writing. Luckily, Tawanchai aka Sun, is a manager at her parent’s resort who shrugs her responsibilities daily. Whenever she is reminded that she needs to “work” she throws little fits. If the resort goes down in flames and bankrupts itself from an irresponsible, obnoxious manager, than the parents have only themselves to blame. So far, Tawanchai is not looking too favorably to me, and if I don’t have to hear Taew shriek one more time, I wouldn’t miss a thang.
As for Boy Pakorn, he plays Nopathee who is the president of a tour guide company. (You can read the synopsis of the lakorn at Lyn’s Lakorn Blog.) I’ve never really been enthralled or go gaga over Boy Pakorn. I prefer reading about him and following his real life. He’s quite interesting in that regard. However in lakorns, he’s just- well, not stirring any interest. Anyway, he and Tawanchai butt heads from the beginning, which sets off constant bickering. Maybe this lakorn is just going after corny comedic reliefs and typical, clichéd pra’nang scenes? I love romcoms, don’t get me wrong, but this one so far is a miss for me. And since the pairing doesn’t do anything for me, I’m going to pass. The same goes for Khun Samee.
I suppose, to inject any positivity in this, I do like the OST in Tawanchai!
Which really, only leaves me to enjoy Nuer Mek 2 for the rest of Dec and early Jan. What are you occupying your time with?

I am having the same issue, I guess lol. I miss Taew, and was actually interested in TNMM until I watched parts of ep. 1 and 2. It just doesn’t seem very interesting, despite the teasers giving me hope. So her name means “sun”? Cute! On the other hand, I can’t wait until she and Mario reunite in the yakuza lakorn.
I’m awaiting NM2 episodes, but I’m really just skimming for Mteam scenes in that one. It’s going to feel forever until Rang Pratana and Roy Leh Sanae Luang air. Ngon =(

Her nickname in this lakorn is Sun, even though everyone calls her Tawanchai. J and I are of the opinion that we have seen too many dramas that recently, not many is able to wow us anymore. As for Tawanchai, I don’t make exceptions to annoying nang’eks. I haven’t been bothered by her voice before, but in this lakorn, she screeches too much.
You won’t have to hold on for much longer, it seems that Rang Pratana will air after nm2. Also, it sounds like Koo Gum is actually happening! It’ll be interesting to see who Nadech is paired with.

haizz, I dont know what happened to me, or it is because there r not so many good lakorns recently, but I still check your site frequently ….. I am back to some HongKong series while waiting for a lakorn heheheh, wonder if you watched Ghetto Justice yet because I am so in love with the series now hehehehe…. sorry for putting a random comment in this topic….

I haven’t even started TawanChai & Khun Samee yet because I’ve been busy with finals. I didn’t really like Mia Taeng, it was too much of a “I want to slap that girl in the face” feeling.hahah.. To be even more honest, I haven’t even finish watching it yet. But I have a strong feeling I’m going to like Khun Samee more than that one just because I’m more interested into that storyline. ha. As for TawanChai, I’m looking forward to watch it. Oh, I hope it’s not disappointing for me because from the way of the teaser it looked like it’s going to be a na’rak lakorn.

Watch Cheongdamdong Alice Fia!!! I am really pushing a imaginary knife at your throat haha kidding. But that is how badly I want to recommend this drama. Episode 1 might not interest you (about gazillion of others hated the first episode but end up eating their words lol) but once you hit episode 2, you are on crack lol I am enjoying NM2 and I haven’t started Boy and Taew lakorn. The teaser was great but I have been hearing a lot of negative reviews on it. Do watch Cheongdamdong Alice (sort of a retell of Alice in Wonderland and some serious golddigging Cinderella) definitely not a black and white drama. But be careful, this drama is bipolar. One second you are crying and the next you are DOFL (dying on the floor laughing)… Really really romantic main male lead. Oh lead actor is from Prosecutor Princess.

@A- I hope that TC and KS will meet your expectations then 🙂 I didn’t watch Mia Taeng because the storyline didn’t compel me, and the pairing this time around didn’t do much for me in the fangirling department. I suppose you can’t win em all, right?
@Fun- Has Cheongdamdong Alice (what a long title) finished airing yet, and does it have eng sub? I prefer to marathon foreign dramas. I did like Park Shi Hoo a lot in PP so I wouldn’t mind seeing him again. See, pulling my arm wasn’t very hard. Thanks for the rec! Right now, I’m just enjoying NM2 and the holidays.. hopefully the new year will bring in more interesting lakorns!
